Happy Spring

Hi friends! Hope you’re having a great week – the weekend is almost here! A couple weeks ago I shared that I’m guest designing for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge this month. We’re being sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps so be sure to join The Outlawz so you can join in the fun! The Twisted Thursday challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist. Today’s challenge is being hosted by Janet and the twist is ‘Hoodie-Hoo.’ It was explained to me that on this winter day (usually celebrated on the 20th) people go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads, and chant “Hoodie-Hoo.” It’s a day to chase away Winter blues and bring in Spring. After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere is sick and tired of Winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun. So this one is wide open to interpretation and we can’t wait to see what you create!

I created a ‘Happy Spring’ card featuring the adorable Bugaboo Birdhouses digital image from my stash. I adhered a floral print paper to the front of the card base and then created a green print panel that I layered on foam and adhered to the left side of the floral print.

2020_0104005a

I colored the image, trimmed it and adhered it to the green panel. I affixed tiny iridescent gemstones to the center of each flower and a simple red bow at the top. I adhered the Spring definition (created on the computer) on a vertical tab and a few larger gemstones on the right side.

2020_0104006a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the papers used on the front and a layered computer-generated sentiment.

2020_0104008a

And one more look… I so love how this turned out and it sure makes me ready for Spring! ;)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day treat box

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day – it’s almost the end of February! I’m not posting on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog today but have popped in this morning to share an extra DT inspiration project with you, an adorable treat box created with the Simply Crafty SVGs Pot O Gold Treat Box cut file, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day in a couple weeks, which has always been one of my favs because of the green! ;)

2019_09040019a

I mean, how flippin’ cute is this?! It’s so easy to put together but sure packs a big punch with all that color! I used dark gray for the pot and of course, rainbow colors for the rainbow, and the sentiment was a printable included in the cut file that I punched with a circle punch and layered on slightly larger punched circle.

Here’s an angled shot…

Happy Birthday

2/29/20 Spotlight Winner at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge!

Hi friends! Hope your week is off to a great start! I’m delighted to be back on the ScraPerfect Blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! First order of business is to let you know that this post contains affiliate links. I have a fun project to share – a pretty birthday card featuring a CAS panel popped up on colored foam!

2020_0202001a

I created the card base and trimmed down the background panel. I stamped and heat embossed the floral swag image and used the Perfect Cleaning Cloth to clean the speckles of embossing powder from my desk… *sigh* I can’t ever heat emboss without this happening. I colored the image with bright markers and put it off to the side while I trimmed the teal-colored foam to go behind the background panel and the inside panels. I adhered the focal image to the foam with Best Glue Ever and a No-Clog Writing Cap. I let the glue dry to a clear state so it was good and tacky. This ensures a good bond. I added three Gold ‘n Pearls using Embellie Gellie. I love Embellie Gellie – just mold a small ball on the end of the stick to aid in the placement of your embellishments. Use a small bit for tiny embellishments and a slightly larger bit for larger embellishments. There’s just enough ‘tack’ to pick up the embellishments which release easily onto your project. And these Gold ‘n Pearls are my new favorite – they look so elegant and come in gorgeous colors!

2020_0202002a

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of teal cardstock, stamped the inside sentiment and layered the panel on the teal cardstock.

2020_0202003a

And one more look… I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out! And I need more birthday cards in my stash! ;)

3/14/20 DT Favorite at World Wide Open Design Team Monthly Challenge!

Hi everyone! It’s Saturday and I hope you’re having a great weekend! I’ve popped in this evening to share a super adorable wall hanging I made today to enter into the February Outlawz Freebie/Progressive Challenge. Everyone joining in the challenge receives a free sponsor digi to create with each month. All Dressed Up Stamps is our sponsor this month and we’re playing with the most adorable My Best Friend digi stamp. OMG, how stinkin’ cute is she?! You ought to check out The Outlawz Challenges – lots of challenges to enter and lots of fun going on!

2020_0222001

My hubby recently bought me several large and small embroidery hoops for my crafty stash so I decided to use a small one for this project. I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers, then centered the image in the hoop and traced around the outside of the hoop to cut a circle. I adhered the image on the back of the hoop and then added some paper flowers, a ribbon bow embellished with a flower button, and a little bit of bling. I also added a circle of pink and white gingham paper to the back of the wall hanging to give it a clean and finished look on the back side.

And one more peek… I’m absolutely tickled with how this turned out! I’m always really happy when my projects turn out as good in real life as they do in my mind, lol!

All Occasion Spring Floral Note Cards

Hello, my peeps! Happy Saturday – I hope you have a great weekend planned! I’m delighted to share my Ephemoire inspiration project with you this morning. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to head over to the Ephemoire Etsy Shop to check out all the amazing digital printables… there are collage sheets, digital papers, journal kits, clip art and mixed media printables, and the print quality is awesome!

I was provided Ephemoire Sapphire Spring Floral letter-size digital papers, Crafty Sentiments #1 and Crafty Sentiments #2 to play with this month and created a pretty set of all occasion note cards. OMG, I love how these turned out – check out these blues and greens!

2020_02140016

I used a shaped card die set to create these cards. The card bases were cut from an array of blue and green cardstock using the largest die in the set. I cut all the card front panels from the gorgeous Sapphire Spring Floral letter-size digital papers using the next smaller size die. Then, using that same size die, I cut plain white panels from 60# Hammermill copy paper for the insides of the cards, leaving plenty of room to write a custom message.  I always print the Ephemoire digitals on this Hammermill paper because the heavier-weight copy paper yields very nice print quality and sturdy printed papers and elements.

I printed a variety of sentiments from the new Crafty Sentiments digital files (also on the Hammermill copy paper), cut them in strips and added them to the front panels. To finish off the cards, I punched small flowers from matching cardstock which I embellished with a tiny white flat-back pearl.

And here’s one more look… I’m so smitten with these papers I can’t even stand it! Traci never disappoints with her products!

unleash your inner unicorn

Hello, friends! Hope you’re having a good week! Our new challenge is live over at Southern Girls Challenge and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! As always, the theme for our challenge is Anything Goes and we’d love to see what you create! Our sponsors this time are Krafter’s Cart, Stamper’s Delights (formerly Scrapper’s Delights) and Avery Elle. I was provided Stamper’s Delights Chibi Unicorn Blythe digital image to create with. OMG, cuteness overload – she’s absolutely adorable!

2020_0108005a

I printed three of the Blythe images and layered them on top of each other for some dimension. I colored the top one with my Prismacolor pencils and then ran a Memento Tuxedo Black marker around the outside edge to give it a finished look. I added a computer-generated sentiment and lots of bling.

2020_0108006a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the cardstock used on the front, and added another computer-generated sentiment.

Life’s A Witch

Hi friends! Happy Monday and a big Woo-Hoo! I’m thrilled to be introduced on the blog today over at The Project Bin as the new tutorial creator! Denise is bringing the tutorials back and I’ll be creating crafty tutorials periodically to fill in gaps or when extra projects are needed. I’m so stoked to be a new DT member and am really looking forward to working with these awesome stamps and dies! I was provided the amazing Haunt It stamp set and created a fun Halloween card, my first tutorial on the blog, so if you’re interested, take a peek at that HERE

I kept with an orange, yellow and black Halloween color scheme for this card. I love that the sentiment is large and is the focal point.

2020_0213001a

I measured and cut a shaped element that matches the shape of the focal point sentiment, which is kind of cool. I used a couple of my favorite stitched dies and added some bling.

2020_0213002a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the paper and cardstock used on the front, and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

2020_0213003a

One more peek… I LOVE how this turned out! Just cracks me up, lol!
