Book of Spells & Potions mini album

Hi everyone! It’s Hump Day and I hope you have a good one! I’m happy to be back today to share another DT inspiration project for ScrapbookingStore, created with the amazing October 2022 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! Have I mentioned that I really like the coordinating papers and stickers in October’s kit?! Sure makes creating projects a breeze! Mini albums are at the top of my list of loves, and I made a super cute Halloween mini album. Each page has a tag tucked into a pocket so there is plenty of room for photos and journaling!

I created a 3” square mini album from a sheet of 12×12 American Crafts Black cardstock and adhered a 2-3/4” square panel cut from a variety of patterned papers from the collection to the front and to each page, with an additional piece cut for the spine. I added a ‘Book of Spells and Potions’ sticker to the front and a sentiment sticker to each page. Using the Stampin’ Up Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and American Crafts Dandelion and Key Lime, Neenah Crest Solar White, and CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Aquamarine cardstock, I created a tag for each page and tied twine to the top of each.

Floral Mini Album

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday to you all! I hope you are having a great week so far! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #158 – Anything Goes! You know how I love me some mini albums, and I created this pretty floral one using the Sizzix Bigz Mini Album and Sizzix Mini Album Thinlits. As I always say with projects like this – the assembly is the most fun part! ;)

I die cut the album and pages from STAMPlorations Spring Florals A2 Card Fronts and Darice Dots and Stripes cardstock. Using a variety of Sizzix and CUTplorations dies, I die cut elements from Solar White cardstock, CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock, CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock and Darice Dots and Stripes cardstock to embellish the pages. Several of the pages inside have pull-up tags. I added an arrow and gemstones to the front which completed the album.

And one more overhead angled peek… I sure do love how this turned out! There is plenty of room for photos and journaling!

Summer Memories Envelope Mini Album

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday to you – I hope you’re having an awesome week! I’m thrilled to be back on the Printable Cuttable Creatables blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! If you know me, you know I love to make mini albums and gift them so others can document those wonderful memories! My project today is a mini album featuring the Busy Bee Digital Paper Pack and Sweet Sunflowers SVG Cut File made with envelopes. Yep, you read that right – an envelope mini album! So fun!

I started by making the mini album base from four A2 size heavyweight kraft envelopes. You can use as many envelopes as you want and any size you want. If you’ve never made one, here’s how to do it: Lay the first envelope down in front of you with the flap up and pointed toward the right. Bend the flaps on the remaining three envelopes backwards and set two of them aside. With the flap now up, insert the flap of the second envelope into the opening of the first envelope, then fold the envelope toward the left. Repeat the process with the third and fourth envelopes. You’ll be left with the flap from the first envelope pointing toward the right. Score it (measuring the thickness of the rest of the envelopes), fold it over, and adhere it.

Now, to decorate it… I printed eight different patterns from the Busy Bee Digital Paper Pack, trimmed the panels and adhered one to each side of the pages. I created six sunflower elements from the Sweet Sunflowers SVG Cut File using the print and cut function on my Scan N Cut, which I used to embellish each page along with some other elements. There are round, oval, rectangular, flip-up, flip-out, and tag elements with plenty of room for photos and journaling. And there’s a little bit of bling on each page. I decorated the front and back with curved die cut panels, and added washi tape, a brad, some bling, and die cut alphas to the front, which completed the project.

Motivational Artist Trading Coin Mini Album

6/30/22 Best Technique Winner at Classic Design Challenge Blog!
7/20/22 Top 3 at ATC Around the World!

Hey everybody! Happy Huuuump Day! Hope you’re having a great week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring more of our Pop Tone cardstock, which I absolutely love. You know how much I love me some ATCs (artist trading cards/coins/cubes)… and I thought it would be fun to make a mini album of motivational double-sided coins! I used several colors of Pop Tone cardstock that I paired with a variety of Doodlebug Design patterned papers for the coins, and various other supplies to embellish them.

I started by punching six artist trading coins from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock using my Fiskars 2-1/2″ circle punch. Next, I punched 12 circles (using the same Fiskars 2-1/2″ circle punch) from Doodlebug Design Hello Spring, Swiss Dot Rainbow Petite Prints, Gingham-Linen Rainbow Petite Prints and Nifty Notions Double-Sided 6×6 Papers. Using several dies and a scalloped circle punch, I cut a variety of shapes from Pop Tone Banana Split, Berrylicious, Blue Raspberry, Cotton Candy, Gumdrop Green and Spearmint cardstock.

I adhered a patterned paper circle and a Pop Tone cardstock shaped element to each side of all six coins. I punched a hole at the top of each coin with my WRMK Crop-A-Dile Big Bite and added a clear hole reinforcement to each. Next, I added 49 and Market botanical laser cuts, Eyelet Outlet pearls or gemstones, and a Tim Holtz Small Talk sentiment sticker to each side of all six coins. The final step was fastening the coins together with a tiny gold ball chain and clasp.

And one more look… totally loving how this project turned out! Would be super adorable pinned to a bulletin board showing a different motivational sentiment every day!

Bee Happy Shaker Accordion Album

Hi peeps! Happy Saturday – I hope you had a great week! Can you believe we’re almost a week into June already?! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! Bees are all the rage it seems so I created a fun bee-themed shaker accordion album featuring our Geo Pattern Wood Accordion Shaker Album and Mini Shaker Bee which happens to be one of the newer mini shakers in the store. Gotta love all these shaker compartments everywhere you look, lol! ;)

I had some digital papers in my stash with bees and sunflowers (my favorite flower) so I printed several of them to cover the album pages. I added space for photos and/or journaling on each page, with a flip-up, a couple tags and a side-flip, all embellished with cut-outs, die cuts, glitter washi tape and/or gemstones. I connected the pages with jute rope.

And one more look… really loving how this turned out! The album and mini shaker are such fun products to play with!

Coffee Lovers Mini Album

4/17/22 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a Coffee Lovers Mini Album using our Blank Wood Card and Mini Shaker Coffee Mug with lots of room for photos and journaling! This is the coolest little shaker – it has three compartments for shaker bits! I had loads of fun putting this together even though I’m not a huge coffee drinker. Ed and I each have two cups every morning. Once in a while he’ll have an afternoon cup when it’s cold outside but since it keeps me awake at bedtime, I’ll join him with a cup of hot apple cider instead! ;)

I started by painting both sides of the Blank Wood Card panels with Java chalk paint and once dry, I lightly sanded the panels to expose the edges and corners for a little bit of a distressed look. I colored the top chipboard form of the Mini Shaker Coffee Mug along with the edges of the remaining forms and back with alcohol markers. I adhered pieces of three different patterns of Coffee Background ATCs from my stash to the chipboard back so they’re visible through the apertures. Then, working up from the bottom, I adhered the next two chipboard forms. I added shaker blends to the three compartments, removed the protective film from the bottom side of the acrylic divider, and adhered it. I removed the protective film from the top side of the acrylic divider, adhered the top chipboard form, and adhered the shaker to the top of the mini album. I added two coffee bean brads (prongs removed) with distress collage medium to complete the front of the album.

I cut four pages for the inside and punched holes in the tops. I created hole reinforcements using two circle punches, colored them with an alcohol marker, and adhered them to both sides of each page. Using a variety of cardstock, ATCs and other ephemera, dies, clear stickers, and brads, I decorated each page. The assembly is always the most fun to me! ;)

And here’s a shot of the back after I added the rings and ribbon.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! The sky is the limit with what you can create with the blank wood card! And there are tons of mini shakers to choose from! Lots of fun!

I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas – it’s so hard to believe that it has come and gone! Scrappy hugs,

Do I really need more shoes?!

Hey, everybody! Well, another weekend has come and gone, and here we are facing Monday again! But that’s okay as far as I’m concerned… a crafty day is a good day, and it doesn’t matter what day of the week it is! I’m thrilled to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! Those who know me know that I am passionate about two things: (1) fun folds and (2) shoes! ;) Well, actually three things: (1) cats – we rescue, (2) fun folds and (3) shoes! When I married my kids’ dad many moons ago, I had nearly 60 pairs and he just couldn’t understand it, lol! I don’t have nearly that many now but I still reminisce about the good ol’ days when I had a pair in every color imaginable to coordinate with every outfit. So out came the Acrylic Tag Album to document those memories! This was a fun project!

I cut different colors and patterns of paper for every page, hand-cut in a whimsical fashion, leaving just a tad bit of the clear acrylic showing on all edges. I die cut labels and stitched ovals for each page and layered the white stitched ovals on the label die cuts. I stamped different shoes (including boots and flip flops) with sentiments on the ovals and colored them with alcohol markers to coordinate with the patterned paper on that page. I created hole reinforcements with two circle punches and tied the pages together with purple wrinkled ribbon embellished with a shoe charm from my stash. I added tiny iridescent gemstones to each page to finish the album.

One more look… so loving how this turned out! Great selection of shoes, boots and flip flops – had to cover all bases, lol!

welcome fall mini album

12/3/21 Top 3 at Crafty Calendar Challenge!

Hi friends! Happy Hump Day! We’ve had several vet visits over the past week and one of our most recently rescued 10-week-old kittens has been at the vet since Monday morning. We’re praying for a good outcome, and if you’re the praying type, we’d appreciate some prayers. Please and thank you. <3 Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! We’re still loving our Fall weather out here (even though it gets pretty darn chilly at night) and I thought it only appropriate to share a super cute little mini album with you today, documenting a trip to Silverton, CO, several years ago in October, not long after we moved out here in May. The changing of the leaves in Colorado is just breath-taking!

I’ve had this adorable set of Sizzix Mini Album Thinlits in my stash for a while and had never used it, so I thought it would be a good time to play! I cut the mini album base from Cardstock Warehouse Brown Box Kraft cardstock and all the layering panels for the pages from Nikki Sivils Tree Love 6×6 Mini Pad (an oldie in my paper stash). I printed the photos from my phone onto glossy photo paper, cut them with My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX Die-namics and set them aside. Using the same set of Mini Album Thinlits, I cut the elements for each page from CutCardStock Basis Dark Red cardstock, CutCardStock Pop-Tone Hot Fudge cardstock, and Nikki Sivils Tree Love 6×6 Mini Pad. I added a leaf charm on a piece of jute cord tied in a bow to hold the album together, added the title on the front (cut from the Brown Box Kraft with the Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower Thinlits), and then finished it up with some gold flat-back pearls. As you can imagine, the most fun was putting it together… I’m so smitten! I absolutely love how it turned out!

Christmas Memories Accordion Album

Howdy, peeps! I hope you have an awesome April Fools Day today! Our April challenge is live over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #48 – Anything Goes + No Stamping! All of our challenges are ‘anything goes’ and we offer a technique twist each month just to inspire you. Our twist this month is ‘no stamping’ and the twist is not required to play! I created a fun Christmas Memories accordion album which has no stamping and is decorated entirely with PhotoPlay elements and die cuts. I love creating mini albums and since Christmas is on it’s way again, I thought it would be fun to create one with a Christmas theme! Yep, I’m always in Christmas mode even if it is only April, lol!

I created a 4-1/2″ square accordion album base from vanilla cardstock with eight pages. I cut eight panels from Christmas patterned paper which I layered on slightly larger green cardstock panels and adhered one to each page. I die cut squares and circles from the vanilla cardstock and adhered them to several of the pages. I decorated the front, back, the inside panels and belly band with PhotoPlay Christmas elements.

And one more look… Totally loving how this turned out!
