My Gnomies Rock!

Howdy again, peeps! I’m back with another card I created this afternoon for The Outlawz Challenges. This card is for the Tuesday Color Challenge where we have a color wheel to choose one cool color and two warm colors for our project. SheepSki Designs is our sponsor this month and since I’ve developed a major kind of love for gnomes lately (and these guys are no exception), I used her awesome Garden Party digital image to create this card for my son and his family.

2020_0424005

I picked lime green as my cool color along with red and orange as my warm colors. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and used a Copic black multi-liner pen to draw patterns on their hats. I used orange textured cardstock for the background and added a leftover piece of floral digital paper that was laying on my craft table. I trimmed the image and layered it on the orange textured cardstock and then on a red textured cardstock postage stamp die cut. I created the sentiment on my computer.

2020_0424006

I printed the inside sentiment on the computer as well, trimmed the panel and layered it on the orange and red textured cardstock used on the front.

2020_0424007

And one more peek… I’m so loving how this turned out! It’s a ‘just because’ kind of card for my son and his family. When I saw the image, I immediately thought of them and I know they’re going to love it! ;)

What the Cluck?

5/1/20 Winner at Crafty Catz!
5/3/20 Favorite at The Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge!

Hi everyone! I had a couple hours to myself this afternoon in my studio so I created a few more cards for The Outlawz Challenges. This fun card is for the Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge and the piece of the rhyme I focused on was “9, 10 A Big Fat Hen!” Sherry West Art is our sponsor this month and I snipped the chicken from her Hoppy Easter digital image set to use for a new baby card.

2020_0424001

A big fat hen it is – and how stinkin’ cute is she?! I colored the image in yellow, orange and red, cut it with a stitched circle die and added some white paint pen lines to add to the whimsical character. I used yellow and white dotted cardstock along with a thin strip of black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment using a fun stamp set in my stash, and finished the front with a few small yellow sequins.

2020_0424002

I embellished the inside with the same yellow and white dotted cardstock and thin strip of black cardstock used on the front. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

2020_0424003

And one more peek… I sure am smitten with this chicken, lol! SO cute! ;)

Tis the Season

Hello, my peeps! I’m back this morning with another card I created yesterday afternoon for The Outlawz Challenges. I’ve decided that I’m going to make ‘non-DT time’ for myself in my studio on a regular basis – I’m really enjoying this! ;) I’m playing in the Wednesday Sketch Challenge this week, and what a sketch this is! Love, love, love!

Outlawz-Wednesday-Sketch_Apr2020_2

Jan’s Digi Stamps is our sponsor this month and I’ve used her gorgeous Christmas Skates digital image with sentiments to create this card. Sketches are so cool. They pretty much take the guess-work out of creating a project, and that’s fine by me, lol!

2020_0423006

I printed the digital paper for the background and layered it on green textured cardstock. I cut the focal image with a small double-stitched die and layered it on the green textured cardstock. I printed the front sentiment and layered that panel on red glitter paper. I finished the front with red gumdrops in the right upper and left lower corners.

2020_0423007

I printed the inside sentiment and embellished the panel with some of the digital paper and the green textured cardstock used on the front.

2020_0423008

One more peek… I’m so loving how this turned out! What an awesome sketch and absolutely gorgeous digital image with sentiments!

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Enjoying some quiet time here on the sofa this evening with the hubs kicked back snoring in my left ear, lol! I’m back with another card I created this afternoon for The Outlawz Challenges. This beauty is for the new Crash Your Stash Challenge where the challenge this month is to use Ribbon from our stash. Lemon Shortbread is our sponsor and I’ve used her absolutely stunning Flowers Curls Girl digital image to create a birthday card.

2020_0423010

I started with muted mint, green and pink digital background papers, and then as I colored the image, the colors got brighter and brighter, so I pulled it all together with the checkered ribbon. I printed the digital sentiment, trimmed it and added it to the bottom right. I finished off the front with some hot pink glittered gumdrops.

2020_0423011

I printed the inside sentiment, trimmed the panel and embellished it with the digital papers used on the front.

2020_0423012

And one more look… really loving how this came together! What a gorgeous image! ;)

4/26/20 Rising Star at A Place To Start!
4/30/20 Top 3 at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday – hope you’re having a wonderful week and staying safe! I made some ‘me time’ in the studio today and created a few more cards for The Outlawz Challenges. I’m playing in the Festive Fridays Challenge this week and our sponsor is The Paper Nest Dolls. I used their Caroling Snowmen digital image to create this adorable Christmas card.

2020_0423001

I used some pretty snowflake digital paper layered on dark purple for the background. I colored the image with alcohol markers and then used one of my favorite ‘snow’ techniques. I applied Versamark over the entire surface of the image and then applied three layers of iridescent sparkle embossing powder. The final step was applying clear embossing powder to ensure that none of the sparkle would rub off the image. I layered the sparkly image on dark purple textured cardstock and adhered it to the background.

2020_0423002

I printed the snowman definition on the computer and created a tag to slide under the focal image. So cute! I finished the front with some randomly-placed snowflake sequins and tiny iridescent gemstones.

2020_0423003

I embellished the inside panel with leftover snowflake digital paper and dark purple cardstock used on the front. I printed the digital sentiment and layered it on purple cardstock as well.

2020_0423004

One more peek… so stinkin’ cute! And this card is so dang sparkly that the bright lights in the light box kind of washed out the color. Sorry about that! ;)

Vintage Mugshot ATCs

Hiya, peeps! I hope you’re having a good day! I’m super stoked to share my Ephemoire inspiration project with you this morning. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to head over to the Ephemoire Etsy Shop to check out all the amazing digital printables… there are collage sheets, digital papers, journal kits, clip art and mixed media printables, and the print quality is awesome!

I just acquired the Vintage Mugshots printables for my stash and I’m so in love with them! I laughed literally the entire time I was creating this massive set of ATCs for my collection! The offenses include larceny, indecent exposure, false pretenses and thief, lol! Hope none of these offenders are distant relatives! Bahahahaha!

2020_0421018

I printed the mugshots on 60# Hammermill copy paper, cut them apart and distressed the edges with walnut stain distress ink. I cut the cards from 100# kraft cardstock and distressed the edges with the walnut stain distress ink before adhering the mugshots to them. No embellishments. Super easy. Here are shots of each card:

Patriotic flower box

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m not posting on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog today but have popped in this morning to share an extra DT inspiration project with you, an adorable patriotic treat box I created for the July 4th holiday using the free Simply Crafty SVGs USA Banner Box cut file. I love all things patriotic and this really fits the bill!

2019_09040023a

This was one of the easiest and quickest cut files I’ve ever worked with and packs a seriously big punch. It only takes red, white and blue cardstock, a little bit of die cutting, and *poof* you have a very cool box!

2019_09040024a

My plan is to create a small red, white and blue floral arrangement for this box, and will update this post with a photo or two when that happens. ;)

2019_09040025a

I’d love to enter this box into the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers: #255 – Anything But A Card
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends: #130 – Anything Goes

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: American Crafts white cardstock, Colorbok red and blue cardstock
Dies/Punches: Simply Crafty SVGs USA Banner Box cut file

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project! Be sure to check out all the fun cut files in the Simply Crafty SVGs store – you’ll have so much fun! And there are tons of freebies to get started! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time! ;)

Happy Spring

Hi friends! Happy Monday to you! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! Handipaper is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month, created by me!

Stick-It-Down-Apr2020-Card-SketchI’ve absolutely enjoyed creating the first six card sketches for Stick It Down this year. I’m such a novice… prior to this, I had never created any sketches, so this has been great experience. Using this month’s sketch, I created a pretty Spring card. It’s about that time of year and hopefully you’re seeing some warmer weather where you are!

2019_1224001a

I used a Spring paper pad that I’ve had in my stash for several years and have only used a few sheets out of it. This year I am making an effort to use more stamps, papers and dies in my stash that have never seen the light of day, lol! These papers are just gorgeous and I was more than happy to use them, and paired them with a super adorable Bugaboo image and a digital sentiment from Imagine That Digis by Kris out of my digi stash.

2019_1224002a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover paper and cardstock used on the front. The inside sentiment is another one from Imagine That Digis by Kris.

2019_1224003a

And one more look… super happy with how this turned out. I love that image!

2019_1224004a

I’d love to enter this card into the following challenges:
Artsystamper Digitals Challenge: #14 – Springtime
Crafty Gals Corner: #206 – Easter/Spring
Double D Challenges: Showers & Flowers
Sparkles Monthly Challenge: #127 – Spring Is In The Air

Cardstock/Paper: Cardstock Warehouse Pure White cardstock, Stampin’ Up Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, First Edition Paper Spring Drop 6×6 paper pad
Stamps: Bugaboo Dollar Flower Bug digital image, Imagine That Digis by Kris Bloom Where You Are Planted

happy birthday, gorgeous

Hello again, my peeps! This is the final card I created for The Outlawz Challenges and I have to say (again) that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself! I’m playing in a couple new challenges that I’ve never played in before, and this card is for Sunday Songs and Rhymes Challenge. Our sponsor this time is Sherry West Art. The theme is about Raindrops, so I used the Stampin’ Up Beautiful You stamp set to create a one-layer card, colored with Prismacolor pencils.

2020_0417005

I lived 45 years in Florida where it rains all the time, and to be quite honest, too much rain can be depressing. The hubs and I moved out to Colorado three years ago and it hardly ever rains here, so when it does rain, it’s wonderful! Funny how things change, lol! This was a quick and easy card.

2020_0417006

There are no layers. I stamped the image and sentiments directly on the thick card base.

2020_0417007

One more look… really love the simplicity of this card! It would be super easy to reproduce to make a set to gift to a friend. ;)

2020_0417008

I’d love to enter this card into these additional challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog: #249 – Aud Sentiment’s 10th Birthday

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock
Stamps: Stampin’ Up Beautiful You stamp set
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink (pad and marker)
Accessories:  Prismacolor pencils- Goldenrod, Spanish Orange, Pale Vermilion, Poppy Red, Peach, Light Peach, Sienna Brown, Light Cerulean Blue

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and will come join us in The Outlawz Challenges! Lots of fun going on! Thanks so much for stopping by – we’ll see you next time!

Hello, gorgeous.

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a great week and have something fun planned for the weekend while #alonetogether! I’m still playing and have popped in with another card created for The Outlaws Challenges – this one is for the Twisted Thursday Challenge. All challenges are anything goes with an optional twist, and this time the twist is a map or sign. Our sponsor is STAMPlorations and I have the fun stamp set called A Girl and Her Shoes in my stash so I used it with some map paper to create a fun friendship card.

2020_0417001

I recently added several more Crafter’s Companion Die-sire Create-A-Card die sets to my stash and used one called Emma for this card. What a fun shape! Using the graduating sizes, it’s so easy to create beautiful layered cards. I cut the stamped sentiment with a circle punch and layered it on a slightly larger punched circle. I added a Tim Holtz Paper Doll and a few black gemstones to complete the front.

2020_0417002

Love, love, love the inside sentiment! The shoes are stamped off once and then the sentiment is stamped right over the shoes.

2020_0417003

One more peek… really loving how this turned out! The sentiment goes with the map paper so well, lol!

2020_0417004

Products used:
