A little birdie told me…

Howdy peeps! Happy Thursday – another week almost behind us. Time sure is flying by! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cute bird-day mini slimline card. This is another one of those cards that takes almost no time to put together once all the die cutting is done. I used Classic Crest Baronial Ivory along with an assortment of colors in our Lessebo line (my current fav). I also dug into my stash and grabbed some wavy borders, an enamel sun, and cloud and bird brads. Love how this turned out – and I think it could even be considered CAS-ish!

I cut my go-to 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock. I printed the Background Labs Cloud digital background on 32# HP copy paper on my new Canon color laser printer and trimmed it to fit the mini slim card base. I have a background story on printers but I’ll save that for another day, lol! Next, I die cut the bird houses from the Catherine Pooler Home Tweet Home Dies in seven of the eight Lessebo cardstock colors I had out. Since there were so many dies in this set, I left them connected so I wouldn’t lose any of them, and it worked out well. Now I have lots of extra pieces in all those pretty colors to assemble more bird houses for future projects. ;)

I used the Keep It Simple Wavy Borders to cut three layers of ‘hills’ from Lessebo Hunter Green cardstock for my little scene. After assembling the bird houses, I added an Eyelet Outlet bird brad to each one and adhered them to the card front on adhesive foam squares, then added the enamel sun and cloud brad. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Keep It Simple Build-A-Birdhouse stamp set in Hero Arts white embossing powder, fussy cut it and added it to the bottom of the card front which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Classic Crest Baronial Ivory and embellished it with another bird house. I stamped another sentiment from the same Build-A-Birdhouse stamp set in Memento Cottage Ivy ink, and layered the panel on Cherry Red cardstock.

Hey everybody! Happy Friday – I hope you’re having a great week! I have some wonderful news to share this morning – I’ve been invited to guest design again for Creative Creases Challenge! Debbie knows how much I love fun folds, so of course, my answer was a big YES! I used the Birdhouse Box Card SVG cut file from My Scrap Chick to make this adorable ‘bird-day’ card for Challenge #92. Box cards definitely fall under the fun fold category and this one was way fun! Be sure to come over and play with us – you know you love some fun folds!

Cyndy G is my favorite MSC designer (I have quite a few of her cut files) and her assembly video for this card is HERE. I wanted to mention that My Scrap Chick often includes a PDF to use to print on cardstock or patterned paper and then fussy cut the pieces. This is a nice option for those who don’t use a cutting machine or for those crafting with children.

Using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and the My Scrap Chick Birdhouse Box Card SVG cut file, I cut all the pieces with a variety of cardstock from CutCardStock. I used Amazon Dark Teal, Sunflower Yellow, Coffee Bean, Pitch Black, Moss Green, Bubble Gum Pink, Cherry Red, Granite Gray and White, all from the Lessebo line. I used the Keep It Simple Build-A-Birdhouse stamp set for the sentiment. The final touch was adding Eyelet Outlet yellow enamel dots to the flower centers.

I stamped another sentiment from the KIS Stamps Build-A-Birdhouse on the back, which completed the project. How stinkin’ cute is this?!

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a super cute birthday card featuring our Female Cardinal Brads, Bluebird & Robin Brads and Mini Butterfly Brads! I cut the cherry blossoms (from SVG Cuts) on my Scan N Cut and they fit perfectly on this mini slimline card with very little edge trimming needing to be done.

I started by cutting the cherry blossom pieces from CutCardStock Basis Brown cardstock, CutCardStock Pop-Tone Cotton Candy cardstock and CutCardStock Raspberry Ice cardstock, and assembling it. I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a pink textured layering panel from the Core’dinations Vintage Collection 6×6 cardstock pad. I adhered the cherry blossoms to the textured layering panel and stamped the sentiment in brown ink in the lower left corner. I added the Female Cardinal Brads, a Bluebird & Robin Brad and a Mini Butterfly Brad, and adhered the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, stamped the sentiment in brown ink and layered the panel on the Core’dinations textured cardstock used on the front.

And one more look… I really love these brads and I’m so happy with how this card turned out!
