Square Striped Welcome

Howdy peeps! Well, this week is coming to a close and I hope you’ve had a good one! I’m happy to be back to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project with you today, created with the amazing April 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I like to make my own backgrounds with cut strips of patterned paper, and the variety of papers in this month’s collection makes that really simple to do. I created a square panel of diagonal stripes which I cut into four pieces. I rotated a couple of them to come up with a unique pattern and then added a journaling card from the collection which I layered on a floral pattern and used as the focal element.

I cut a 5-1/4” square top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I cut strips from two coordinating papers in the collection and created a diagonal pattern which I cut into four pieces. I rotated two of them and adhered them to the card base. I trimmed a journaling card in the collection and layered it on a coordinating print, and used it as the focal element. I added one die cut heart from the upgrades and one heart sticker from the sticker sheet.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with two leftover patterned paper strips used on the front. I layered the panel on the same pattern used to layer the focal element on the front, and added two sentiment stickers from the sticker sheet.

Pajama Party Checklist

Hey everybody! Well another week has rolled around and we’re back to Saturday, which definitely isn’t a bad thing for those who work! And in another couple days, we’ll see May 1st! I’m telling ya… it’ll be Christmas again before we know it! I’m thrilled to be back with another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share that I created with papers and ephemera from the new Pajama Party Collection! I just love, love, love this collection! I created an adorable split flap card featuring a pajama party checklist! How stinkin’ cute is that?!

I cut a standard A2 size card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and then cut a portion out to create the split flap. I adhered panels cut from a cute pattern in the Pajama Party 6×9 Collection Pack and then created the focal element from a card in the Pajama Party Cards & Ephemera Die Cut Pieces which I layered on panels cut from papers in the Pajama Party 6×9 Cardstock Pack. I added a couple narrow strips cut from Solar White cardstock and affixed a row of Back To Basics White Enamel Dots on each.

For the inside, I adhered a panel cut from a purple patterned paper from the Pajama Party 6×9 Cardstock Pack and embellished it with die cuts from the Pajama Party Cards & Ephemera Die Cut Pieces. I adhered a Solar White panel at the bottom to be used for a short message and/or signature. Super easy and fun design!

Gather ‘Round

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having an awesome week! I’m delighted to be back to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project with you today, created with the amazing April 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I like the nice variety of die cuts in the upgrades in this month’s collection and the fact that they make quick cards. I used die cuts along with two coordinating papers to create a dining room scene for this pretty family-themed card.

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with panels from two coordinating papers in the kit to create the wall and floor for the dining room scene. I added two die cuts from the upgrades which completed the front of this quick and easy card.

I cut the inside panel from a woodgrain paper in the kit and embellished it with a leftover strip of paper used on the front. I completed the inside with an additional die cut sentiment from the upgrades.

Scrappy hugs,

I’m over the Moon for you!

Hey everybody! Happy Fri-YAY! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog  an inspiration project featuring the Moon and Stars stamps and coordinating Moon and Stars dies which are part of the amazing Celestial Collection! You know I love me some fun folds, and I have an oldie but goodie impossible card to share with you today! I’ve made quite a few of these over the past number of years, and this design never gets old! It’s so versatile and can be used for many different occasions!

I cut the card base and layering panels from a dark blue patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Royal 12 x 12 Collection along with additional layering panels from yellow patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Lemon 12 x 12 Collection. I inked the edges of the dark blue paper with Ranger chipped sapphire distress ink before assembling the card layers.

I die cut quite a few elements from yellow, red and medium blue patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Lemon, Ruby and Royal 12 x 12 Collections using the Moon and Stars dies. I stamped a sentiment from the Moon and Stars stamps in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink on a yellow tag from the ephemera in the Keep It Simple Lemon 12 x 12 Collection and embellished it with Hemptique Earthy Pastel crafting cord, a scrap strip of medium blue paper (from the Keep It Simple Royal 12 x 12 Collection) and some Darice clear gemstones. The finishing touch was adding several more randomly-placed Darice clear gemstones all over the card front.

Family Floating Tile Card

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m stoked to be back to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project with you today, created with the amazing April 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I like using stickers as the focal element on cards and employed the floating tile technique with the letter tiles on this mini slimline which really packs a punch. The floating tile technique is similar to the floating strips technique where cardstock strips are adhered to acetate and then popped up on foam to achieve the look of ‘floating.’ I’ve made a couple floating strips cards in the past and thought it would be fun to float some tiles! ;)

I cut a 3-1/2” x 6” mini slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with two layering panels and a flag from coordinating papers in the collection. I adhered the F-A-M-I-L-Y tiles from the sticker sheet to an acetate strip and popped them up on double-sided foam strips to achieve a ‘floating’ look. I added two floral die cuts from the upgrades and a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover piece of patterned paper used on the front. I trimmed the sentiment from a journaling card in the collection and layered it on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock.

Scrappy hugs,

Blessed.

Hi everyone! I hope it’s warming up where you are! It’s been so dang cold here that I’m ready for some REAL Spring! I’m delighted to be back to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project with you today, created with the amazing April 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I really like all the coordinating tags and journaling cards that accompany the patterned papers in the kits each month, and for this card I used a couple tags as the focal element on the card front along with coordinating papers and upgrades in this month’s collection.

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from two coordinating papers and two tags. I tied some green crafting cord to the top of the tags before adhering them to the card front, then selected a large floral die cut from the upgrades which I tucked between the tags, and added a couple Eyelet Outlet green enamel dots.

I cut inside panels (one large and one small) from papers in the kit along with an additional tag. I added a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet which completed the card. Another super easy design that went together fast!

Scrappy hugs,

Vintage Soul

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m back with my second post this morning, this time to share a Keep It Simple inspiration project! Our design team celebrated the new product launch for the Vintage Truck Dies with an Instagram Hop and Giveaway about a week and a half ago (while our internet was down) and I showcased a fun acetate card for the Hop using this amazing die set! I wasn’t able to blog it at the time so I’m once again playing catch-up, lol! This was definitely a fun project – I’m totally smitten with this die set and can see lots more projects made with it!

I cut an acetate card base from Grafix Craft Plastic. Using the Vintage Truck Dies, I cut all the pieces from CutCardStock Basis 80# Natural, Basis Brown, Stardream Metallic Jupiter, Desert Storm and Bright Gold Foil cardstock, and several patterned papers from the Keep It Simple Clementine 12×12 Collection Pack. Like most projects with lots of pieces, the fun part is the assembly, and this one was no different! I added butterfly and sentiment stickers (from the sticker sheet in the Clementine Collection) to the assembled truck and adhered it to the card base. I adhered a truck outline die cut on the inside, cut from an additional paper in the Clementine Collection, so the SuperTape wasn’t visible through the acetate.

I die cut two additional truck outlines from Basis Natural, and adhered one to the inside and embellished it with a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet in the Clementine Collection. I adhered the other one to the back side of the card so the SuperTape wasn’t visible through the acetate.

Scrappy hugs,

plant – grow – bloom

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m thrilled to be back with another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with papers, stamps and dies in the new Bunny Season Collection! This is one of quite a few projects created while we had no internet and I was able to share them on social media but not blog them, so here I am! This super cute center easel card is so easy and I don’t even have to look at my instructions anymore because I’ve made so many of them over the years!

I cut the center easel card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and covered the panels with papers from the Bunny Season 6×9 Collection Pack and Bunny Season 6×9 Cardstock Pack. I stamped the picket fence from the Bunny Season Love Grows Here Collection Stamps twice in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored them with alcohol markers. I cut them with Bunny Season Love Grows Here Outline Dies and attached them to both sides of the easel.

I stamped the focal sentiment from the Bunny Season Spring Sentiments Stamps on Solar White cardstock in Memento Rich Cocoa ink, trimmed it and attached it to the easel. I stamped several flowers from the Bunny Season Love Grows Here Collection Stamps and colored them with Sharpie Ultra Fine Point markers. I cut them with the Bunny Season Love Grows Here Outline Dies and adhered them along the bottom of the card. I created a ‘stop’ for the easel and added several Back To Basics Clear Enamel Dots which completed the card.

And the best thing about this card is that folds flat for mailing!
