lucky, lucky me!

Hey everybody, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Are you wearing green or do you want to be pinched?! Bahahaha! I have a fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the awesome March 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I created a pocket front card and my inspiration came from THIS Splitcoast Stampers tutorial. I’ve had these instructions in my arsenal for a few years and had never made one, so I figured it was about time. Dina made hers with a gnome theme and it kind of grabbed my attention since I was looking for a fun design for a St. Patrick’s Day card!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock 100# Cougar Smooth White along with layering panels from a clover print in the Carta Bella Flora No. 6 Collection Kit as well as CutCardStock Scottish Highlands Green. I embellished the front with elements from the Simple Stories St. Patrick’s Day Page Pieces in the upgrades as well as a stamped gnome from the Stampingbella Gnomes Have Feelings Too stamp set which I colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut. I created a separate round card that I tucked into the pocket – it’s not a very big one but it does have room on the inside for a short message and signature. ;)

I added a large shamrock (also from the Simple Stories St. Patrick’s Day Page Pieces) to the inside of the card. This fun fold can be used for any occasion and I’m sure I’ll be making it again. Next time I think it would be fun to add a sentiment to the inside and tuck some fun tags and ephemera into the pocket on the front. The sky is the limit, as they say! ;)

Howdy friends! I hope you’re having a great weekend and it’s not too cold where you are! It has been snowing for a few days here and we still have lots of snow on the ground from the last time it snowed, but it’s all good! I have a very cool ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the awesome February 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I created an all-time favorite hidden message slider card featuring papers and stickers from the kit along with tags and frames and stickers from the upgrades. I’ve had handwritten instructions for this fold in my arsenal for many years and then late last year I found a ‘slider surprise’ die set at My Favorite Things… what a game-changer! But if you’re interested in making one of these without the die set, you can find my instructions HERE.

Using the My Favorite Things Slider Surprise Die-namics, I die cut the base and pull element from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with layering panels for the base and pull element (using the dies a second time) from coordinating papers in the kit. I used an element from the frames and tags in the upgrades for the focal on the front and fashioned the loop for the pull element from Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine.

To create the surprise message, I adhered a sticker from the sticker sheet to a scrap of Cougar White cardstock, trimmed it and rounded the corners. I trimmed an additional patterned paper from the kit and adhered it to the inside bottom of the card base along with the surprise message and two red holographic hearts from the upgrades. Such a fun project!

Scrappy hugs,

I LOVE U carousel card

Hey everybody! It’s Saturday and we’re a little more than a week into February already! I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! I have a super fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the awesome February 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I created a carousel card featuring coordinating papers and stickers from the kit along with frames and tags, stickers, and a pink wooden heart from the upgrades. I shared a carousel card on my blog a couple weeks ago for another design team and everyone seemed to love it, so that was my inspiration for creating another one! The idea originally came from an older tutorial by Sandie HERE on the Stamping Bella blog.

The card base was cut from CutCardStock Pop Tone Sno Cone cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the kit. Each of the four sections has a sentiment and an additional element either from the sticker sheet in the kit or the frames and tags and stickers from the upgrades. The card is kept closed with a belly band embellished with a pink wooden heart and stickers from the upgrades, and I added a heart-shaped paper clip to keep it open. My late sister gave me a bunch of shaped paper clips many years ago and using them in my projects makes my heart happy! Here are shots of the belly band removed and all four sections.

Scrappy hugs,

happy love day

Hi everyone! Happy Friday – I hope you’ve had a great week! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the awesome February 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! This 3 peak arrow fold features coordinating papers and stickers from the kit, and is the first one of these I’ve ever made. My inspiration came from Sam Calcott’s video over on Mixed Up Craft HERE but her version is larger (I was aiming for an A2 size) so I reworked the measurements and cut down the sides. I have shared my instructions for this in the Freebies section of my blog HERE. I think the next time I make one like this, I will try making the center peak a tad bit taller to make the fold look a bit more dramatic. But I do like how this one turned out!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Lessebo Cherry Red cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the kit. I laid the folded base down, traced each section and trimmed the pieces (mirroring the three on the left to the three on the right) to layer into the peak sections. I then die cut a stitched circle from the Cherry Red cardstock using a Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Die and affixed a sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet to it for the focal.

Here is a shot of the card fold flat for mailing – it fits in an A2 envelope!

Scrappy hugs,

hello

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday – I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! I’m back this morning with one more awesome ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share created with the awesome January 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I’m absolutely enamored with the papers in this month’s collection and I’ve made another cool fun fold. This one is a 3D window card which features a floral and a geometric print along with a journaling card and stickers from the sticker sheet. My inspiration once again has come from Lisa Curcio’s blog. I took a few minutes a couple weeks ago to look around her blog and came away with quite a few ideas for some new fun folds! She’s amazing!

The card base was cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Sunflower Yellow cardstock along with layering panels from two coordinating prints in the kit. An oval aperture was die cut into the front layer using a Keep It Simple Stitched Ovals Nested Die.

The focal element seen in the center of the aperture was cut from a journaling card in the collection and embellished with stickers from the sticker sheet. I added a back panel which I embellished with a strip of paper along with butterfly and sentiment stickers from the sticker sheet.

Scrappy hugs,

Enjoy the Little Things

Howdy, peeps! Happy Happy Friday to you all! I have another amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you created with the awesome January 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I totally love geometric type patterned papers and those in this month’s kit are just awesome. I created a faux shutter card using a couple coordinating prints which I embellished with a chipboard accent piece from the upgrades. I’ve created a couple interactive shutter cards over the past few months and when I saw this faux shutter card on Pinterest, I wanted to give it a go. It’s also called a fractured card but I think I prefer faux shutter. Next one I make will have a smaller shutter area, but talk about easy-peasy!

I cut the card base from Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with a layering panel and strips for the shutter design from coordinating papers in the collection. I adhered a chipboard accent from the upgrades to the center of the faux shutter area and added several Keep It Simple Back To Basics Rose Enamel Dots.

I embellished the inside panel with patterned paper and cardstock strips used on the front and added sentiment and lady bug stickers from the sticker sheet.

Hi everybody, Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here! I have a very cool ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the awesome January 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I’ve been having the time of my life playing with all the goodies in this month’s collection. You know how much I love me some fun folds (and I love purple) so I created a pop out accordion card featuring papers and stickers in the collection along with die cut pieces from the upgrades… all in purple! My inspiration for this card also came from Lisa Curcio’s blog. She’s one talented lady and I get SO much inspiration when I visit!

The card base was cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Lilac cardstock. Layering panels were cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Lilac and Cougar Smooth White cardstock along with coordinating patterned papers in the collection. A sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet was added to the front along with floral die cut pieces from the upgrades.

The finishing touches were adding a couple Eyelet Outlet Mini Butterfly Brads and a few yellow gemstones from my stash.

Very Merry Double Flap Fun Fold

Hey everybody! Here’s to a Terrific Tuesday! It sure is a beautiful day! I have an awesome ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share created with the amazing December 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I can’t stop swooning over the gorgeous prints in this month’s collection! You know that I’m a fun fold fanatic and I’ve created a double flap fun fold which features several papers and stickers from the December kit. There are several versions of the ‘double flap fun fold’ and this one is definitely on my list of favorites! I hope you aren’t getting tired of seeing this fold, lol!

The card base and circle flap were cut from Solar White cardstock and embellished with three patterned papers from the collection. I used the Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Dies for the circle flap and layer. A sentiment sticker from the sticker sheet was added along with several light green gemstones from my stash. The finishing touch was tying a white twine bow to the left-hand flap. Easy peasy! ;)

An additional white die cut circle and sentiment sticker were added to the inside.

Boho Christmas Cards (set of 8)

Hi friends! Happy Monday! The weekend is gone just like that! Time sure seems to be flying by! I’m back this morning with a super fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you created with the awesome December 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. The papers, stickers and upgrades in this month’s collection are pretty phenomenal and one of the upgrade items brought back some very fond memories of when I started card making 30 years ago!

It’s a complete card kit made by Simple Stories – above and beyond the December Scrapbook Kit itself – and includes step-by-step instructions, card bases, patterned papers and tons of ephemera! Yep, you heard that right – a complete card kit that would be a wonderful gift for someone who is just starting to venture into the world of card making! So, to show just how easy and fun this is, I created eight boho Christmas cards using the items in the kit along with adhesive and foam squares from my stash.

Aren’t these totally adorable?! They are all blank inside so I have donated them to Bring Smiles To Seniors! <3
