A Cup Of Christmas Cheer

8/9/20 DT Favorite at Sweet Stampers Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone! Happy Huuump Day! Hope you’re having a wonderful week! Can’t believe next week is the last week of July already… where has this year gone?! It’ll be Christmas again before we know it and I’ve really been in Christmas mode! I’ve popped in this morning to share a card I created for The Outlawz Challenges. I put the finishing touches on a couple cards that were on the table in my studio yesterday afternoon and this is one of them, and it’s for the July Progressive/Freebie Challenge. Our sponsor this month is Twinkle Lane Designs who provided us with the Gingerbread Treat digital stamp set. How stinkin’ cute is this little guy?!

I found several varieties of this cool front step card on Pinterest several weeks ago and traced one version to the Stempeleinmaleins blog where I had to convert the A2 size measurements to inches. I tweaked the measurements for this Christmas card to make it a little wider to accommodate the digital image I printed, so it’s 5-1/2″ square overall.

I created the card base from kraft cardstock. All the coordinating papers I used are from the Echo Park Wise Men Still Seek him 6×6 paper pad which can be used for either feminine or masculine projects. I colored the image with alcohol markers, trimmed it and layered it on tan paper. The digital stamp set included two sentiments so I punched one for the front with a scallop punch and layered it on a slightly larger die cut oval. I added a few copper flat-back pearls to finish the front.

For the back, I cut the other sentiment with a die and layered it on a slightly larger punched scalloped oval which I adhered to another patterned paper from the paper pad. This left plenty of room to write a custom message and signature.

And one more look, folded flat for mailing… totally loving how this turned out!

Sharing in these additional challenges:

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D
