Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a fabulous week! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring a very cool vintage Santa on a handmade background using Neenah Classic Linen and Crest cardstock (both are on sale this month so be sure to get you some) along with a variety of other cardstock. Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m filling in today for a teammate who is caught up in some pretty gnarly weather where she is and unable to create a project. I had this Santa cut and assembled, sitting on my desk waiting to be made into something, so I volunteered to fill in so I could use him! He’s so stinkin’ cute, I can’t stand it!

I cut a top-folding 5-1/2″ square card base from Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock. I cut a layering panel for the front from Classic Linen Solar White 80# cardstock and used a repetitive die to create a background of die cut dots for a little interest. I layered the die cut panel on a slightly larger Pop-Tone Wild Cherry 65# cardstock panel, adhered a strip of Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green 65# cardstock and then adhered the vintage Santa. As mentioned above, I had already die cut and assembled the vintage Santa – he was created from the following cardstock: Pop-Tone Wild Cherry 65# cardstock, for his suit, Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock for his beard and suit trim, Pop-Tone Black Licorice 65# cardstock and Shadow Gray 80# cardstock for his belt, Curious Metallic Gold Leaf 92# cardstock for his glasses and belt buckle, Sandcastle 80# cardstock for his face, and Basis Pink 80# cardstock for his cheeks and nose. For the sentiment, I die cut #hohoho into black cardstock and layered the negative space onto white cardstock, adding back the center of the hashtag and center of the o’s. I rounded the corners and adhered it vertically to the upper left side. The finishing touch was adding three small white enamel dots to the bottom left corner of the green strip.

I cut the inside panel from Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock and layered it on a Pop-Tone Wild Cherry 65# cardstock panel. I embellished it with green and red strips, stamped the sentiment in red ink and layered the panel on red cardstock.

And one more look… I’m so loving how this turned out! I can’t tell you how much I enjoy working with this cardstock! Wow!
