So the stalking continues…

My United States stalker continues to increase my blog stats – I’m estimating about a 10% increase over the past several months. She continues to look at my Simply Crafty SVGs projects and other 3-D projects – and a lot of old stuff – but seems to really dig my purses and my Handbag Palooza Part 1 and Part 2 posts – looking multiple times a day and many, many times a week. :)

I’m thankful she’s inspired by my projects, but I’m not sure if I should be creeped out, worried, or sad, or think it’s funny. Typically when I find something that inspires me on someone else’s blog or website, I take a screenshot to refer to later on… I never visit multiple times a day looking at that same project. In fact, most times I never visit a second time period. Just thinking about this from my own perspective.

I believe that if I found a specific Simply Crafty SVGs designer that inspired me, I’d visit the Simply Crafty SVGs website and search for all the projects that designer has made and take screen shots from there.

Or is she perhaps ‘working’ for the Chinese underground and stealing my photos so they can bootleg American products. I’m joking but this is happening more than people realize. Sadly, there are no copyright laws over there to protect American businesses selling stamps and dies.

This scenario reminds me of that childhood kid visiting the candy store every day, looking in from the outside drooling over the candy, because she doesn’t have any money to buy the candy. So I’d like to publicly ask her a couple questions – Would you like to have the Concord & 9th purse dies so you can make your own paper purses? Or would you like to have some of the Simply Crafty SVGs cut files so you can make your own 3-D projects? Please reach out to me to let me know where your head is. Maybe I can help.

Scrappy hugs,
lesliesig

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D

  1. Well aren’t you on top of your blog stuff! Sounds like CASEing is going on, or Ali express is using your photos I have found a couple of mine on there 😀 will be curious to see if they (stalker) contact you…

  2. I agree with Vicki, all I can say what a compliment! Your work is fabulous, perhaps just envious of it and trying to do what you do? I also agree with you, I take screen shots if I really love something remembering to save the name, if there is no copyright info.
You aught to put bets on whether you will be contacted hahahaha

  3. Yep, I’m on top of my stats – I look every morning. I don’t think she realizes that every time she visits, she is depositing her IP address which would lead the FBI to her front door if there is anything illegal going on. And you can best believe that I would press criminal charges in a heartbeat. I’m hoping that’s not the case.

  4. I wonder if you do a reverse image search on the posts that are visited the most you would find your work on a knock off site!! Intriguing for sure; personally I can see why she stalks you :) Hugs!!! xo

  5. Geez, this is creepy and the theft you mention must indeed happen a lot. As a stamp purchaser who doesn’t want to buy counterfeit, I learned the lesson the hard way. When Amaxon began selling stamps and dies dirt cheap, I bought a few to try them out as I was skeptical on instinct. Some were teeny tiny type and most were inferior material (either stuck to the plastic or easily stretched) and I google-imaged some of the better ones to find out who the makers were and BAM!!! That’s when I discovered I had bought identical knock-offs of American products! I only bought a few and still use them so I’m not a saint, but I don’t buy that way any more (and anyone who shops on Amazon nowadays knows that you can fill an entire craft room with all the knock-offs they sell). None of that really explains what’s happening to you, though, so it’s just creep as hell. Frankly, I am glad I don’t have the ability to look that deeply into my blog traffic, heehee XOX

  6. Perhaps that person is trying to make something similar to yours and doesn’t know how to take a screen shot or is unable to. I know that there have been a few times I loved how someone colored or inked their image and, because my computer is very old (and cranky) and in another room, I had to go back a few times to refer….Am in my 70’s so sometimes things don’t percolate like they used to! Just sayin’….

  7. Aww, thanks for the compliment, Faith! I truly believed she was getting inspiration when I first blogged about it months ago. But every day? Literally every day… Sure makes me wonder.

  8. Christi, you are such a sweetheart! I actually did look at several of my pics to see if they were anywhere else on the web and didn’t find anything. I’m really hoping she’s just getting inspiration. LOTS of inspiration, lol! ;)

  9. Aimeslee, I too bought several (cheap) die sets some years back and when I discovered that they were bootlegged, I threw them in the garbage. I don’t support theft. I’m really hoping she’s just getting inspiration, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out why she looks at the same stuff repeatedly. With WordPress, the stats are all right there (no need to dig deep) – that’s one of many things I love about WordPress. ;)

  10. Hi Dee, thanks for visiting! When this first started months and months ago, I believed she was getting inspiration and was very happy that she was finding stuff on my blog that she liked. But it has continued to the point – literally every day – that I’m really wondering what she’s up to. I could totally understand coming back to visit a few times to refer to something as you mentioned, but this is multiple times a day – times that by 30-31 days in a month and well, you can do the math. My blog statistics have increased tremendously. I’m in my 60s and screenshots are not difficult – she could even take a picture of the screen with her phone/camera. Sure looks like there’s more to this…

  11. hi please may i say that to be aware that many suffer challenges in this life, speaking from experience i can tell you this could be a case of a someone with autism speaking from seeing my son as he was learning he would often fixate on something he was impressed by, with autism there can be a tunnel vision aspect, not in every person but it is known and i have seen it, please know i think your stuff is wonderful its why i follow you its just there is so many times i see people jump to conclusions, and i understand, in todays world, especially with the internet it can be easy to fall into a negative reason for a persons behaviour, we are always exposed to the more negative with the media anyway, i only wish to show that there can be other reasons and i do not say i am right this person i do not know and i could well be way off , i just know there is times we could remember that life is very different for some and not all behaviour is as it seems, until we can sure of the intentions then we cannot say, thank you for sharing i hope you have a truly excellent day

  12. Hi, and thank you so much for your perspective. You are correct in every way. This person could very well suffer from some sort of issue that causes the daily fixations. I didn’t even think of that. You’ve made me see this in a different light! :)
