Hey everybody, a big ol’ Happy Saturday to you! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! I’m up on the Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L blog today sharing a tutorial for making a chocolate bar card. You’ve seen this fun card several times previously on my blog because it’s one of my favorites! This is Part 1 of a ‘special project’ we were assigned – a three-piece ensemble for the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Trade Show Booth. I thought this birthday card would be great to open with… I mean, after all, who doesn’t love a chocolate bar?! On their birthday or anytime, lol?!
I used cardstock from CutCardStock, papers and die cut pieces from the Keep It Simple Happy Birthday collection, and quite a few awesome products from Scrapbook Adhesives. All three pieces of my ensemble show off the ‘Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside’ technique which I absolutely love! Needless to say, I had a good time!
This is a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline size with the base and chocolate pieces cut from CutCardStock Vanilla Bean Brown cardstock. I used CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil cardstock for the inner wrapper layer and Keep It Simple Happy Birthday papers for the outer wrapper. Also used Keep It Simple die cuts from the same Happy Birthday collection. I employed the ‘Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside’ technique for the banner using green purple and blue Making Memories glitter in my stash.
I assembled the card with E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser, Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix, 3D Foam Pennants, Adhesive Lines, 3D Foam Squares White Mix, and Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.
I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and layered it on CutCardStock Lessebo Sunflower Yellow. Embellished the panel with narrow strips of the dotted paper used on the front and another (sentiment) die cut. The final touch was adding a Love From Lizi green pinstripe peel-off for a little interest.
