get WELL soon

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day – hope you’re all having a great week! Today is my post day on the Paper Wings Productions blog and I’m happy to share a DT inspiration project using the Flower Power stamp set along with the Sayings and Sentiments stamp set, Perfect Pearls and a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Buckle. I created a pretty get well card with a vintage feel.

I stamped several flowers from the Flower Power stamp set randomly over white cardstock with the Perfect Medium in the Perfect Pearls Jewel kit. The Perfect Medium stamped in a light brown which I thought was odd because I remembered it stamping clear the last time I used it several years ago, lol! I applied the green, blue, red and purple Perfect Pearls powders anyway and got a muted vintage look to all the colors. I guess that’s what happens when you use ‘aged’ Perfect Medium, lol! But I sure like the way it turned out! I lightly misted the panel with water to bind the powders so they don’t rub off. I cut the background and the rest of the white and brown bag cardstock layers with the matting dies.

2017_09040008a

I stamped the sentiment in Frayed Burlap distress ink on a narrow strip of white cardstock cut with a matting die from the same set, layered it on the brown bag cardstock, added a buckle and adhered it to the front. I finished the front with several flat-back pearls.

2017_09040009a

For the inside, I decorated the white layered panel with a leftover strip of the stamped florals and kraft cardstock used on the front. I left the inside blank for a handwritten message.

Let me side-track you for a moment to showcase my projects. I created a set of two masked ‘Thanks’ note cards – one in warm colors with gold mirror cardstock accent and one in cool colors with silver mirror cardstock accent – using the FABulous Art Textures and Sayings and Sentiments stamp sets along with a variety of distress oxide inks. Oh my gosh… a good inky time was had by all!

2017_08290007a

These were super easy CAS cards. I cut a piece of white cardstock in quarters and used two of them (one for each card). I tore two pieces of masking paper about two inches longer than the cardstock quarter and masked part of the left side and most of the right side of the cardstock piece, anchoring it down to my craft sheet with the extra inch of masking paper on the top and bottom. This left a vertical ‘channel’ of cardstock which I inked with three colors of distress inks, overlapping and blending as I went. I then randomly stamped all the images in the Art Textures stamp set in black ink, covering the inked cardstock ‘channel’. When I was happy with the result, I carefully removed the masking paper and trimmed the inked/stamped portion, leaving a narrow margin of white on both sides. I adhered that to the mirror cardstock and trimmed it again, leaving a narrow margin of mirror cardstock on both sides. I adhered the trimmed piece to the card base and then stamped the sentiment from the Sayings and Sentiments stamp set in the lower right corner with the black ink.

2017_08290002a

For the inside, I adhered a strip of the mirror cardstock down the left side of a white panel and then layered the panel on colored cardstock. I left the inside blank to write a custom message. I finished the front with several dots of Crystal Drops.

Here are pics of the other card in cool colors, created the same way.

Let it Snow

Hi everyone! I’m back yet again this morning, this time to showcase a guest designer project for the September Anything Goes challenge over at Your Scrapbook Place! One of my cards was a winner a few weeks back and the lovely Holley invited me to be a guestie for the next several challenges! Of course, I couldn’t say no, lol! We are being sponsored this month by Pickled Potpourri and I created a Double Fun Fold using the Christmas Window image. OMG, I’m so smitten! This was great fun! I was very happy to have Santa and his reindeer in my rubber stamp stash to compliment the image.

2017_08140001a

The focal image on the front opens to the right to reveal a stamped sentiment on the tall panel beneath.

2017_08140002a

Then the tall panel opens upward to reveal yet another stamped sentiment and cozy cabin image! How cute is this fold?! Love, love, love! Thanks, Dawn, for the inspiration! <3

Just give it some time.

Hello again, crafty friends! You can’t get rid of me yet, lol! A new challenge over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog is live this morning and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #5 – Anything Goes + Inlaid Die Cut! I created a pretty CAS encouragement note card using stamps and dies from Stampin’ Up, and pretty Doodlebug Design papers. I thoroughly enjoyed myself – this was very therapeutic. I love dragonflies anyway, and it was just lots of fun picking out the papers and inlaying the die cut pieces!

2017_07130001a

I’ve been on a CAS kick lately, making cards I would have never seen myself making a few years ago. CAS has always been challenging because I like big bows (I cannot lie) and lots of layers, lol! I’m really pleased with how this one turned out. I LOVE these Doodlebug Design papers because they are so soft and made the prettiest dragonflies! I finished the front with a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins, and left the inside blank to write a custom note.

Make Today Amazing

Hi everyone! I’m baaaaack! The first of the month always means a few posts from me, so grabba cuppa and chill out with me for a bit, lol! A new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #14 – September Anything Goes! I created a fun box card using a fairly minimal supply list. I love it when that happens! And how stinkin’ cute is this?!

1-Leslie

Seems I can’t get enough of my Scan N Cut over the past several months and I’m making all kinds of fun projects. Because I’ve bought a gazillion cut files. My hubby thinks I’m nuts, lol! I’m absolutely smitten with this cut file from SVG Cuts!

2017_06070015a

It doesn’t get any easier than this – a couple pieces of cardstock and a couple pieces of coordinating patterned paper. I cut the flowers from white cardstock and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. The centers were cut from a scrap of Glitter Silk cardstock.

2017_06070016a

The back of the card has a cut-out that reveals a stamped sentiment. Love, love, love!

2017_06070017a

Here’s a shot of the card with it’s matching envelope, also included in the cut file.

2017_06070018a

And a final shot showing that it folds flat for mailing! I see a few more of these in my future, lol!

A Million & One Thanks

Hi everyone! Happy September 1st to you all! Hard to believe, I know. Another fun challenge is live over at Craft for the Craic and I’m happy to share my GD inspiration project for the Autumn Colors challenge. This is my last guest project with this wonderful team of Irish ladies. I cannot believe a full year has gone by since the lovely Eithne invited me to join the team as a guest designer. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself and thank them from the bottom of my heart!

I’ve created a Double Gate Fold in lots of autumnal colors. Inspiration for this card came from my friend Dawn. SO MUCH FUN! I absolutely L-O-V-E this fold!

2017_07130037a

These gorgeous double-sided papers and stamps are all from Stampin’ Up. This is a close-up of the belly band which goes around the card to keep it nicely folded. Lots of die cuts used with the front sentiment.

2017_07130038a

Belly band off… card beginning to open.

2017_07130039a

First gate fold open to reveal another sentiment and more die cuts.

2017_07130040a

And a close-up…

2017_07130041a

Second gate fold open to reveal yet another sentiment on the inside with more die cuts and a few dots of Crystal Drops. I have to apologize for the ‘wonky’ position of the fold on the bottom right. No matter how hard I tried, it would not behave and I couldn’t get a photo of it straight!

2017_07130042a

And a close-up of that one… Did I tell you how much fun this was and how much I love this fold, lol?!

Paper Wings Productions Design Team!

Woo-hoo! Got some awesome news to share… it’s so hard keeping secrets and I can finally blab! I’ve joined the Paper Wings Productions design team! SO excited to be creating along side these wonderful ladies! Check out the official reveal post HERE!

paper-wings-snippet

For my DT reveal project, I created a friendship card using the absolutely gorgeous Butterfly Panel Clear Stamp Set. I started by cutting a white card base and then cut two additional panels in a light purple cardstock and a darker shade of purple patterned paper which coordinates with the floral patterned paper strip I picked out for the inside. I used a scallop edge die to cut the bottom of the card base and the purple panels.

2017_08250004a

I stamped the butterfly in Versamark on the light purple panel and heat embossed it in gold. I colored the flowers and butterfly with Zigs, and then adhered the layered panels on top of each other.

2017_08250005a

I stamped the verse on a white panel, trimmed it, embellished it with a strip of the darker purple patterned paper used on the front and layered it on a piece of dark purple cardstock. I adhered the floral paper to the inside bottom so it would peek out from underneath the scalloped edge on the front. I finished the front with several dots of purple Crystal Drops.

2017_08250006a

And here’s one final shot of the verse. I just love this!

Hero Arts Peacock hello

Hi everyone! Happy Friday – hope you’ve had a good week! Today is my post day on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m happy to share a DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts Color Layering Peacock stamp set, Hero Arts Peacock Layering Inks and Versamark. I’ve created an all-occasion card in one of my (many) favorite color combos of blue and green, and this card could be used for birthday, encouragement or just because. These color layering stamps and accompanying sentiments are amazing!

Before I get to my project details, we’ve had quite a few of the Hero Arts color layering stamp sets sell out recently and this was one of them. I work ahead and had this card made prior to this stamp set selling out, but I have good news – you can special order it at no extra cost when you order your other Hero Arts stamps from a2Z Scrapbooking!

2017_07130010a

I created the background by stamping a peacock feather and several swirl designs in Versamark randomly over a piece of green cardstock which I layered on silver mirror cardstock. It’s been a long while since I’ve used Versamark as a watermark and I really like the look! Next, for the focal image, I stamped the peacock and simple sentiment on white cardstock, trimmed it and layered it on silver mirror cardstock and then on a navy blue panel with a scallop border on each side. I centered this on the watermark background and then adhered the panel to the card base.

2017_07130011a

I decorated the inside panel with two narrow strips of navy blue cardstock, stamped the sentiment and layered the panel on green cardstock. I’m really loving how this turned out!

2017_07130012a

I’d love to enter this card into the following challenges:
Deep Ocean Challenge Blog: #162 – Fave Color Combo (blue and green)
Little Miss Muffet Challenges: #170 – Anything Goes
Not Just Cards Challenge Blog: #47 – Anything Goes
The Sisterhood of Crafters: Anything Goes

Ink: Hero Arts Peacock Layering Inks, Versamark

Cardstock/Paper: Stampin’ Up Thick and regular Whisper White, Night of Navy and Garden Green cardstock, Marco’s Silver Mirror cardstock
