Vintage Treasure Box

3/10/23 Top Pick at The Outlawz Paper a la mode Challenge!
3/15/23 Site-wide Winner at The Outlawz Challenges!
3/31/23 Best Technique Winner at Classic Design Challenge Blog!

Hey everybody! I hope you’re enjoying some decent weather on this fine first day of March! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #64 – Anything Goes + optional Distressing! If you choose to play the optional twist, the distressing can be done with ink or tool. It has been ages since I’ve done any distressing with a tool, so I dug out my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser to use on the focal element and panels on my vintage treasure box. Tool distressing does warp the edges of cardstock and I think that’s why I don’t do it very often, but all in all I’m happy with how this project turned out!

I created the box from CutCardStock Re-Entry Red cardstock. I cut the panels for all four sides and the top from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock and My Mind’s Eye Tangerine 6×6 designer paper pad. I distressed the edges of all ten pieces and adhered them together and then to the box. Using the Stampin’ Up From My Heart stamp set, I stamped the focal image and cut it with a Spellbinders Standard Circles die. I die cut one additional circle from the Re-Entry Red cardstock, distressed the edges of both circles, and adhered them together and then to the top of the box.

Here’s a shot of the box opening up to reveal the three hidden trays inside. This would definitely be a fun way to gift multiple items to a friend – jewelry, trinkets, candies/chocolates or whatever! If you’re interested, this box is similar to a taller treasure box with hidden trays inside that I made several years ago HERE.

Fashion ATCs

Hey everybody! We’re mid-way through the week and I hope you’re having a good one! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #160 – Anything Goes! I felt the urge to create some more ATCs using the Grabie stickers in my stash, so I grabbed the Fashion ones along with an assortment of patterned papers and ephemera from the Keep It Simple Mango, Jade, Rose, Royal, Lemon and Lilac 12×12 Collection Packs. This kept me busy for a few minutes, lol! So much fun, and I love how they turned out!

I cut six artist trading card blanks from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and rounded the corners of each. I then cut background panels from patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Mango, Jade, Rose, Lilac, Royal and Lemon 12×12 Collection Packs. I gathered several coordinating pieces of ephemera from each pack which I added to the ATCs along with a Grabie Fashion sticker for each one. I finished them off with Eyelet Outlet enamel stars, arrows and/or hearts.

Scrappy hugs,

I sea it’s your birthday

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day! I hope you’re having a great week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Birthstone Challenges and I’m super excited to share my DT inspiration project for BSC #2 – Anything Goes with Aquamarine & Diamond Colors! This Mermaid Inchies stamp set and Nine Window Background Die (both from C.C. Designs) along with the iridescent paper were earmarked for a specific card but I missed the deadline when we got caught up in our move and my studio got torn apart. So I ended up using the supplies to make a fun birthday card for this challenge since the colors fit! This paper is so cool – the color changes depending on which angle you’re looking from!

I cut a 4-1/2″ x 5″ top folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Pop Tone Black Licorice and Pop Tone Sno Cone cardstock. It’s an odd size but I wanted it to fit the size of the background die. I stamped quite a few of the images in the stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 80# Solar White cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers. I fussy cut them all, and as I typically do with fussy-cut images, I ran a Tuxedo Black marker around the edges for a more finished look. I positioned the images in the nine windows, reserving the upper right window for the sentiment which I stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on a Solar White scrap and cut with a Spellbinders Standard Circles Small die. The finishing touch was adding a few gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Aquamarine Ripple Embellishment Mix using the Trinity Pick-Up Stick.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with the sparkling paper, Sno Cone and Black Licorice cardstock used on the front. I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) in Tuxedo Black ink.

Rejoicing with you…

Hey everybody! Well, how’s the weather where you are? Is it warming up any at all? It’s still chilly here but the bitter cold is definitely behind us. Our new challenge is live this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #49 – Anything Christmas Goes! I created a pretty bi-level card using two My Favorite Things dies sets and some Echo Park paper.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and cut the bottom portion off the front flap with a My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edges die. I applied two strips of Eyelet Outlet red and white dotted washi tape along the angled flap and stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Versatile Christmas stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I created a 3-D holly embellishment using the My Favorite Things Holly Berries dies which is the first time I’ve used this set. I employed the swiped ink technique with Catherine Pooler Grass Skirt and Rockin’ Red inks on Solar White cardstock and die cut several sets of holly leaves and berries. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet black pearls.

I stamped the inside sentiment, also from the Stampin’ Up Versatile Christmas stamp set, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added a strip of Echo Park Christmas floral paper across the bottom so it’s visible beneath the front flap and adhered another holly die cut.

Get Better Soon

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day – I hope you’re having a wonderful week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #73 – Anything Goes! Every year I try to use stamps and dies that I’ve had in my stash for a long time (many of them have never seen the light of day) and I typically do pretty well. I believe I’ve used this Band-Aids die set from My Favorite Things once, about 4-5 years ago, so I thought it was time to bring it back out for another play since it’s so stinkin’ cute! A clean and simple get well card in calming shades of blue seemed perfect!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock and rounded the lower right corner. I die cut the larger Band-Aid and accompanying elements from a scrap of the Basis Natural and colored them with alcohol markers. I stamped a sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Flourished Borders stamp set in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink.

I simply stamped a sentiment (partly masked) from the Stampin’ Up Something To Say stamp set on the inside in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink without adding any layers or embellishing strips.

Hey everybody! Happy Monday! Dang, where did the weekend go?! I have one more project to share with you today created with products from the Keep It Simple Clementine Bundle. I’ve had THE best time playing with this collection, and I’ve managed to use everything included in the bundle on the four projects I’ve made so far! It truly is one of the best bundles out there and if you haven’t checked it out, you need to! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 80# Natural cardstock along with layering panels and embellishing strip from coordinating papers in the Clementine Collection 12×12 Paper Pack. I embellished the panels with Washi Tape and Pearls, and added die cuts from the Die Cut Ephemera Sheet.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of floral paper used on the front and a sticker from the 12×12 Sticker Sheet, and layered it on CutCardStock Basis Dark Red cardstock, which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

I like Big Cups note card

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday – I hope you’ve got something fun planned this weekend! I’ve popped in this morning to share a Kat Scrappiness Creative Influencer inspiration project – and this one will likely bring a smile to your face! I used the awesome Perk Up stamps and coordinating dies along with a coffee ATC in my stash to create this note card. The sentiments in this stamp set are an absolute hoot! My nephew listened to Sir Mix A Lot’s ‘Baby Got Back’ song back in the 90s so this stamp made me chuckle, too!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft Paper and Pop Tone Black Licorice. I grabbed a STAMPlorations coffee ATC from my stash and layered the panels and the ATC down the left side of the card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Perk Up stamp set in Catherine Pooler Mandarin Spice ink on Solar White cardstock and cut it with the large coffee cup die in the Perk Up coordinating dies. I cut three more coffee cups and layered them together for a little dimension. The finishing touch was adding several Sparkling Clear Heart Droplets.

I embellished the inside with strips of CutCardStock Basis Dark Orange and Pop Tone Black Licorice cardstock. I stamped coffee beans (from the same stamp set) in the lower left corner and colored them with an alcohol marker. Since this is a note card, I left the inside blank with plenty of room to write a custom message.

3/5/23 Sweet Pick at Cupcake Inspirations!

Hi everyone! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! It sure got here fast… not that I’m complaining! I love every day of the week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Solar White Classic Linen and Classic Crest paired with Pop Tone Spearmint cardstock! I printed an absolutely gorgeous digital image from The Hungry Jpeg on 80# Classic Linen, trimmed it down and popped it up on white craft foam on a 100# Classic Linen card base. I added a foiled sentiment and some gemstones, and BOOM, a beautiful clean and simple card was made!

I printed The Hungry Jpeg’s Roses 3 digital image on Neenah Classic Linen 80# Solar White cardstock, trimmed it down to fit the card base, and cut the bottom right corner off with my Tonic corner punch. Here’s a close-up of the image so you can see how gorgeous it looks printed on the linen cardstock!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Linen 100# Solar White cardstock and cut off the bottom right corner. I adhered the digital image to a piece of Darice Foamies white craft foam and then to the card base. I added a foiled sentiment that I created with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Spellbinders Glimmer Silver Foil, and Spellbinders Glimmer Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. The finishing touch was adding several gemstones from the Trinity Andradite Sparkle Embellishment Mix with my Trinity Pick Up Stick.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White, embellished it with a leftover strip of Neenah Classic Linen 80# Solar White, and layered the panel on CutCardStock Pop Tone Spearmint cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments in Catherine Pooler Aquatini ink and cut it with the coordinating die.

Pizza-Themed Envelope Mini Album

Hey everybody! Well, another Hump Day is upon us and we’re getting more snow here in southwestern Colorado! We’ve had a couple feet of the sparkly stuff on the ground for weeks now and it’s so pretty! We’re hoping all this moisture will keep the fires away this summer. I’ve popped in this morning to share my debut inspiration project for Syncopation Design using the new Pizza Forever Bundle! Pizza is one of my all-time favorite foods (and has been for a lot of years) so this was right up my alley! I created an envelope mini album featuring papers and elements from the collection and love how it turned out!

I created the mini album base from six American Crafts A2 size dark kraft envelopes which I embellished with patterned papers printed on 32# HP copy paper and elements printed on CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock. There is a tri-fold element, a pull-up , a pull-out, and side and top pockets, with lots of room for journaling and photos. I added Eyelet Outlet green and brown pearls along with some Canvas Corp jute rope cord.

Happy Valentine’s Day mini slimline

Howdy peeps! Happy Tuesday – I hope you’re having a good week so far! I’m happy to be back to share the last ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project I created with the awesome February 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! Now we wait for the March kit, lol! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing with all the papers, stickers and upgrades in this month’s collection and created a simple mini slimline Valentine. I saved the easiest for last!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock along with a layering panel for the focal image from CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock. Using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Quilted Backdrop Die, I die cut the front panel from a pretty red floral paper in the kit. I layered one of the larger journaling cards from the kit on the black panel and adhered the piece at an angle to the card front. The finishing touch was adding two Hobby Lobby red epoxy hearts.

I cut the inside panel from Basis White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the red floral paper from the kit and Basis Black used on the front. I added a smaller journaling card from the kit which completed the card.
