birthday gifts in the shopping cart

Hey everybody – happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cute birthday-themed shopping cart card. I used quite a variety of our cardstock to cut out all the pieces, and will list those below. As I’ve said many times before, I have so many crafty things that have never seen the light of day and I’m still on my quest to use what I have without buying more. For the most part, I’ve been doing pretty well! I’m using the right-facing Spellbinders 3D shopping cart dies and an add-on die set for today’s card.

Have to admit that it was almost as fun stuffing this 3D shopping cart full of these birthday gifts as ‘real’ shopping is! Who wouldn’t love a new potted plant, a couple pillows, a purse, and head phones for their birthday?!

I won’t go into a huge amount of detail here, so be sure to see my post on the CutCardStock blog if you want to know more. I used a 110# pre-folded Solar White card base along with layering panels cut from a green Swiss Dots print from the docrafts Papermania Happy Day 6×6 papers and Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock which I cut at an angle for a little interest.

I stamped a sentiment in the lower right corner from the Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blossoms stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I used lots of colors of cardstock to cut all the pieces for the shopping cart and birthday gifts and then layered the gifts inside the 3D cart with thin and regular size foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives. The finishing touch on the card front was adding a few iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and brought the angled design from the front to the inside by using the angled cut-off pieces. I stamped another sentiment from the same Stampin’ Up! stamp set, which completed the card.
