Santa is watching

Hi everyone! I’ve popped in today to post a fun card I created for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop! This is Day 1 of the Hop, so if you’re a fellow crazy cat person, be sure to come on over and play – Janis has been working hard getting tons of sponsors so that means there are tons of prizes to be won!

I created a somewhat CAS card featuring a mischievous feline playing with a ball of yarn. This guy is from the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Cats stamp set, cut with coordinating die and colored with Studio 71 alcohol markers.

I used a Tim Holtz mixed media die in the lower left corner backed with red foil (DCWV Washi Tape Basics). OMGoodness, foil is SO hard to photograph! I even went outside because I’ve had better luck in the past taking pics of foil outside, but it’s been so windy over the past couple days that I wasn’t able to do it.

I kept the inside simple with a couple strips of the red foil at the top and a stamped sentiment.

And here’s one more look… I’m really happy with how this turned out and it’s in my pile of Christmas cards that’ll be mailed out on December 1st! It’s coming fast! ;)

I’d love to enter this cute guy into the following challenges:
A Bit More Time To Craft: #102 – Anything Goes
Christmas at Sweet Stampin: October Anything Goes w/ Optional Stars
Lost Coast Portal To Creativity: #86 – Pets
My Time To Craft: #408 – Halloween or Cats

Products used:

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Studio 71 N2, N6, YG7
Dies/Punches: Stampers Anonymous Crazy Cats die set, Tim Holtz Mixed Media Thinlits die

I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun cat-themed Christmas card! Be sure to come on over and play in the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop for a chance to win an awesome prize! Thanks for stopping by – we’ll see you next time! ;)

Scrappy hugs,

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D

  1. Such a cute Christmas card! Always loved these kitty stamps and the corner die is fab with it. xxD

  2. What a fun Christmas card with the inside done so nicely as well. One less card to worry about during the Christmas rush….it will be here soon. ;) Love your cat image….I have it but have yet to get it inky….you have inspired me to do so. :)

  3. That last photo showed the red foil beautifully – love the shine! It’s such
a fun card with that sentiment and the look on kitty’s face. hehe (I just so
happen to have the same die cut on my desk now – ready to be put together
with a different kitty/coffee stamp for the upcoming CLBH!).

  4. Gorgeous – I do love those crazy Cats, can’t think why I don’t have them in my collection. That foil looks stunning even if it was a struggle to photograph

  5. fun card! i have that die and have never been quite sure how to use it but they way you have is great. love the kitty stamp and sentiment. thanks for joining the lost coast design challenge.

  6. I love the posture of that kitty. Mine always get all scrunched up and hunched up when they are playing, too. It’s so funny to see them all contorted!! Ha. What a great sentiment to go with this mischievous kitty, too. I predict coal for the cat’s stocking this Christmas!
Hey, I have that TH MM Corner Die set, too, but hardly ever get it out to play. I love it with the red foil underneath. (Yes…sooooooo hard to photograph, but you managed it well!!) You have inspired me to grab that set and use it more often!!
Thank you for playing along in the #2019CatLoversHop!!

  7. What a great image! I’ve hopped over from the Cat Lover’s Hop and hope to make some kitty Christmas cards too.

  8. Leslie, this has to be one of the silliest cat images ever and I LOVE IT! Great card design. I just finished reading all about all your feline fur babies and they are all delightful, each in their own way. Fabulous photographs! It’s great to see so many of us doing the Cat Lovers Hop. 😀

  9. This is a beautiful card, Leslie – I have long been a fan of the Crazy Cats and anything Tim Holtz!. So nice to see you at the Cat Lovers Hop this year! xx

  10. Oh, I have this Tim Holtz die and the Crazy Cats stamp set but would never have thought to combine this for a holiday card. What a creative and clever design, love it!
