Hey Cookie, What’s Bakin’

Hey everybody! Happy first day of June! We’re almost officially half done with the year – can you believe it?! My baby girl romper card won a Top 5 spot over at Scrapping4fun Challenges several weeks ago and I was invited to guest design for Challenge #236 – Anything Goes! I created another box card with a ‘bun in the oven’ theme using the same Spellbinders 3D Vignette dies that I used to create the baby boy card last month. I couldn’t very well make one for a boy and not one for a girl, right?! There is one very subtle difference between the two, and that is the placement of the cookie sheet and mitt on the oven top. I was adding this project to my spreadsheet and noticed that it’s been almost 10 years since my first guest spot with Scrapping4fun Challenges – it’s amazing how fast the time flies when you’re having so much fun!

Using the Spellbinders Pop-Up 3D Vignette What’s Bakin’ Oven dies, I cut all the pieces from CutCardStock Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink, Lessebo Blossom, Lessebo Ivory, Lessebo Pitch Black, Lessebo Coffee Bean, Lessebo Cherry Red and Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock. I used Grafix Crystal Clear Acetate for the ‘glass’ in the oven door, along with pieces of Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares to pop up the cookie sheet, oven mits and utensils.

I always say the assembly of 3D projects is the most fun and this was a blast watching it come together. I used the Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies to cut a panel from Lessebo Ivory cardstock for the back of the oven. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card.

Here are a couple angled shots and one more showing that the top of the oven opens so the card can fold flat for mailing. The details on this are amazing!

Alphabet ATCs

Hi friends! Happy Thursday and almost end of May! Can you believe the year is almost half over?! I’m absolutely delighted to share another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with items in the new Floral Baby Collection! It’s been a minute since I made any ATCs so I crafted a set of six alphabet cards and coins. We have a Bunny, Jellyfish, Snail, Elephant, Turtle and Crab, all featuring Floral Baby Papers, KIS Cuts Land Babies and KIS Cuts Water Babies along with KIS Cuts Melody Stories Font. I love how these turned out!

I created the four 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ card bases and two 2-1/2″ coin bases from CutCardStock Cougar 100# Smooth White cardstock. I then picked out an assortment of patterned papers from the Floral Baby 6×9 Collection Pack for the backgrounds. Then the fun began… die cutting all the pieces for the Bunny, Jellyfish, Snail, Elephant, Turtle and Crab from cardstock using the KIS Cuts Land Babies and KIS Cuts Water Babies.

The assembly is always the most fun! I’ll list the cardstock used for each one below. I had some small CutCardStock Sandcastle scraps so I scribbled them with a black Copic Sketch marker and cut the six letters from the KIS Cuts Melody Stories Font. I used an assortment of Enamel Hearts and Dots on each one.

Scrappy hugs,

Thanks For Being My Best Friend

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day – I hope you’re having a great week! I’ve popped in this morning with another Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share created with the adorable My Best Friend stamp set released in January. This is another one of the oodles of projects I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. Yep, that’s what happens when you work so far ahead but I’ve had a large time sharing them all with you! I created a double dutch door fun fold which is definitely an oldie but goodie. I have two versions in my tutorial arsenal – one with half doors underneath and one with full doors underneath – and this is the one with the full doors. I love how it turned out!

This card is a standard A2 size and I cut the card base from CutCardStock Lessebo Navy Blue along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the Keep It Simple Max & Daisy Flip Sides and Collection Packs. I stamped the pooch in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on CutCardStock Lessebo cardstock, colored him with alcohol markers, and fussy cut him. I cut the frame from CutCardStock Lessebo Dawn Maroon cardstock using the Keep It Simple Polaroid Die and framed the pooch on a Lessebo White panel popped up on foam squares behind the frame.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, cut it into strips and adhered it at the bottom of the frame. The finishing touch was adding a few red gemstones. I left the inside panels bare sans a paw print heart from the same stamp set that I also colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.

I cut the inside panel from Lessebo White and embellished it with a leftover strip of the patterned paper used on the front. I added a stamped and trimmed sentiment, and layered the panel on Lessebo Dawn Maroon.

MOM slimline card

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday! I’ve popped in this morning with a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project featuring our new KIS Slimline Cuts Stitched Hearts die, some gorgeous floral paper from the new Belle Collection and our new KIS Cuts Twinkling Stars Font Outline Dies. This card has some fussy-cut roses popped up on foam squares and could easily be used for Mother’s Day or Mom’s birthday!

My go-to size 3-3/4″ x 9″ slimline card base was cut from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil and Lessebo Dawn Maroon cardstock. I cut the top layering panel from a floral paper in the Belle Collection using the KIS Slimline Cuts Stitched Hearts die.

I fussy cut four rose clusters which I popped up on foam squares and then added the word MOM cut from the gold foil cardstock using the KIS Cuts Twinkling Stars Font Outline Dies. The finishing touch was adding several pearls from the Kat Scrappiness Gold Pear Mix.

I cut the inside panel from Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the floral paper from the Belle Collection and the Dawn Maroon cardstock. I stamped a sentiment using the Back To Basics Birthday Sentiments stamp set in Memento Paris Dusk ink.

Scrappy hugs,

Dragonflies for Good Luck

Hey everybody! I hope you had a great weekend! If you’re in the States, today is Memorial Day so please take a moment to remember, honor and mourn all the American soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. On a lighter note, I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a fun one-piece Z-fold card. Stardream Metallic has been on sale this month for 10% off, so I used the gorgeous Stardream Metallic Flame which I paired with Bright Gold Foil and Solar White for this good luck card. I’ve always made Z-folds with separate strips so I thought it would be fun to simplify the design into one piece. I added my instructions for this one-piece Z-fold to the Freebies section of my blog HERE if you’d like to make one.

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110% Solar White and layering panels from Stardream Metallic Flame and Bright Gold Foil cardstock. I stamped four dragonflies on Solar White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink using the Pajama Crafter Stamps Dainty Dragonflies stamp set by Prickley Pear Stamps. I colored them with ultra fine point Sharpies and cut them with the coordinating Dainty Dragonflies die set. I adhered the bottom right dragonfly to an acetate strip to give the illusion of flight.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set in Catherine Pooler Orange Peel ink and cut it with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes die set. For a little visual interest, I layered three small stitched circles and one slightly larger one (all cut with the Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Dies) on which I adhered the sentiment. I added the dragonflies and several pearls from the Kat Scrappiness Gold Pearl Mix which completed the card front.

I stamped another sentiment from the same stamp set in orange ink, cut it with a stitched rectangle (cut with a Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies) and layered it on a slightly larger rectangle cut from the Flame cardstock.

Scrappy hugs,

hello Spring fun fold

Hey everybody! I hope you’ve had a great week! I have a pretty Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today created with papers, stamps, dies and die cut pieces from the new Simply Spring Collection! The front flap fold is probably one of my all-time favorite fun folds because it’s so easy and really packs a punch. Who isn’t ready for Spring (finally) after the cold weather we had that just wouldn’t quit, lol!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Cougar 100# Smooth White cardstock along with layers from coordinating prints in the Simply Spring 12×12 Collection Pack. I embellished the front with Simply Spring Die Cut Pieces and several Back To Basics Jade Enamel Dots. I scored the two butterflies so the wings would give the illusion of flight.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock cougar 80# Smooth White cardstock which I embellished with a few more die cuts from the Simply Spring Die Cut Pieces. I stamped a sentiment from the Simply Spring 6×8 Collection Stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut it with the coordinating Simply Spring Outline Dies.

Scrappy hugs,

All Gave Some

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday to you – I hope you’re looking forward to some fun this weekend! I’ve popped in with another Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share today created with the Some Gave All stamp set. This is another project I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. I thought it was fitting to share it this month with Memorial Day coming up on Monday — the most somber of US holidays honoring heros who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. It’s not a ‘happy’ day or one to celebrate with a BBQ or party, and it shouldn’t be mistaken for Veteran’s Day which honors very much alive heros who are currently serving or have served in the past. This is a super easy design with two rounded corners and the focal panel layered on glitter paper.

The card base was cut from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# white cardstock and the upper left and lower right corners rounded. I stamped the flag and sentiment from the Some Gave All stamp set in Memento Espresso Truffle ink on Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers, and layered it on Stampin’ Up Red Glimmer paper.

Scrappy hugs,

Just a Note

Howdy peeps, Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! I’ve popped in this morning with a Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share featuring several Prickley Pear Stamps products. I used the Flourished Oval Spring and Birdcage stamp sets along with the Flourished Oval die. This is another project I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. I learned about this multi diamond panel from a tutorial at Beccy’s Place HERE and thought it would be a great background to showcase the stamped and die cut Spring flourished oval. I totally love a green and pink color combo, and the square/diamond geometric shapes look so polished!

I cut the square card base from CutCardStock Lessebo Sweet Mint cardstock along with a large layering panel from Lessebo White. The diamond panels were cut from Lessebo Sweet Mint, Pop Tone Jellybean Green and Lessebo Bubble Gum cardstock along with slightly larger panels to layer beneath them from Lessebo White. I stamped the focal image from the Prickley Pear Stamps Flourished Oval Spring stamp set on CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers, and cut it with the coordinating Flourished Oval die. The finishing touch was adding Eyelet Outlet pink pearls to the corners.

I cut the inside panel from Lessebo White cardstock and embellished it with Lessebo Sweet Mint, Pop Tone Jellybean Green and Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink cardstock strips, and stamped a sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Birdcage stamp set in black ink.

V-Cut Sympathy Card

Hi everyone! Happy Monday – the weekend sure went by fast, didn’t it?! I have one more ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the amazing May 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. The black and white floral print in this month’s kit really caught my eye and I knew I wanted to use it without any other patterned papers. I created a pretty sympathy card with a little pop of color from one of the washi tape patterns in the upgrades, and I really like how this turned out.

A standard A2 top-folding card base was cut from CutCardStock Basis Soft Pink cardstock. The V-cut panels were cut from the black and white floral paper in this month’s kit which I embellished with the black and multi-color patterned washi tape in the upgrades and some narrow cardstock strips cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the Trinity Stamps A Sentiment For (Almost) Everything stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the right side of the V prior to adhering the top panel which I popped up on foam squares.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the floral print used on the front and stamped a sentiment in black ink from the Scrapbook.com Friendly Bouquets stamp set.

Good Vibes angled center step card

Hey everybody! Happy Weekend – I hope you’re having a good one! I’ve popped in this morning with another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project created with the awesome May 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. You know how I love me some fun folds and I’ve created my first-ever angled center step card. A lady in one of my stamping forums shared a tutorial but I couldn’t get her measurements to work for me, so I re-worked them and came up with my own tutorial which I will post in the Freebies section of my blog soon if you’re interested in trying this fold, so check back in a few days.

The card base was cut from CutCardStock Basis 80# Natural cardstock. Layering panels were cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Dark Amazon Teal cardstock along with two coordinating prints in this month’s kit. I added two large chipboard stickers from the upgrades along with die cut sun and clouds (using Lawn Fawn Center Picture Window Card Dies) to create the mini scene. I added two adhesive gemstones from the upgrades which completed the card front.

I embellished the back panel with a strip of patterned paper used on the front and an additional chipboard sticker for the sentiment.
