Hi friends, I hope your week has started off on a nice note and you are enjoying some pretty weather! I’m up on the Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L blog today sharing an easy floral birthday card. And when I say ‘easy’ – I mean that literally! I employed the ‘Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside’ technique on this card using the 3D Foam Butterflies (you know I love me some butterflies), and of course I assembled it using some of the best adhesives in the land!

I cut the top-folding A2 size card base from CutCardStock Glama Kraft cardstock. I trimmed a Spellbinders Cotton cardstock panel to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and pressed the floral image and sentiment into it using my BetterPress. I colored the image with Copic Ciao alcohol markers and adhered it to the card base using the E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

I employed the Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside technique using the 3D Foam Butterflies with purple mica powder along with a very light dusting of white mica powder on the wings. I sealed the butterfly with a light coat of clear satin urethane spray to ensure the mica powder wouldn’t rub off. I then stuck it to a small piece of acetate which I trimmed. I adhered the butterfly with both thin and regular 3D foam squares for some dimension. The final touch on the front was adding gemstones to the butterfly body and a few scattered on the background.

Using the Spellbinders Happy Birthday Glimmer Plate, I pressed the sentiment into another Spellbinders Cotton cardstock panel, once again using my BetterPress. I added the patterned paper embellishing strip to the bottom and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base. LOVE how this turned out – and it would be a good one to mass-produce in different colors to have extras in your stash!
