I am thankful for you

Hi everyone! I’m baaaack! Yep, it’s been a busy few days preparing all these posts for this morning, lol! Our new challenge is going live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #9 – Anything Goes + Masking! I created a thank you card using a very cool stamp set from Stampin’ Up that looks like watercoloring with a very basic masking technique.

I layered a strip of masking paper horizontally across the bottom of my cardstock background and commenced to randomly stamping the three-step sunflower images. When I finished stamping and peeled up the masking strip, I had a wonderful ‘channel’ that contained no stamping – and that’s where I stamped my sentiment. I layered the background piece on Early Espresso cardstock and a piece of brown Foamies foam, and adhered it to the card base, and then adhered a large button with a thread bow. To finish the front, I added several dots of Crystal Drops in the center of each flower and took the large beaded end of a fancy straight pin and dipped it into the Crystal Drops, which left divots of texture.

I kept the inside super simple with just a sentiment stamped on a panel layered on the Early Espresso cardstock. I did stamp a few clusters of dots in Antique Linen distress ink.

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D

  1. I LOVE sunflowers! your card looks amazing and bonus for using a new stamp set, I find that hard to do, even though I bought. Thank you for joining us for our first challenge of 2018, “Anything New”!
