Sending Many Thanks

Hi friends! Well, another Friday has rolled around that we are THAT much closer to Christmas! Woo-hoo! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #76! I won this Lost Coast Designs Happy Cat stamp in the October 2022 Cat Lovers Hop. The founder of the Cat Lovers Hop, Janis Woolbright, passed away in January of this year and I used this stamp again as a memorial to her. I participated in the Cat Lovers Hops for the past four years as well as the 2023 Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge this year (last month, actually) that was organized as a tribute to her. Janis was a super sweet lady and will be missed by many. I feel like this stamp made a very cool clean and simple thank you card, and Janis would be proud! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock. I added two strips of Me And My Big Ideas skinny yellow and gold washi tape down the left side and stamped the cat in Memento Espresso Truffle ink. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Petite Pairs stamp set just above the cat in brown ink, which completed the card front.

I kept the inside clean and simple as well, and stamped another sentiment from the same Stampin’ Up Petite Pairs stamp set in brown ink.

Hello Friend

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday – I hope your week has started off nicely! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #75! I created a pinwheel twist card using my Scan N Cut, a cut file and some really pretty patterned paper from Hot Off The Press. I’ve made several 4-sided pinwheel twist cards using a cut file but have also learned to make them by hand-cutting the card base and panels (even a 6-sided one), and either way, they are fun and easy to make!

Using my Scan N Cut and the Haunted House Pinwheel Twist Card cut file (just the base pieces) from My Scrap Chick, I cut the card base and panels from CutCardStock Curious Metallic Violette cardstock and coordinating patterned papers from Hot Off The Press Lilacs In Bloom 6×6 papers. I assembled the card, adding ephemera from the paper pack to three sides and an 80# Solar White panel to the fourth side for a handwritten message and/or signature.

Howdy peeps! I hope you’re having a great weekend! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #74! I created a nature-themed triple cube card. I’m totally addicted to this fun fold! Despite the complex look, this one is really pretty simple and I’ve made quite a few of these over the past couple years. They are so fun to embellish!

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from a variety of KNC Essentials papers (Showering Nature 12×12 paper pack, Stories of the Wild 12×12 paper pack and Stories of the Wild 6×6 paper pack) and CutCardStock Bright Silver Foil cardstock. Each panel was embellished with ephemera from the KNC Essentials Stories of the Wild Ephemera pack.

The two back panels were cut from 80# Solar White and CutCardStock Bright Silver foil cardstock and embellished with a couple more critters from the KNC Essentials Stories of the Wild Ephemera pack. I stamped a sentiment from KNC Essentials Stories of the Wild stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card.

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a FABulous week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #73! All of our challenges are Anything Goes and we’d love for you to link up with us this month! I created a pretty front flap card (which seems to have become one of my most favorite fun folds) employing the random inking technique which really yields an amazing result!

I cut the front flap card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from Keep It Simple Ruby 12×12 Collection Pack. I stamped the image from the Stampin’ Up Eden’s Garden stamp set in Ranger mowed lawn, fired brick, pine needles and frayed burlap distress inks. I stamped the sentiment (from the same Stampin’ Up stamp set) in Memento Espresso Truffle ink, cut it with a Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small die, and layered it on a slightly larger oval cut with a Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large die. The finishing touch was the addition of several Taylored Expressions Silver Drip Drops.

I embellished the inside of the front flap with a coordinating strip of paper from the Keep It Simple Ruby 12×12 Collection Pack, and stamped the sentiment (also from the Stampin’ Up Eden’s Garden stamp set) in Memento Espresso Truffle ink.

Sweet!

Hey everybody! Wishing you all a lovely week coming up! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #72! I created a clean and simple congrats card for this challenge using the Tropical Fruit Dies from CottageCutz! I’ve had these dies in my stash for several years and have never used them, so they came out for a play! I’m still on my quest to use ‘barely used’ or ‘never used’ stamps and dies in my stash this year, and I’ve done pretty well!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I die cut the CottageCutz Tropical Fruit pieces from Basis Natural cardstock as well and colored them with alcohol markers. I added a strip of Eyelet Outlet purple check washi tape across the bottom of the card base and arranged the fruit die cuts on it to ground them on a faux table cloth. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Bravo stamp set in Catherine Pooler Catching Rays ink and outlined the right side of each letter with a Sharpie Dark Pink Ultra Fine Point marker.

I kept the inside clean and simple as well, and stamped the sentiment (also from the Stampin’ Up Bravo stamp set) in Catherine Pooler Catching Rays ink.

6/18/23 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday! I hope you’re enjoying a beautiful start to your weekend! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #71! With Father’s Day just around the corner and my quest this year to use barely used or never used stash, I’m sharing a fun card I created with some My Favorite Things dies that I’ve never used. The hubs uses mostly DeWalt tools and they are yellow, so that’s the color I went with, lol! I think this turned out so awesome!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding landscape card base from CutCardStock Kraft Chipboard along with a layering panel from Pop Tone Black Licorice. I also die cut a pegboard panel from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock using the My Favorite Things Pegboard Cover-Up Die-namics. Using the Tool Time Die-namics, I die cut the tools from Basis Gold, Stardream Metallic Silver and Bright Silver Foil. I stamped the sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps I Love You Toolbox and All stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the Kraft Chipboard and Pop Tone Black Licorice cardstock used on the front. In keeping with the kraft and black colors, I stamped the inside sentiment (from the same Prickley Pear Stamps stamp set) in Catherine Pooler Sandcastle ink and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a good week and you’re enjoying some gorgeous weather like we’re having out here in southwestern Colorado! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #70! It’s rapidly becoming wedding season so I made a cake box card using Hot Off The Press dies! I love how this turned out and I can definitely see more of these in my future, not only for weddings but for anniversaries and birthdays, too!

Using the Hot Off The Press Cake Box Card Cutting Dies, I cut the cake card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock, the candle flame from CutCardStock Basis Gold, the candle from CutCardStock Pop Tone Cotton Candy cardstock, the cake layers from Stampin’ Up Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack, and the icing from Brutus Monroe pink glitter sheet.

I embellished each layer with an assortment of Wild Orchid Crafts flowers with pearl sprays on two of the layers. I added a bow made from Doodlebug Design Lily White twine. The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set, stamped in Memento Lilac Posies ink. This was a super fun one to put together!

I added a Solar White cardstock panel on the back with another sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set, stamped in Memento Lilac Posies ink.

Hi friends! Happy Fri-YAY! I hope you’re having a great week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #68! Our challenges are always ‘anything goes’ and we’d love for you to come over and play with us! I created a Father’s Day card with an acetate panel on the front flap showing a majestic lake scene. What guy wouldn’t love this?!

I cut a standard A2 size landscape top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock. I cut an oval aperture in the front flap with a Memory Box Stitched Oval Layers die and adhered a piece of acetate behind it. Using Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red and Black Jack inks along with the Stampin’ Up Let’s Set Sail stamp set and Sailboat Builder Punch, I created the sailboat and adhered it to the acetate on the front flap. Using the Hero Arts Year Round Messages stamp set, I stamped the sentiment in black ink in the lower right corner. The final touch was adding two Stampin’ Up Star Designer Elements to the lower left corner.

I reserved the stitched oval die cut from the front flap to use on the inside of the card. Using the Stampin’ Up Let’s Set Sail stamp set, I stamped the water in Catherine Pooler Stone Blue and Tranquil inks, sailboat shadow in Twilight ink, and birds in Jack Black ink, which completed the card.

2/12/23 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great week – the weekend is once again upon us! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #67. Sympathy cards in general are not easy for me but we all need them for humans and for pets from time to time. One of the new releases over at Kat Scrappiness several months ago (just after we had to put our Milo to rest) included the Rainbow Bridge stamp set which I fell in love with. I created this card for a young man who lost his pup.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from Keep It Simple Lemon 12×12 Collection Pack and 80# Solar White cardstock. I rounded two of the corners on the Solar White layering panel and stamped the rainbow bridge image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped it again in Versamark (over top the black) and heat embossed it in Hero Arts clear embossing powder. I colored the image with alcohol markers and fussy cut the pup to adhere on the bridge. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in black ink and the halo in Delicata Golden Glitz ink. I added a little shimmer to the angel pup’s wings with a Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of patterned paper from the Keep It Simple Lemon 12×12 Collection Pack. I stamped another sentiment and a paw print (from the same stamp set) in black ink.

Hello Little Sunshine

Hi friends! Happy Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re having a fantastic week so far! Our first challenge of the new year is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge 66! I made a very clean and simple baby card using both old and newer Stampin’ Up stamp sets from my stash, and love how it turned out… despite running into a snafu when I got to the inside which I’ll tell you about below! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. Using the Stampin’ Up Hello stamp set, I stamped the two-part sentiment and sun in Catherine Pooler Samba, Tutti Frutti and Tiki Torch inks. I finished off the front with several gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Amber Glow Embellishment Mix using my trusty Trinity Pick Up Stick.

On the inside I stamped a little line element from the same Hello stamp set in Catherine Pooler Bellini ink. I then stamped the sentiment (from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set) in Catherine Pooler Tutti Frutti ink. I almost always clean my stamps with a shammy prior to using them just to be sure I get a clean impression. Well, I forgot to do that this time. I stamped directly on the inside flap (because this was supposed to be a one-layer card), and discovered a tiny wad of fuzz on the stamp and a fuzz-wad impression on the stamped sentiment! Dang it – totally messed up my one-layer venture! So I had to re-group… I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of CutCardStock Basis 80# Natural cardstock and cut it with a Cottage Cutz Double-Stitched Ovals die. There, now you know the whole story, lol! ;)
