Patriotic flower box

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m not posting on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog today but have popped in this morning to share an extra DT inspiration project with you, an adorable patriotic treat box I created for the July 4th holiday using the free Simply Crafty SVGs USA Banner Box cut file. I love all things patriotic and this really fits the bill!

2019_09040023a

This was one of the easiest and quickest cut files I’ve ever worked with and packs a seriously big punch. It only takes red, white and blue cardstock, a little bit of die cutting, and *poof* you have a very cool box!

2019_09040024a

My plan is to create a small red, white and blue floral arrangement for this box, and will update this post with a photo or two when that happens. ;)

2019_09040025a

I’d love to enter this box into the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers: #255 – Anything But A Card
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends: #130 – Anything Goes

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: American Crafts white cardstock, Colorbok red and blue cardstock
Dies/Punches: Simply Crafty SVGs USA Banner Box cut file

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project! Be sure to check out all the fun cut files in the Simply Crafty SVGs store – you’ll have so much fun! And there are tons of freebies to get started! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time! ;)

Happy Spring

Hi friends! Happy Monday to you! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! Handipaper is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month, created by me!

Stick-It-Down-Apr2020-Card-SketchI’ve absolutely enjoyed creating the first six card sketches for Stick It Down this year. I’m such a novice… prior to this, I had never created any sketches, so this has been great experience. Using this month’s sketch, I created a pretty Spring card. It’s about that time of year and hopefully you’re seeing some warmer weather where you are!

2019_1224001a

I used a Spring paper pad that I’ve had in my stash for several years and have only used a few sheets out of it. This year I am making an effort to use more stamps, papers and dies in my stash that have never seen the light of day, lol! These papers are just gorgeous and I was more than happy to use them, and paired them with a super adorable Bugaboo image and a digital sentiment from Imagine That Digis by Kris out of my digi stash.

2019_1224002a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover paper and cardstock used on the front. The inside sentiment is another one from Imagine That Digis by Kris.

2019_1224003a

And one more look… super happy with how this turned out. I love that image!

2019_1224004a

I’d love to enter this card into the following challenges:
Artsystamper Digitals Challenge: #14 – Springtime
Crafty Gals Corner: #206 – Easter/Spring
Double D Challenges: Showers & Flowers
Sparkles Monthly Challenge: #127 – Spring Is In The Air
The Crafter’s Cafe: #240 – Flowers

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Cardstock Warehouse Pure White cardstock, Stampin’ Up Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, First Edition Paper Spring Drop 6×6 paper pad
Stamps: Bugaboo Dollar Flower Bug digital image, Imagine That Digis by Kris Bloom Where You Are Planted
Ink: Studio 71- YR15, C7, R18, BG3, BG13, Y9
Dies/Punches: Sizzix Dotted Rectangles die
Accessories:  ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever, Gemini Junior die cutting machine, Darice white Foamies foam, Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and will link up with us! Feel free to play along with the double page or single page sketch if you’re a scrapbook layout designer, or the card sketch if you’re a card maker! You have until the end of the month to play and we’d love to see what you create! Be sure to check out all the fun goodies at Handipaper! happy birthday, gorgeous

Hello again, my peeps! This is the final card I created for The Outlawz Challenges and I have to say (again) that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself! I’m playing in a couple new challenges that I’ve never played in before, and this card is for Sunday Songs and Rhymes Challenge. Our sponsor this time is Sherry West Art. The theme is about Raindrops, so I used the Stampin’ Up Beautiful You stamp set to create a one-layer card, colored with Prismacolor pencils.

2020_0417005

I lived 45 years in Florida where it rains all the time, and to be quite honest, too much rain can be depressing. The hubs and I moved out to Colorado three years ago and it hardly ever rains here, so when it does rain, it’s wonderful! Funny how things change, lol! This was a quick and easy card.

2020_0417006

There are no layers. I stamped the image and sentiments directly on the thick card base.

2020_0417007

One more look… really love the simplicity of this card! It would be super easy to reproduce to make a set to gift to a friend. ;)

2020_0417008

I’d love to enter this card into these additional challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog: #249 – Aud Sentiment’s 10th Birthday

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock
Stamps: Stampin’ Up Beautiful You stamp set
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink (pad and marker)
Accessories:  Prismacolor pencils- Goldenrod, Spanish Orange, Pale Vermilion, Poppy Red, Peach, Light Peach, Sienna Brown, Light Cerulean Blue

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and will come join us in The Outlawz Challenges! Lots of fun going on! Thanks so much for stopping by – we’ll see you next time!

Hello, gorgeous.

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a great week and have something fun planned for the weekend while #alonetogether! I’m still playing and have popped in with another card created for The Outlaws Challenges – this one is for the Twisted Thursday Challenge. All challenges are anything goes with an optional twist, and this time the twist is a map or sign. Our sponsor is STAMPlorations and I have the fun stamp set called A Girl and Her Shoes in my stash so I used it with some map paper to create a fun friendship card.

2020_0417001

I recently added several more Crafter’s Companion Die-sire Create-A-Card die sets to my stash and used one called Emma for this card. What a fun shape! Using the graduating sizes, it’s so easy to create beautiful layered cards. I cut the stamped sentiment with a circle punch and layered it on a slightly larger punched circle. I added a Tim Holtz Paper Doll and a few black gemstones to complete the front.

2020_0417002

Love, love, love the inside sentiment! The shoes are stamped off once and then the sentiment is stamped right over the shoes.

2020_0417003

One more peek… really loving how this turned out! The sentiment goes with the map paper so well, lol!

2020_0417004

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: American Crafts vanilla cardstock, Colorbok black cardstock, Stampin’ Up Typeset Specialty DSP
Stamps: STAMPlorations A Girl and Her Shoes stamp set
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Dies/Punches: Crafter’s Companion Die’sire Emma Create-A-Card die set, Stampin’ Up 1-3/8″ and 1-3/4″ circle punches
Accessories:  Tombow Mono permanent adhesive, ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever, Gemini Junior die cutting machine, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Paper Dolls, Darice black gemstones

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and will come join us in The Outlawz Challenges! Lots of fun going on! Thanks so much for stopping by – we’ll see you next time!

smitten by my kitten

Hello, my friends! A big Happy Friday to you! As promised, I’m back this morning with another card I created for The Outlawz Challenges. I have a couple more to share in a little while, so stay tuned! This sweet kitten card is for the April Progressive Freebie Challenge. Star Stampz is our sponsor this month and we were provided the most adorable Red String digital image to create with. A free digi each month is the perk for playing in this challenge each month! ;)

2020_0416013

I used mainly red, orange and yellow for the image, which scream ‘happy’ to me. I cut the image with a square mini scallop die and popped it up on orange foam to match the orange dotted cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in black ink. After I finished the inside, I went back and added a few random black glitter punctuation marks to pull it all together.

2020_0416014

For the inside, I added a strip of the orange dotted cardstock across the top and stamped the sentiments in black ink, adding black glitter brackets around the second part. This is SO the hubby and I, lol! We have nine feline fur babies and eight of them are rescues. We’ve been empty-nesters for years – our four human kids are grown with families of their own – and we couldn’t imagine life without these furry kids!

2020_0416015

One more look… I’m so smitten with how this turned out! This image and challenge were the start of all the play this month! Sure glad I made studio time! ;)

2020_0416016

I’d love to enter this card into these additional challenges:
The Creative Crafters: #27 – Anything Goes
Show Us Your Pussycats: #53 – Anything Goes

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, Colorbok Seeing Dots cardstock

Happy mother’s day

Hi everyone! I’m baaaaack! Thanks for hanging with me – this is my last post for tonight but I’ll be back with a couple more tomorrow. I’m so glad that I decided to set time aside these last couple days to create cards for The Outlawz Challenges because I didn’t get a chance to play much at all last month. The card I’m sharing now is for the Color Challenge and our sponsor this month is SheepSki Designs. I chose the gorgeous Wild Roses image from my stash to create a Mother’s Day card.

2020_0416005

The colors for the challenge are burgundy, green, yellow, pink, purple and white plus a twist. This is our photo inspiration:

I used all the colors and my twist is CAS (clean and simple). I fussy cut the image and added a few dots of white Crystal Drops for a little texture. I stamped the sentiment in black ink.

2020_0416006

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of the burgundy cardstock used to layer the front and inside panels, and then stamped the sentiment in black ink. The stamp set is from The Project Bin and contains both fun and serious sentiments.

2020_0416007

And one more look… all I can say is love, love, love! Beautiful image and fun challenge!

2020_0416008

I’d love to enter this card into these additional challenges:
Creative Inspirations: April Challenge – April Showers & Flowers

Feel Better Soon!

4/27/20 Top Pick at The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge!

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great day and staying home and staying well! I’m (still) playing in my studio creating projects for The Outlawz Challenges! This card that I’m sharing is for the Monday Greetings Challenge and this is the first time I’ve played in this challenge. The Paper Shelter is our sponsor this month and I have several of their digi stamps in my stash, so I chose Rose to create a get well card. What a gorgeous image!

2020_0416009

The fun thing about The Paper Shelter digis is you not only get a gorgeous image, but you get background paper too, and you can print them together or separately. I printed the image on the background paper, trimmed it and layered it, and then added some decorate corners with bling. I also added some pretty shimmer to all the butterflies.

2020_0416010

I lightened the background paper for the the inside panel. The front and inside sentiment strips are new in my stash and I really love them. I outlined them with a metallic blue pen.

2020_0416011

And one more peek… loving the simplicity of this card that’ll hopefully brighten someone’s day!

2020_0416012

I’d love to enter this into these additional challenges:
Dare2BArtzy: April Challenge – Pastel Colors
The Creative Crafters: #27 – Anything Goes

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, Stampin’ Up Island Indigo cardstock

Ink: Sakura Star Dust Gelly Roll pen, Pentel Slicci Metallic Blue pen
Dies/Punches: Gemini Opulent Swirls die set

Happy Spring

Hi everyone! I had so much fun creating cards for The Outlawz Challenges yesterday that I decided to do it again, lol! The card I’m sharing now is for the Festive Fridays Challenge, Our sponsor this month is The Paper Nest Dolls and I have several of their digis in my stash so I chose the adorable Flower Cart Avery to create a Spring card. She is so stinkin’ cute I can’t even stand it! ;)

2020_0416001

Since I was making a Spring card, I dug through my digital paper stash and found a pretty Bearly Mine floral paper to use for the background. I rounded the bottom left corner of the card base and the image which I colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I created the sentiment on the computer and angled it over the top right corner of the image, then added a couple blue Twinkle Goosebumps.

2020_0416002

I used a Robin Williams quote for the inside sentiment that I created on the computer. I embellished the panel with leftover digital paper and cardstock used on the front.

2020_0416003

One more peek… loving how this turned out! Although I absolutely love the snow, it’s still in the 20s and 30s at night here so I’m ready for some Spring weather, lol!

2020_0416004

I’d love to enter this card into these additional challenges:
Not Just Cards Challenges: April Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner: #206 – Easter/Spring
Double D Challenges: Showers & Flowers
Sparkles Monthly Challenge: #127 – Spring Is In The Air

hippity hop

Hello, friends! Hope you’re having a good week! Our new challenge is live over at Southern Girls Challenge and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! As always, the theme for our challenge is Anything Goes and we’d love to see what you create! Our sponsors this time are Auzz Trinklets and Jenoviya Art Shop. I was provided an adorable Jenoviya Art Shop digital image from the Cutie Doll Range and created an Easter card.

2020_0327005

I covered the front of my card base with green glitter cardstock, cut the front flap about 3/4″ shorter than the back flap and ran it through the die cutting machine with a cross-stitch border die. Since green and purple are one of my favorite color combos, I grabbed a couple shades of dark purple cardstock to pair with the green glitter cardstock. I added a computer-generated sentiment and a few small purple gemstones to complete the card front.

2020_0327006

The inside sentiment is also computer-generated. I layered the panel on dark purple cardstock and added a strip of green glitter cardstock at the base of the panel. I added two strips of skinny Washi Tape at the bottom of the inside flap which is visible when the card is closed.

2020_0327007

One more look… such a sweet image that really pops on the green and purple!

2020_0327008

Let It Snow

Hello again, my peeps! I mentioned in my last post that I set some time aside today to make a few cards (that are not design team projects, believe it or not), so I’m back with another one – this time for The Outlawz Crash Your Stash Challenge! The items to dig up from your stash this month are doilies! Our sponsor this month is Wink Wink Ink and I used the adorable Season’s Tweetings – Snowman With Little Bird digital image to make a Christmas card.

2020_0414006

I actually love doilies and have paper ones in several sizes and colors in my stash, plus several doily dies in assorted patterns. I love an aqua and hot pink color combo so that’s what I went with for this card even though they are very non-traditional Christmas colors. I printed the snowman image on shrink plastic and used my heat tool to shrink it to use as the focal image. I added gemstones to the doily for some wintery bling. The sentiment strip across the bottom was cut from patterned paper from the same pad as the aqua gingham background paper… from one of my all-time favorite paper pads!

2020_0414007

Here’s a close-up of the snowman. Isn’t he just the cutest guy ever?!

2020_0414008

I printed a digital sentiment for the inside and embellished the panel with another strip of the patterned paper and aqua cardstock used on the front.

2020_0414009

One more look… I’m so smitten with this image and design! It’s been a while since I played with shrink film and I really enjoyed myself… brought out the kid in me, lol!

2020_0414010

I’d love to enter this card into the following challenges:
Christmas Crafts All Year Round: April Challenge – Snow Buddies or Anything Christmas/Winter Holidays Goes
613 Avenue Create: #232 – Anything Goes w/optional geometric papers

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, Stampin’ Up Soft Sky cardstock, American Crafts Taffy cardstock, The Paper Studio Four Seasons and Everything In Between -2- paper pad
Stamps: Wink Wink Ink Season’s Tweetings – Snowman With Little Bird digital image, Polkadoodles Winnie White Christmas digital sentiment
Dies/Punches: Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry die, Sizzix Dotted Circles die
Accessories:  Grafix shrink film, ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever, Darice iridescent gemstones

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and will come join us in The Outlawz Challenges! Lots of fun going on! Thanks so much for stopping by – we’ll see you next time!
