Retro Film Display

Hi friends! I keep saying that these Thursdays are rolling around mighty fast, but I guess it’s not a bad thing for all the working people because that means the weekend is close behind! When you’re retired, though, every day is like a weekend day, lol! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I love creating vintage projects and since I had some retro ATCs in my stash, this project featuring our 8×8 Page Display along with our Film Strip Chipboard Embellishment just fell into place!

I started by rounding the corners of the six ATCs and then layering them on metallic red cardstock. I cut three 8″ x 8″ panels of white cardstock, rounded the corners, and layered them on top of one other for stability. I cut one 7-7/8″ x 7-7/8″ panel of black cardstock, rounded the corners, and adhered it on top of the white ones. I arranged the ATCs and when I was happy with the placement, I adhered them with Tape Runner and added red jewel brads to the center top of each one to resemble a thumb-tack type of embellishment. I slid the panel into the 8×8 Page Display and added an angled strip of metallic red cardstock to the top and bottom. I added a clear jewel strip to each red cardstock strip, white enamel arrows, and white die cut alphas.

I heat embossed the Film Strip Chipboard Embellishment with three layers of Versamark and black embossing powder so it was good and shiny. I adhered it to the right side of the display and added more die cut alphas.

The final touch was adding a ribbon hanger tied in a bow. Love, love, love how this turned out! Such a fun project!

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D
