Lemonade & Laughter

Howdy peeps – I hope you’re having a super wonderful Friday! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cute lemonade-themed friendship card. I’m sure you can guess I’ve been (still) playing with my Cricut – and OMGosh, this was a FUN one. I used the Iced Lemonade Box Card SVG cut file from My Scrap Chick, and even got Ed’s seal of approval, lol! I used quite a few varieties of our cardstock to make this. And I will tell you that I used Basis Gold cardstock and it’s no longer carried in the store, but any dark yellow cardstock would work for the lemon rinds and starburst background layer.

Using My Scrap Chick’s Iced Lemonade Box Card SVG cut file, I cut the card base and inserts from Cougar 110# Smooth White 12×12 cardstock; the glass outline, lemon inside outlines, ice cubes and flower from Wedding Cake 12×12; lemon rinds and starburst layer from Basis Gold; lemons and starburst from Yellow Jacket; lemonade in glass from Light Yellow; leaves from Pop Tone Jellybean Green; glass from Lessebo Arctic Blue; and straw and rectangles from Wild Salmon. I used the Print then Cut function on my Cricut for the sentiment rectangle on the front. Tombow Mono Liquid Multi Purpose Glue was used for the entire assembly.

This was another super fun box card to put together and I enjoyed every minute – from cutting all the pieces through the entire assembly! I didn’t photograph the back side of it, but there’s plenty of room to write a custom message and sign. Love, love, love!

Scrappy hugs,

hey, there!

Hey everybody – happy first Thursday in September! I want to know how it got here so fast! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cool box card featuring cowboy boots, sunflowers and daisies. I’ve had an absolute ball playing with my Cricut and used the Cyndy G SVG Boots SVG cut file for this one which I totally love! I used a variety of cardstock in our Lessebo line in addition to a few others to bring it to life. I will admit that there are quite a few pieces but it went together seamlessly and without a hitch!

I cut the box card base, hay embellishment and inserts from Lessebo Brick Orange; sunflower petals and daisy centers from Lessebo Sunset Orange; boot soles, sunflower centers and insert layers from Lessebo Coffee Bean; sunflower center layers from Twine; greenery and layers from Lessebo Moss Green; boots from Silk Glitter Opulent Opal and Stardream Metallic Eris; and daisy petals from Lessebo White.

As I always say… the assembly is the most fun and I really enjoyed putting this one together! I used Tombow Mono Liquid Multi Purpose Glue for the entire assembly along with a few foam squares to pop up some of the elements. I’ve been using another glue in my glue press for a while now and decided to switch to the Tombow for a bit. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and cut it with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentiment Silhouettes die.

Using a Love From Lizi Stitched Rectangle Nested Cutting Die, I cut a rectangle for the back sentiment from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Best of Greetings stamp set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Love, love, love how this turned out! I also have a cowboy hat box card SVG cut file (also designed by Cyndy G) which I intend to make fairly soon, so stay tuned for that one as well!

Scrappy hugs,

A Sea of Thanks

Hey everybody, happy Tuesday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a clean and simple fish-themed thank you card featuring one of our 110# Solar White pre-scored card bases and a variety of cardstock from our Pop Tone line. LOVE the colors of this cardstock – and the weight is perfect for layering and punching or die cutting elements for your projects. I also used the Love From Lizi To The Beach stencil and Brutus Monroe Seafoam Chill Shimmer Spray for the sea water to bring this card to life. Awesomeness overload!

I grabbed one of our Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White A2 folded card bases and cut a panel of Pop Tone Berrylicious for the front. Using the Love From Lizi To The Beach stencil and Brutus Monroe Seafoam Chill Shimmer Spray, I created an illusion of sea water on the front panel and then adhered it to the card base. I stamped the coral and sentiment from the Stampin’ Up A Fish & A Wish stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Using the Stampin’ Up A Fish & A Wish stamp set once again, I stamped six fish on Pop Tone Red Hot, Orange Fizz, Banana Split, Gumdrop Green, and Grape Jelly cardstock, and punched them all with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Fish Builder Punch. I adhered all of the fishies to the card front, popping up three of them on foam squares. Of course, I just HAD to include that little rebel (like my daughter) who is swimming in the opposite direction of the rest of them, lol! I added a few iridescent gemstone ‘bubbles’ which completed the card front.

I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Thankful Life stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black ink on the inside.

Scrappy hugs,

Hello Sweet Summertime

Hey, everybody – Happy Tuesday! I’m back with my third post this morning… this time to let you know that I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a sweet (pun intended) summertime box card. After all, we are still in the throes of Summer and I know most folks are wishing it would start cooling off. I’ve had lots of Cricut playtime over the past couple months since we moved. Ed built me a nice 4′ x 6′ craft table and I love having the extra space to keep my Cricut out. I know I’ll use it more often now that it no longer lives in a cabinet, lol!

At any rate, this awesome SVG cut file is from Cyndy G SVG and I’m totally enamored with it. Ed and I LOVE watermelon so this was right up my alley. I used Lessebo Coffee Bean, Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White, Pop Tone Black Licorice, Pop Tone Red Hot, Pop Tone Banana Split, Pop Tone Gumdrop Green, Pop Tone Jellybean Green, Pop Tone Hot Fudge, and Scottish Highlands Green – all available on the CutCardStock website.

Using the Watermelon Crate Box Card SVG cut file from Cyndy G SVG, I cut the crate from Lessebo Coffee Bean and Pop Tone Hot Fudge; the inserts from Lessebo Coffee Bean; the watermelons from Pop Tone Black Licorice, Pop Tone Red Hot, Pop Tone Gumdrop Green and Pop Tone Jellybean Green; the flowers from Pop Tone Banana Split; and the vines from Scottish Highlands Green.

You’ve heard me say a hundred times that the assembly is always the most fun part of making these kinds of projects. Well, this one was no exception – I had a blast! Once the box and inserts were assembled, I used alpha stickers from the Carta Bella Flora No. 6 Collection Kit to spell HELLO on the crate, and embellished the flowers with Echo Park My Favorite Summer Adhesive Brads.

I cut the sentiment panel on the back from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White and Scottish Highlands Green. I added a sentiment sticker from Echo Park My Favorite Summer Collection Kit, which completed the card. I’ve included below an additional angled shot. If you’d like a few more details on how this card went together, be sure to see my tutorial on the CutCardStock blog. ;)

Scrappy hugs,

You Croc My World!

Hi everyone, Happy Monday – I hope you had a great weekend! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a ‘love you just because’ half flap card. Talk about easy peasy… this is one of the easiest cards ever! I used a 110# Solar White A2 Folded Card Base with Mantis Green, Granny Smith, Scottish Highlands Green, Kale Green, and Silk Glitter Red Flash cardstock. And see that diagonal line of little gold dots toward the top left? Those were made with the EK Tools Dual Tip Gold Pen. I think this is my all-time favorite gold pen because it doesn’t leave that oily-looking rim around whatever you draw or write. And this croc is beyond adorable – I just love me some Lawn Fawn!

I used a Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White A2 Folded Card Base. Then I built my diagonal strip background on a piece of 20# copy paper covered with a Scrapbook Adhesives Adhesive Sheet. I cut strips from Mantis Green, Granny Smith, Scottish Highlands Green and Kale Green cardstock using the Scrapbook.com Decorative Long Strips Dies and trimmed it to fit the top portion of the card front. Using the EK Tools Dual Tip Gold Pen, I added some dots and then added two more layers to a couple other strips for a little interest.

Using the Lawn Fawn Croc My World stamps, I stamped the crocodile on 80# Solar White cardstock, colored him with G85 and G99 Copic Ciao alcohol markers, and cut him with the coordinating die. I layered him on two more die cuts for dimension. I stamped the sentiment in Catherine Pooler Eucalyptus ink and then added the croc to the flap. I also added a double layer red glitter heart cut from Silk Glitter Red Flash cardstock and a leftover strip which I adhered vertically on the left side of the flap along with three tiny buttons.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock, stamped a sentiment from the Love From Lizi Summer Botany stamp set in the green ink, and layered the panel on Kale Green cardstock.

Scrappy hugs,

Happy Birthday Hat

Hey everybody, Happy Thursday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cute birthday card that looks like a hat! I have a friend who uses ordinary stand-alone dies to make fun and creative cards and I challenged myself to do the same. I used our Lessebo Brick Orange, Silk Glitter Opulent Opal, and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. You are going to love how easy this card is to create!

I totally love the Love From Lizi shaped die sets because there are a HUGE number of dies in them which makes layering super easy. Using the largest die in the Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies, I cut the card base from Lessebo Brick Orange cardstock. Using the second largest die in the set, I cut a layering panel for the brim from an orange floral paper in the Doodlebug Design Floral-Graph Rainbow Petite Prints 6×6 paper pad.

I pulled out the Love From Lizi Stitched Oval Nested Cutting Dies and cut two ovals (the same size, using the 8th largest die in the set) for the top of the hat. I used the Scrapbook.com Bow Toppers Dies to cut several bows from our Silk Glitter Opulent Opal and Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock which I layered together for stability. The reason I cut several bow is because I initially couldn’t decide which one I wanted to use, so I gave myself some choices, lol!

I used the My Favorite Things Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 3 stamp set (one of my all-time favorites) for the sentiment which I stamped in Catherine Pooler Orange Peel ink. I added some iridescent gemstones colored with a YR16 Copic Ciao alcohol marker.

Using the second largest die in the Love From Lizi Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies, I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and cut it in half. I embellished it with a narrow strip of the floral paper used on the front and stamped another sentiment from that awesome My Favorite Things stamp set. Love, love, love this card – and I can see many more of these in my future! Be sure to check out my tutorial on the CutCardStock blog and please let me know if you make one!

Scrappy hugs,

Miss You fun fold

Hey everybody, happy weekend – I hope you’re having a good one! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a side panel pillar card in a timeless black and white color combo with just a pop of color. I used Savoy Cotton, Beetle Black, Wedding Cake White, and Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, and I totally love how it turned out. I have to admit that once again I started out with a completely different card design in my head. Before I knew it, the card had morphed into this black and white beauty. It amazes me how something so simple can pack such a punch!

Using the Love From Lizi Stitched Rectangle Nested Cutting Dies and Wild Bloom Dragonflies Cutting Dies, I die cut the focal panel from Savoy Cotton cardstock intending to spritz it with some shimmer mist. I sat there looking at it thinking how pretty it would be to just leave it white and back it on some black cardstock. So my entire card design shifted some major gears and I ended up cutting a few more pieces. I colored the three dragonflies with alcohol markers, gave them some shimmer with a Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen and Glossy Accents, and set them aside.

I cut the card base and front panel from Beetle Black and the layering panels from Wedding Cake White which I dry embossed with a Cuttlebug Script embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment from the Brutus Monroe Miss You Florals stamp set in Brutus Monroe Clear Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with Brutus Monroe Alabaster Pigment Ink. I cut it at an angle with a small Love From Lizi Stitched Oval Nested Cutting Die and popped it up in the lower right corner on a thin adhesive foam square. The final touch on the front was adding a few iridescent gemstones.

I cut the back panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and added a dry embossed panel of the Beetle Black down the left side. I stamped a sentiment from the Love From Lizi Just Because stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black ink, which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

an ocean full of thanks

Hi everyone, happy Wednesday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making an ocean inspired thank you card with pretty cardstock, shimmery foil and a super cute sea turtle. I used Savoy Cotton cardstock along with Surf, Hummingbird, and Caribbean Blue. Then, toward the end I brought in Vanilla Bean Brown and Ginger Snap. And, of course, my go-to for card bases and layering panels is typically Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.

Using a panel of our Savoy cotton cardstock, I created the background panel using the Love From Lizi To The Beach stencil, Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo and Deco Foil Glass Slipper Transfer Sheets. I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels and frames from Surf, Hummingbird, and Caribbean Blue. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Mermaid Kisses, stamped in Catherine Pooler Sea Glass ink. I used Love From Lizi Stitched Rectangle and Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies for this project. I brought in Vanilla Bean Brown and Ginger Snap for a turtle re-do toward the end of this process, which I explain in my tutorial.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the foiled background used on the front, and added an additional sentiment from the Hero Arts Mermaid Kisses Stamps. For more details, be sure to check out my tutorial on the CutCardStock blog!

Scrappy hugs,

Love you from my head to-ma-toes

Hi friends, how did it get to be the bottom half of May already?! I’m shaking my head (still) at how fast the year is flying by! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making another fun fold. You know I absolutely LOVE fun folds and I just can’t get enough of them! This clean and simple triangle pocket card features a minimal supply list consisting of Lessebo Pitch Black and Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White which I paired with some old Stampin’ Up double-sided paper. I just love black and white used with one other color!

I cut the flat card base and a layering panel from Lessebo Pitch Black cardstock along with two additional layering panels from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White. Next I cut the inner tri-fold panel from a watermelon colored paper from a Stampin’ Up paper stack (an old one, lol… from 2015-2017). I used the PhotoPlay No Pun Intended Fruits & Veggies stamps (another old item from my stash which I haven’t used in years) for the front sentiment and image, and added several red gemstones.

The image on the inside is the same as the front and the inside sentiment is from the Keep It Simple Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set. All stamping was done with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the images were colored with Copic Ciao alcohol markers and a green ultra fine point Sharpie.

And here’s one final shot with the little card on the inside tucked into the triangle pocket. This turned out so stinkin’ cute and it’s so easy… I can see making these for all kinds of occasions. Be sure to check out my tutorial on the CutCardStock blog if you want to learn how to make it!

Scrappy hugs,

feel better friend

Hey everybody, Happy Saturday! I hope you had a great week and have something fun planned this weekend. I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a friendship card in the form of a library pocket! I used our Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink, Lessebo Blossom Pink and Pop Tone Jellybean Green, along with Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White for the card insert. You won’t believe how easy this card is – I see many more of these in my future, lol!

I cut the library pocket card base from Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink along with a layering panel from Lessebo Blossom Pink and the card insert from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White. I used my MISTI to do some outline stamping on the layering panel in Versafine Onyx Black ink using the Stampin’ Up Hand-Penned Petals stamp set. Then I used Catherine Pooler Eucalyptus, Something Borrowed, Grape Crush, Flirty Fuchsia and Pucker Up inks to do the fill-in stamping with an acrylic stamping block.

I also used the coordinating Stampin’ Up Penned Flowers dies to embellish the Solar White card insert. The front sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink using the same Stampin’ Up Hand-Penned Petals stamp set which I cut with a Love From Lizi Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Die. The finishing touch on the front was the addition of several Brutus Monroe Light Pink Flat Back Crystals.

The only thing left to do with the insert card was to stamp a sentiment. This one, from the Stampin’ Up Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set, was also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Love, love, love how this turned out! Be sure to visit the CutCardStock blog to see my tutorial if you want to learn how to make this! I have to admit that I attempted to watch a video on YouTube but it was awful (as was the accompanying written tutorial) so I ended up going in my own direction. Sometimes you just have to take the bull by the horns, lol!
