Sunflower Thank You

12/20/21 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hi everybody! Is it cold where you are?! We’re having a heat wave here this morning – it’s up to 37 degrees from 13 and 22 degrees the last couple mornings, lol! We got a few inches of snow several days ago and some of it is still on the ground, and we sure do love it! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I discovered that I still have a few card samples I created for Prickley Pear Stamps to share using stamp sets in their Sketched Florals line. This pretty waterfall card (only the second one of these I’ve ever made) features the Sketched Florals Sunflower stamp set along with their Shadow Words Thank You die which I absolutely love.

I cut the card base and square waterfall panels from CutCardStock Basis Gold cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock. I cut the square stamping panels from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock, and stamped the images on the panels from the Sketched Florals Sunflower stamp set in black ink. I stamped them again in Versamark and heat embossed with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. This is an old trick I discovered years ago that yields virtually any color of embossing! I colored the images with Karin Brushmarkers- gold, Pale Orange, Olive Green, Curry and Cinnamon, and adhered the panels together. I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) and made a file folder tab using my WRMK Envelope Punch Board. I assembled the card, using green glittered brads from my stash and creating a pull-tab using a die in the Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers set. I added white flat-back pearls in the upper left corner to finish the card front.

I cut the back panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, embellished it with strips of CutCardStock Basis Gold cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock and adhered it to the card back. Using the Shadow Words Thank You die, I cut the sentiment from the gold and black cardstock as well, and adhered it to the white panel.

And one more look at each waterfall panel as they come down. Waterfall cards are so much fun and I can’t believe I’ve only ever made two of these in all the years I’ve been crafting! And the sunflower is my favorite flower, so you can only imagine how much I love this Sketched Florals Sunflower stamp set!

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D

  3. The waterfall card is beautiful! Love the images you chose. I have never made one (somewhat intimated by the construction). You may have inspired me to try! Thank you for sharing your creation at A Place to Start Challenge blog, :) Samantha, DT member
