The center of a donut

Hi friends! Happy Hump Day! I’m thrilled to be on the blog today over at The Project Bin with a pretty cool slimline card! I created a diorama card using the Hole Foods stamp set from my stash. As soon as I saw this stamp set I knew I had to make a box of donuts, and there’s no better way to showcase them than in a diorama! I had to tweak the measurements a bit but it worked out!

I wanted a pink and green color combo (one of my favorites) so I created a pink top panel and embellished it with Washi Tape, a stamped pink donut, Crystal Drops and a layered sentiment. The sentiments in this set are hilarious, I might add! ;)

Dioramas are cool in that they fold flat and when the top panel is lifted, the card turns into a box, perfect for these donuts!

I cut a rectangular aperture and adhered acetate behind it. I cut an overlay panel which I embellished with Washi Tape and another sentiment. I stamped the three donuts and icing, and heat embossed the sprinkles. I colored the cake part of each donut with alcohol markers, fussy cut them and adhered them inside the box before putting it together.

And one more peek… SO loving how this turned out! Now I can’t wait to send it, lol!

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D
