Let It Snow card trio

Hi everyone! Happy December 1st! Can you believe this is the last month of this year?! A new challenge is launching this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #104 – Winter Wonderland! Our sponsors this month are Bugaboo Digi Stamps, Pickled Potpourri and DRS Designs, so come on over and play with us for a chance to win an amazing prize! I created a set of three adorable CAS snowman cards which completes my Christmas card stash this year!

2017_11220004aa

These were super simple and consist of a snowman image, a snowflake, a patterned paper strip and a sentiment.

2017_11220005a

I colored all the snowman blocks with Spectrum Noir markers in wintery blues and fussy cut them all. I embellished the ‘frames’ around each with white gloss Crystal Drops.

2017_11220006a

I printed the sentiment (also included with the images) three times and cut them with a fishtail sentiment strip. I added a snowflake die cut to each card.

2017_11220007a

I kept the inside super simple with just a stamped sentiment.

2017_11220009a

Here’s a final shot of all three cards together. I just love how these turned out!

Thinking of you at Christmas

** 12/8/17 Top 5 at QKR Stampede! **

Hi everyone! It’s a very fine Friday and I hope you’ve had a great week! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #17 – December Anything Goes! Come on over and play with us – we’d love to see what you’re working on!

I created a card using teal and purple – one of my favorite color combos. The front and inside sentiments are stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz ink. OMG… I’m in love with that ink! The ornament tops are die cut from Gold Mirror cardstock. Although this card is slightly different, it’s a CASE of a previous project I made last year. I really loved my original design and these dies are magnificent! If you’re interested, you can see the other project HERE.

2017_04300001a

Using the DTP method, I inked the die cuts with Island Indigo and Sugarplum ink, then covered them in Versamark and heat embossed them with Judi-Kins Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder. The sparkle is gorgeous IRL – wish it showed up in the pics!

2017_04300002a

I kept the inside simple with just a stamped sentiment on a layered panel.

note to self… relax

Hi, friends! Happy Friday AND December 1st! That means a few posts from me this morning, so get comfy and sit a spell! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #8 – Anything Goes + Fancy Fold! Anybody who knows me knows I love my fancy folds!

I created a pocket card (inspiration from my friend, Dawn) which is truly one of the most fun cards to make! I definitely see more of these in my future, lol! I love a green and turquoise color combo. The patterned paper and stamps are from Dare 2B Artzy and I love them both. The only embellishments used were Pretty Pink Posh sequins and Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Here’s a shot of the card open, revealing the pocket…

Hello, crafty peeps! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Your Scrapbook Place and I’m happy to share my GD inspiration project for the December with Christina Hor challenge using the Christina Hor ‘Coral Life’ image. This is my last guest design project for Your Scrapbook Place, and I’d like to thank Holley and the rest of the gang for having me along for the past several months! I’ve had a blast!

2017_11220002a

This is a fantastic image and as soon as I laid eyes on it, I knew what kind of card I wanted to create. One with an aperture to view the image through. :)

2017_11220001a

I cut a rectangle with rounded corners through the front of the card base and then a slightly larger one through the patterned paper, lined them up and trimmed the edges. I stamped the sentiment in the lower left corner.

2017_11220003a

I lined the colored image up with the aperture and affixed it to the inside of the card. I’m really tickled with how this turned out. So simple but yet packs a great punch!

Hero Arts Merry Thanks cards (set of 4)

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I’m posting again today on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m excited to share a set of four thank you cards I created with the Hero Arts Merry Background Christmas Digital Kit and Hero Arts Say It In Pieces Digital Greetings. Everybody needs ‘thank-you-for-the-awesome-Christmas-gifts’ cards in their stash!

I grabbed four Hero Hues Sea Mixed Folded Cards. I printed the Hero Arts Merry Background four times in block style on white cardstock and then cut the sheet in quarters.

2017_11220014a

I cut a stitched rectangle die cut panel from each quarter of the cardstock and adhered one to each card base. I printed a simple ‘thanks’ sentiment from the Say It In Pieces Digital Greetings set four times, cut them in strips,  layered them on purple cardstock and adhered one to each card front. I cut narrow strips of silver glitter paper and adhered one beneath each sentiment strip.

2017_11220015a

One final shot of the four cards. I’m really loving how these turned out!

Hero Arts Merry Christmas

** 12/6/17 Winner at Word Art Wednesday! **

Hi everyone! Hope those of you in the States had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Today is my post day on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m happy to share a DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts A Natural Holiday Digital Kit, and what an amazing array of digital images! OMG, love this kit! I also used the Hero Arts Christmas Messages stamp set for the sentiment inside. Yep, I created another Christmas card… thought I was done last week, but I still have a few more planned! I LOVE this time of year!

2017_11220010a

I started with the tree background from the A Natural Holiday Digital Kit which I resized and recolored to light gray. I overlaid the deer, cardinal and sentiment (more images from the kit), resizing and recoloring each as I added them. I trimmed the panel and layered it on black cardstock, then adhered it to the card base.

2017_11220011a

I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Messages stamp set on a white panel layered on black cardstock. Loving how this turned out, and it was quick and easy!

Reindeer Merry Christmas

Hello, my crafty friends! Well, today is my last post for my guest design gig over at Crafty Catz, and I have to say I’ve really enjoyed myself this month! Thanks you, ladies, for having me along! Our theme this week is Winter Colors and we are being sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps, so come on over and play! I created another Christmas card for my stash which I’m getting ready to mail out next week.

I colored the adorable Reindeer Blocks image in Spectrum Noir wintery blues and then used traditional Christmas colors for the rest of my clean and simple card.

2017_11200001a

I used some red glitter paper from a new DCWV Washi Tape stack I just bought and have fallen in love! The foil and glitter paper in this stack is amazing! I’ve been on a gingham paper kick and thought some green would look great on this as well. I dug through my button stash and found the perfect red heart button which I paired with some white bamboo cord.

2017_11200002a

I kept the inside super simple and just stamped a Christmas sentiment in black ink.

Seriously? art journal spread

Hi everyone! Happy Friday – I hope you’ve had a great week! I’m really excited to share an inspiration project for the Mixed Up Merchandise Printables DT. I created my second art journal spread using the most awesome 50s Ladies, Flower Seed Packets Ephemera #2 and Snarky Printables! I’ve been bitten by the art journal bug and I LIKE it, lol! UPDATE: Mixed Up Magazine has apparently undergone some changes and their blog has moved, so these links may no longer be viable.

2017_10190001a

I began by fussy cutting the lady and several sets of flowers, and set them aside. I covered both pages with a light coat of white gesso and then adhered smaller pieces of vellum with matte gel medium which made some horizontal wrinkles in the vellum and added some very cool texture. I let that dry thoroughly and then added two more light coats of gesso, letting dry between coats. Using a spatula, I applied opaque matte texture paste over a Mini Harlequin stencil on both pages and let that dry.

2017_10190002a

Then came the fun part of spritzing the pages with water, applying the Stream and Lettuce spray inks and letting them run! I used the heat tool to speed up the drying process and re-applied the inks in a few places. I then randomly stamped images in black StazOn ink over both pages, and when that was dry, I adhered the lady (colored with Spectrum Noir markers), flowers and words. I did extend the phone pillar by cutting a length of plain white cardstock on which I drew some brickwork. I outlined the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black marker and then splattered watered-down black gesso with a fan brush over both pages. I’m really loving how this turned out! Not too shabby for my second attempt at an art journal spread, huh?! :)

Would love to enter this art journal spread into the following challenges:

** 12/15/17 Highly Commended Winner at World Wide Open Design Team Challenge! **

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Another fun challenge is launching over at Crafty Catz and I’m popping in this morning with a guest designer project! The theme this week is Sparkle N Shine and our sponsor is Polkadoodles, so come on over and play with us!

I purchased this adorable image, Christmas Shopping – Winnie White Christmas, for my stash and couldn’t wait to use it! I don’t often use pre-colored images but this one was just too perfect to pass up! I cut the image with a double-stitched square die. You can’t tell in the photo, but I used Versamark and Ranger Bridal Tinsel embossing powder on the entire surface of the image to create a very special wintery sparkle.

2017_11150001a

I chose a pretty blue gingham paper for the background, along with some glitter cardstock and several different die cuts to embellish this adorable focal image. I stamped a sentiment in black ink and cut it with a fishtail die. I finished the front with a double loop bow created from beautiful wrinkled ribbon.

2017_11150002a

For the inside, I stamped a simple sentiment on a panel layered on blue cardstock. I’m so loving how this turned out!
