Mwah

Hey everybody, Happy Friday! I’m back with my second post this morning… this one is for Keep It Simple and features our new KIS Cuts Triangle Accordion Pocket Card that launched back in March. It truly is a fun card to put together and I’m so proud that this die set was a take-off of one of my designs! I used papers and die cut pieces from our Sent With Love collection to create this fun ‘love you’ card which could be a Valentine or a card for an anniversary or just because!

Using the KIS Cuts Triangle Accordion Pocket Card dies, I cut the pieces from 80# Cougar Smooth White cardstock and an assortment of prints and die cut pieces from our Sent With Love collection. I love that this die set does all the work, lol!

I used one of our Back To Basics Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies to cut the card to insert into the pocket which I embellished with a journal card from the paper collection.

Hi friends – I hope you’re all having a wonderful week! We’re on the down-slide to the weekend and hopefully you have something fun planned! I’m delighted to share a super fun project for Keep It Simple created with our new KIS Cuts Camera dies and items from our Wander collection! You know how I love me some mini albums and I just couldn’t resist using papers, stamps, dies and die cut pieces from this new collection, along with a few varieties of Sprinkles and additional dies from the store! To say this was ‘fun’ is an understatement, lol!

Using our new KIS Cuts Camera dies and the inner page binding die from our KIS Cuts Backpack Mini Album, I cut the cover and pages from CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock along with elements and layering panels from our Wander 12×12 Collection Pack. I embellished the front and all the pages with stamped sentiments and images, die cut pieces and die cut sentiments, and also included pull-outs, a pull-up and a shaker. This was a total blast!

Hey everybody! Happy Tuesday – I hope you’re having a great week. National Scrapbooking Day was May 3rd and I totally missed sharing this project for Keep It Simple. Better to share late than not at all, right?! I created a pop out tunnel card using our Floral Baby Collection and I love how it turned out. It’s definitely an oldie but goodie. It’s been a few years since I made one like this and I had forgotten how fun it is!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Basis Coral along with layering panels from prints in the Floral Baby 12×12 Collection Pack and CutCardStock Ginger Snap cardstock. I added a sentiment from the Floral Baby Die Cut Pieces to the card front along with some Back To Basics Rose Enamel Dots. I die cut the turtle pieces for the inside from Basis Coral, Basis Light Brown and Ginger Snap cardstock using the KIS Cuts Water Babies dies. I stamped some detail on the turtle shell using the Floral Baby Water Babies Collection Stamps in Catherine Pooler Samba, Bellini and Do-Si-Do inks, and then assembled him.

I cut the oval aperture using Back To Basics Stitched Ovals Nested Dies, and then used the Back To Basics Rectangle Nested Dies to cut a resized panel to stamp the sentiment on (also from the Floral Baby Water Babies Collection Stamps). The final step was adhering the turtle to the sentiment panel which protrudes through the opening. So stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it!

Scrappy hugs,

Smile

Hey everybody, happy weekend! I hope you’re having a good one! We’ve been super busy with our move from Colorado to Iowa but once we’re settled in our new house, it’ll be business as usual, lol! I have THE cutest Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today… a camera shaped card featuring our new KIS Cuts Camera dies that launched just two days ago. This card has no stamping, and as much as I LOVE to stamp, it’s always fun to watch a card with no stamping come together! I love how this turned out and believe it would surely make the recipient smile!

Using the dies in the KIS Cuts Camera dies, I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with all the camera pieces from assorted prints in the new Back To Basics Black & White 6×9 Collection Pack and the Ruby 12×12 Collection Pack. I also pulled out the Back To Basics Polaroids & Words Die Set and cut the sentiments from papers in the Ruby collection. The finishing touch was adding several Back To Basics Black Enamel Dots.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White and embellished it with the red paper die cuts. So stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it! You HAVE to check out these dies!

Scrappy hugs,

Life is Good

Hey y’all, happy Tuesday! It is indeed a very happy Tuesday for Ed and I… we’ve been keeping a secret and we can now let the cat out of the bag, lol! We closed on a house in Iowa yesterday. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the last eight years we’ve been in Colorado, but as old folks on social security, we need to be in a more affordable location to spend our remaining years. Plus we’ll be closer to family, so it’s a win-win! Now, let me share this fun center flap card I created for Keep It Simple using papers and die cut pieces from our new Wander collection. This is one of the easiest fun folds ever and I totally love how it turned out. It’s very similar to all the front flap card folds I’ve made over the years but it’s made with one piece of cardstock rather than two.

I cut the 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ card base from CutCardStock Basis Black and scored it at 4-1/4″. I put the cardstock in my paper trimmer with the 5-1/2″ edge across the top. I measured 1-1/4″ inward from the left edge and cut from the top edge down to the score line, and then repeated the process on the other side. I applied glue to the underside of the two narrow flaps and pressed them down, leaving the center flap loose. I used papers and die cuts from our Wander collection, along with our Lemon enamel dots and some Love From Lizi gold pinstripe peel-off stickers to embellish the front.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a paper strip and more die cuts. Seriously, this card couldn’t be easier – you have to give it a try! ;)

Scrappy hugs,

hello sweet friend

Hey everybody, Happy Weekend! I hope you’re doing something fun and having some awesome Spring weather! Our weather this time of year is glorious… still a tad chilly overnight (but not bad) and warm and sunny during the day! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today. This pretty shaker card features our KIS Shaker Frames A2 Frames #7 which was released in February along with our Rainbow Builder dies and sentiment stamps. And of course, I just HAD to use a variety of our papers in all the rainbow colors and our 2mm and 3mm Sprinkles pearls! I sure do love me a shaker card, and I totally feel like this one would cheer up a friend!

I cut a top-folding card base and shaker frame (using the KIS Shaker Frames A2 Frames #7) from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I pulled out the new Back to Basics Black & White 6×9 Collection Pack and cut the frame again so I could use the outer scalloped portion. Then the fun began… cutting the frame seven more times from papers in our Back To Basics Ruby, Mango, Lemon, Jade, Royal, Lilac and Rose 12×12 Collection Packs. This gave me lots of leftover pieces to build more rainbows!

I created the shaker with a panel of acetate and narrow strips of foam using our Back To Basics Shaker Basics-Foam Adhesive & Acetate Sheets, then filled it with our 2mm and 3mm Sprinkles Pearls. I stamped a sentiment from our Sunshine & Rainbows Sentiment Stamps in Catherine Pooler Twilight ink and cut it with a Back To Basics Stitched Oval Nested Die.

I grabbed the outer portion of the frame that I had cut previously from the Back To Basics Ruby 12×12 Collection Pack to use as the base of the inside panel. I added a rectangle cut from 80# Solar White using a Stitched Rectangle Nested Die and stamped an additional sentiment from the Sunshine & Rainbows Sentiment Stamps in the gray ink. Love, love, love!

Scrappy hugs,

days like this

Hey everybody, Happy Monday! I hope you had an awesome weekend! I’m delighted to share a fun fold for Keep It Simple that I created with our new Wander Collection. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for a real treat. I used the 6×9 Collection Pack, Collection Stamps and Outline Dies to create this pop out fun fold. And for the life of me, I cannot remember exactly where I saw this fold and it’s driving me nuts. I think it was Pinterest; I will continue searching and when/if I find it, I will update this post. It’s definitely a fun one and I would love to share the link! Update: I found the link! It was on Jolanda’s Inque Spot Studio blog HERE and I made one change. I cut the insert at 5-1/4″ x 8″ rather than 4″ x 8″ as noted in her post.

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels, strips and stitched circles from assorted prints in the Wander 12×12 Collection Pack, Jade 12×12 Collection Pack and 80# Solar White. I cut the pop out panel from 12×12 Cardstock Shop Mint Chocolate Chip cardstock. I stamped sentiments and images from the Wander Collection Stamps, colored the images with Copic Ciao alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating Outline Dies. I fussy cut the front sentiment as there isn’t a coordinating die for that one. I stenciled clouds using our KIS Clouds Stencil and Ranger stormy sky distress ink, and created a hill using our KIS Cuts Wavy Borders dies.

As I always say, the most fun with projects like this is the assembly. It was such a joy watching it come to life. And it sure packs a punch when opening! I love how it turned out!

Hey everybody, Happy Weekend! I hope you have something fun planned! I’m stoked to share a DT inspiration project for Keep It Simple created with papers and die cut pieces from our Here Comes Santa Claus Collection! This is a super basic fun fold called a diagonal pocket card and it is really easy. I love creating Christmas cards and DIY gifts for Christmas and I love me some fun folds, so this was definitely a win-win!

I cut the A2 size side-folding card base from CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock and sliced the front flap in half diagonally from top left down to bottom right. I added some wet glue along the very bottom edge of the diagonal flap and adhered it to the back flap. BOOM… super easy! I embellished the diagonal flap with papers and ephemera from the cut-apart sheet in the Here Comes Santa Claus 12×12 Collection Pack. I cut the corners of the focal panel with a Tonic Corner Punch and layered it on a piece of Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. I used an assortment of die cut pieces to embellish the focal panel, popping some of them up on adhesive foam squares. The finishing touch was adding a few Back to Basics White Enamel Dots.

I created a top folding card from the Jellybean Green cardstock to slip into the diagonal pocket, and cut the corners with the Tonic Corner Punch. I embellished the front and inside of the folded card with more papers and ephemera from the cut-apart sheet in the Here Comes Santa Claus 12×12 Collection Pack, as well as a few more die cut pieces.

Scrappy hugs,

Let’s Shell-ebrate

Hi friends! Happy Saturday – I hope you have something fun planned this weekend. Our weather is supposed to be nice in the mid to upper 50s so I plan to get out and walk a little and (of course) craft a little, too. ;) I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you that I created with papers and die cut pieces from our new Once Upon A Time: Ariel Collection. This is one of the best collections ever, and I have fond memories of my daughter watching The Little Mermaid movie. I believe she was about five when it came out. I created a twisted ribbon panel on the left side this card and I love the fun it adds. This was my first attempt and I definitely see more twisted ribbon in my future, lol!

I cut the card base and twisted ribbon panel from CutCardStock Lessebo Amazon Dark Teal cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil and a print in the Ariel 6×9 Collection Pack. Next I cut strips from a couple more coordinating prints and then fashioned the twisted ribbon panel.

I added the die cuts from the Ariel Die Cut Pieces as well as a sentiment (from the Ariel Collection Stamps) which I stamped in Catherine Pooler Daydream ink and cut with the coordinating Ariel Outline Dies. The finishing touch was adding a few dots from Imagine Crafts Gold irRESISTible Pico Embellisher.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with die cuts and a leftover patterned paper strip that I cut for the twisted ribbon panel. I added another sentiment that I stamped from the Ariel Collection Stamps and cut with the coordinating Outline Dies.

Hey everybody, a big ol’ Happy Saturday to you! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend. We are expecting some temps in the 60s and 70s next week, and even with the mild Winter we’ve had and our love for cooler weather, we’re ready for Spring! ;) I’m thrilled to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today that I created with our NEW Triangle Accordion Pocket Card Dies that were released yesterday! I paired these dies with our Snow Day papers and Scandinavian Christmas Gnomes stamps and dies, along with our Birthday Sentiments stamps and Stitched Rectangles nested dies.

And I’m proud to share that Keep It Simple sent this die set into production after my Christmas-themed accordion pocket card sample HERE was deemed a huge hit at one of the expos last Summer. Needless to say, my head swelled a bit when she told us about it, and I’m thrilled to share it with you today. My sample was all hand-cut and this die set makes this card a breeze to create!

Using the KIS Cuts Triangle Accordion Pocket Card Dies, I cut the card base from American Crafts Black cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints from the Snow Day 6×9 and 12×12 Collection Packs. I stamped a couple images from the Scandinavian Christmas Gnomes Collection Stamps, colored them with an assortment of markers, and cut them with the coordinating Outline Dies.

Using a die in the Back To Basics Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies, I cut a card to slip into the pocket. For the final step, I stamped several sentiments from the Back To Basics Birthday Sentiments stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black and Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red inks, fussy cut or trimmed them, and adhered them to the front, inside and the pocket card.

Here’s an additional shot showing the card removed from the pocket. This is such a fun set of dies that can be used for literally any occasion with any color palette!
