Peace, Love & Sandy Feet

Hey, everybody! Happy Monday – I hope you had a great weekend! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #81 – Anything Goes! This adirondack chair is so stinkin’ cute, I can’t stand it! It was among the final large batch of SVG files I cut with my Scan N Cut prior to it dying a while back. I know I’ve mentioned before that over the years my cutting machines have lived in their boxes to keep dust off of them, and when I get them out to play, I cut a bunch files at once and then have a marathon session of putting them all together! This adorable beach chair features a pillow, a towel hanging on the back (with a sentiment), and an envelope. And it folds flat for mailing which I love!

Using the SVG Cuts Adirondack Chair SVG file and my Scan N Cut, I cut the chair from CutCardStock Twine and the pillow from a pattern in the Paper Studio Country Road 12×12 paper pad. I cut the flower from CutCardStock Pop Tone Cotton Candy and Pop Tone Spearmint, and the towel (hanging on the back) from CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock.

I stamped a sentiment on the towel from the Inspired By Stamping Seaside Sentiments stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. As I always say… the assembly is the most fun, and although there weren’t very many pieces to this project, I still enjoyed putting it together!

Let’s Take the Trip mini album

Hey everybody! I hope you’re doing well and having a wonderful weekend! I’ve stopped by this morning to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project created with the June 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I saved the best for last! Well, not really… this month’s kit was absolutely amazing and I totally love ALL the projects I created with it. But I’m especially fond of this mini album with cascading pocket pages. This is the second one of these I’ve made and this one was just as fun as the first! I used papers and stickers along with elements from all three of the upgrades. I have instructions HERE in the Freebies section of my blog if you’re interested in learning how to make this project.

I cut the album and box/lid base pieces from CutCardStock Lessebo Pitch Black cardstock along with all the layering panels from assorted prints in the collection. As with all 3D projects, the assembly is always the most fun! I used stickers from the sticker sheet along with die cut pieces, glitter foam stickers and dimensional stickers from the upgrades to embellish the album, all the pages and inserts, and the box. I used a Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Die to cut the focal element on the front of the box. It was so much fun watching this come to life!

Scrappy hugs,

I {heart} USA

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I have THE coolest Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today created with the NEW Stars & Stripes Collection that just launched a few days ago. OMGosh, I love anything Americana and this collection is amazing – we have papers, stamps, dies, die cut pieces, ribbon, and enamel stars! I created a fun gift set of a Chandler purse with 4 notelets and envelopes. I’ve made several of these purses (which make great gift bags, too, by the way) using THIS tutorial from Bearly Arts but I always put my own twist on it. I wanted to mention that the entire Stars & Stripes bundle is a whopping 20% off but unfortunately this is one of the few instances that our 10% code cannot be used.

I created the Chandler purse from CutCardStock Basis 80# White and cut layering panels from coordinating papers in the Stars & Stripes 12×12 Collection Pack. I embellished the purse with die cuts from the Stars & Stripes Die Cut Pieces and several Stars & Stripes Enamel Stars, as well as a couple old navy blue brads from my stash. I used a disc magnet as the closure which is hidden behind the floral die cut popped up on thick double-sided foam circles.

I cut four notelets from Basis White and rounded the corners. I embellished them with papers from the Stars & Stripes 6×9 Collection Pack, die cuts from the Stars & Stripes Die Cut Pieces, and Stars & Stripes Enamel Stars. I used my We R Memory Keepers Pocket Punch Board to create the envelopes from HP Premium 32 copy paper for the notelets. Oh, so fun!

And for good measure, here’s a shot of the back. I just love how this turned out!

Scrappy hugs,

Fly, Dragonfly

Hi friends! Happy Saturday – I hope your weather is as wonderful as ours is out here in southwestern Colorado! OMGoodness, just gorgeous! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #83. Our challenges are always ‘anything goes’ so come on over and play. I’m sharing another one of my little inchie albums (mini books) that are so fun to make, and this one features Gecko Galz Dragonfly Inchies!

I printed the Gecko Galz Dragonfly Dreams Jewel It 2 digital sheet on CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock and punched the eight images I wanted to use with an EK Success 1″ square punch. I crafted the album base from CutCardStock Basis 80# White 12×12 cardstock and covered it with an iridescent paper from the JeJe Sparkling Sheets pack from Paper Wishes. I added an Eyelet Outlet Dragonfly Brad before adhering the cover. The book title was printed from my laptop on Basis White cardstock, trimmed it, and colored the two pieces with a Tombow marker. I edged the sentiment pieces and added some dots using a Kirarina Wink Violet marker.

Scrappy hugs,

SUMMER banner

Hey everybody! Who is ready for SUMMER?! I am, I am! I sure do love the Summer months – the vitamin D, the beach, day rides, and the smells and sounds of Summer. Warm is okay but definitely not hot… I don’t do extreme heat in my old age. I’m stoked to be back with a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share that I created to celebrate Summer! I had it hanging on a wall in my studio before I took it down to send to the KIS owner, but it would be super easy to reproduce. Banners are so much fun and can be made in any size or shaped flags, and this one was no exception!

I cut the flags from assorted patterned papers from the Back To Basics Royal, Mango, Lemon, Rose, Jade and Lilac 12×12 Collection Packs along with a layering panel for each one cut from CutCardStock Pop Tone Black Licorice cardstock. I punched two holes in the top of each flag with my WRMK Crop-A-Dile II Big Bite. The letters were cut from the same Black Licorice cardstock using the KIS Cuts Twinkling Stars Font.

The leaves and flowers were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on scraps of Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock using stamps from the Simply Spring Collection Stamps. I colored them with alcohol markers and added some details with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. I cut them with the coordinating Simply Spring Outline Dies and adhered them, along with the letters, to the flags. I used an assortment of Back To Basics Enamel Hearts and Dots to embellish each flag, and then wove a length of Back To Basics Lemon Ribbon through each one, which completed the project. See how easy that was?!

Scrappy hugs,

Camera Mini Album

Hi everyone! Happy Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week and you’re looking forward to a weekend full of awesomeness! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the absolutley lovely May 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. The paper pad in this month’s collection is divine, as are the upgrades, and I had such fun! I’ve had my Cricut out again and created an adorable camera mini album using a cut file in my arsenal. The fun thing about this particular mini album is the hidden binding. I have several more cut files for hidden binding mini albums, so stay tuned! I don’t know when I’ll get to making the rest of them but I sure plan on it!

I cut the album cover and inside pages from CutCardStock Desert Storm cardstock and all the album elements in the cut file from CutCardStock Pop Tone Black Licorice, Sweet Tooth, Jellybean Green and Lemon Drop. I then cut layering panels from a variety of pretty papers in this month’s kit and embellished the pages with chipboard stickers, adhesive gems and washi tape from the upgrades. I made pockets for several of the pages with my WRMK Pocket Punch Board along with pull-out inserts, leaving plenty of room for photos and journaling.

Here are shots of the entire album. This was definitely a fun one!

Scrappy hugs,

Baby Boy Bun in the Oven

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I hope all the moms (to humans or furbabies) out there had a beautiful Mother’s Day! We had wonderful weather here – still a bit chilly and windy – but beautiful nonetheless! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cute oven box card with a baby boy ‘bun in the oven’ theme! I used Stardream Metallic cardstock (on sale throughout the month of May) which I paired with Lessebo cardstock. This is actually the second one of these oven box cards I’ve made so it went together pretty fast. I created the first one in a pink baby girl theme for a guest design project coming up in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned for a ‘mostly the same but slightly different’ version!

Using the Spellbinders Pop-Up 3D Vignette What’s Bakin’ Oven dies, I cut all the pieces from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Sapphire, Stardream Metallic Vista, Stardream Metallic Silver, Lessebo Ivory, Lessebo Pitch Black, Lessebo Coffee Bean, and Lessebo Cherry Red. I used Grafix Crystal Clear Acetate for the ‘glass’ in the oven door, along with pieces of Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares to pop up the cookie sheet, oven mitts and utensils.

The assembly is always the most fun part of making 3D projects and this one was no different! I used the Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies to cut a panel from Lessebo Ivory cardstock for the back of the oven. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card.

Here are a couple angled shots and two more shots showing that the top of the oven opens so the card can fold flat for mailing. I just love it!

Scrappy hugs,

Oh Baby envelope mini album

Hey everybody! I sure hope you’re having a beautiful weekend! We were outside a good part of yesterday putting up a fence around the garden to keep the deer from eating Ed’s strawberries and raspberries. Not too long ago a small herd of about 16-18 meandered into our side yard and guess where about half of them ended up?! Yep, in the garden eating the yummy fruit, lol!

In honor of National Scrapbooking Day, which was yesterday, I have a sweet Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share! I created an adorable baby-themed envelope mini album featuring our new Floral Baby Collection, new KIS Background Cuts Quilted Hearts die, and an assortment of nested dies and enamel shapes already in the store. I’ve added a tutorial for an envelope mini album to the Freebies section of my blog HERE if you’d like to make one. They are quite fun and can be made from any size envelopes!

Speaking of National Scrapbooking Day, Keep It Simple has free shipping going on all weekend and a free jar of Sprinkles with orders over $50! And don’t forget to use my code LoveToScrap2 for an additional 10% off your entire purchase! There is no minimum purchase requirement and no usage limits with the code, AND it combines with product, order, and shipping discounts!

I created the mini album from CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft envelopes and embellished all the pages with panels cut from papers in the new Floral Baby 6×9 and 12×12 Collection Packs. I used the new KIS Background Cuts Quilted Hearts die to cut front and back panels from CutCardStock Basis Soft Pink cardstock which I embellished with die cuts from the Floral Baby Die Cut Pieces.

For the inside pages, I cut ovals and rectangles from Solar White cardstock using the Back To Basics Stitched Ovals Nested Dies and Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies. I added tags from the Collection Packs along with a few more die cuts. There are also pull ups and pull outs which creates plenty of room for photos and journaling. The finishing touch was adding Back To Basics Rose Enamel Hearts and Rose Enamel Dots to the front and several of the inside pages.

Scrappy hugs,

Merry Christmas Shadow Box

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great week – we’re halfway to the weekend! Our new challenge launched this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #56 – Anything Christmas Goes! I made THE cutest little round shadow box featuring papers and die cuts from the Keep It Simple Scandinavian Christmas Collection! This could easily be used as a Christmas ornament or a wall decoration. And the coolest part is that the circle is an upcycled chipboard packaging ring from a new vacuum cleaner I bought a while back… there were three of them in the box (different sizes) and I saved them all from the landfill! Yay me! ;)

I started by covering the inside and outside of the ring with 3/4″ strips of paper from the Keep It Simple Scandinavian Christmas 6×9 Collection Pack. I used my Cricut Joy to cut a circle which I adhered to the back of the ring. I picked out several die cuts to create the little scene from the Scandinavian Christmas Gnomes and Santa & Friends Die Cut Pieces. A heart was added to the gnome’s letter popped up on a 3D foam square, and then I addded the gnome and tree on pop-up elements I made from CutCardStock Cougar 100# Smooth White cardstock.

I framed the sentiment on a scrap of red patterned paper from the Collection Pack and popped it up on a 1″ double-sided foam strip. I framed the ring with alternating drops of Nuvo Wedgewood Blue and Ivory Seashell Crystal Drops, and added a bow and hanger from Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine.

Here’s a shot of the back. I covered the ends of the twine hanger with a small stitched circle cut from the same paper using a Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Die, which completed the project. So fun!

Scrappy hugs,

Earrings Galore!

Hey everybody – a very Happy Monday to you all! I made my daughter-in-law a bunch of dangle earrings back in February and wanted to share them. I made some of them from craft leather and some from cardstock, and some were cut with my Cricut and some were cut with dies. They all turned out pretty cool and she said she loved them! Oh, and I cut all the earring cards with my Cricut also, using a free earring card SVG cut file on Cricut Design Space and CutCardStock Twine cardstock. I tweaked the length and wideth to make the cards different sizes.

These four pairs were made from Taylored Expressions craft leather, CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil and Curious Metallic Gold Leaf cardstock, and several Designer Dangles die sets. The fringe earrings were embellished with Kat Scrappiness Silver Pearl Mix. TE no longer carries the craft leather or the Designer Dangle die sets; I’ve had mine for several years and I’m so glad I got them when I did!

These two pairs were cut with my Cricut Explore Air 2 from Taylored Expressions craft leather using the FREE Printable Cuttable Creatables Classic Earrings SVG cut file. A two-fer… the first pair features the outsides and the second pair features the insides! I almost threw the inside pieces away when I took them off my cutting mat and thought ‘No way – I’m gonna make another pair out of these!’

These two pairs were cut from cardstock using two sets of Taylored Expressions Designer Dangles. The blue ones were cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Vista and Stardream Metallic Sapphire cardstock, embellished with gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Sparkling Sapphire Embellishment Mix. The green ones were cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Fairway and Curious Metallic Aloe cardstock, embellished with Eyelet Outlet 3mm and 5mm green pearls. Gemstones and pearls were applied with my Trinity Stamps Pick Up Stick.

These four pairs were cut with my Cricut Explore Air 2 from cardstock using the FREE Printable Cuttable Creatables July 4th Earrings and Scroll Earrings SVG cut files. The three Americana pairs were cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Jupiter, Stardream Metallic Pluto and Stardream Metallic Sapphire cardstock. The scroll earrings were cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Vista cardstock and embellished with Eyelet Outlet 4mm blue pearls (applied with my Trinity Stamps Pick Up Stick).
