Hero Arts Tree-Mendous Birthday

Hello, crafty friends! Merry Christmas! Today is finally here… one we’ve been preparing for since August or September – making cards and gifts! Today is my post day on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m happy to share a DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts Tree-Mendous Digital Kit and the Hero Arts Birthday Bash Digital Kit! Another fun (almost) one-layer and all-digital card! I wanted to demonstrate the versatility of the Tree-Mendous Digital Kit – instead of using it for a Christmas card, I used it for a birthday card by coloring one of the trees in bright colors and adding a birthday sentiment from the Birthday Bash Digital Kit.

I printed a tree with flourishes and a sentiment, along with an extra tree (without the sentiment) on the opposite side of a piece of thick white cardstock. I flipped the piece over and printed the sentiment.

I cut the cardstock in half vertically and scored the card base (the half with the sentiment). I fussy cut the extra tree, colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and layered it on black cardstock which I trimmed, leaving a very narrow edge of black around the image. I colored the flourishes with a sparkle overlay marker and then ‘dabbed’ Multi Medium Matte over the entire image with a pouncing tool to give it some subtle texture. I adhered the tree to the card base and added a few pink sequins to finish the front.

Here’s an angled shot – I’m hoping you can see the dimension from dabbing on the multi medium matte. You can definitely see it in person – and feel it – and it’s very cool!
