Love You

3/1/20 Top 3 at Craft-Dee BowZ!

Hi friends! Happy Thursday – hope you’re having a great week! I’m super stoked to share that I’m guesting for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge this month and we’re being sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps – you know you love some Bugaboo! The Twisted Thursday challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist, so be sure to join The Outlawz for a whole lot of fun going on all the time – there are nine different challenges you can play in and tons of crafty friendships to be made! Today’s challenge is being hosted by Berni and the twist is ‘Be My Valentine.’ If you play the twist, you’ll need to CASE a card from any Outlawz designer on any team, chosen from either their Outlawz gallery or their blog, and share a link to the card you CASE’d so we can see how it inspired you!

I stalked Angela’s blog (she’s the Twisted Thursday Challenge Team Leader) and CASE’d the card in her blog post Anything Goes with Creative Scoop Digis from January 25, 2018. The black, white and red color combo has always been one of my favorites, and I love her pretty card design with the stripes and the doily. This is Angela’s card:

I created a Valentine for my hubby in the black, white and red color combo featuring the adorable Bugaboo Heart Cats digital image that I had in my stash. Ed and I are crazy cat people (we have nine feline fur babies) so this image was perfect. And I always love an image that I don’t have to color, lol!

2020_0104001a

I used two coordinating patterned papers for the background that I layered on red. I die cut a red doily to layer beneath the focal image which I layered on black. I created the front sentiment on the computer, cut it into a strip, layered it on red cardstock and then cut it into a flag. I added a red gingham bow to the girl kitty, some red Gumdrops and tiny white flat-back pearls around the doily.

2020_0104002a

I created the inside sentiment on the computer also and cut the cardstock into a panel which I embellished with leftover papers used on the front and layered on red.

2020_0104003a

And one more peek… I’m really loving how this turned out and I know Ed is going to love it tomorrow! ;)

Floral Post-It Note Holders

Hello, crafty friends! Today is my post day on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you, a set of three floral Post-It Note holders created with the Simply Crafty SVGs Decorative Sticky Note Pad Holders cut file. I am absolutely in love with these!

2019_0908001a

I created the bases with heavy kraft cardstock, then used three different patterned papers and matching cardstock for each one of these cuties. I made several button die cuts out of each color of cardstock, layered them together and adhered them to the front of each holder. Here are close-up shots of each one…

OH BABY!

2/15/20 Featured Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hello, my crafty friends! Hope you’re having a good weekend! This month’s Anything Goes with Dies Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project with you today!

I created the most adorable baby card featuring a pair of shoes that I colored with my Prismacolor pencils. First of all, I’ve had this C.C. Designs rubber stamp in my stash for several years and it’s never had ink on it until now. How in the world does this happen?! Secondly, I’m still somewhat of a novice coloring with pencils and I’m so proud of how this turned out!

2019_1021009a

Aside from the adorable image, this features an ivory and salmon-ish color combo along with several die cuts – large and small classic squares, layered postage stamps and stitched sentiment flag. I embellished the tips of the postage stamp notches with tiny and small iridescent gemstones.

2019_1021010a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the cardstock used on the front, and then stamped a simple sentiment.

2019_1021012a

One more look… oh.my.gosh. I’m so smitten!

Sweet!

2/16/20 Winner at A Bit More Time To Craft!

Hello, my friends! Hope you’re having a good week! This month’s ATC Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! The theme for our February ATC Challenge is Fruity and we’d love to see what you create for our challenge this month!

february 2020 atc

I created a ‘sweet’ ATC this month featuring yummy strawberries! I used Stampin’ Up stamps, ink, paper and cardstock.

2019_1210015a

I adhered a thin strip of the Fruit Stand DSP to the left side of the ATC, and randomly stamped the strawberry image (from the Tart & Tangy stamp set) in Strawberry Slush ink on the right side. I also stamped five strawberries in Old Olive ink on 60# Hammermill copy paper so I could fussy cut the tops to paper piece onto the stamped strawberries.

I stamped the sentiment on thick cardstock in Peekaboo Peach ink, then inked the stamp up again with Tangerine Tango ink and wiped some of the ink off from around the outside edges with my finger, which yielded a cool two-tone look. I added a narrow strip of Peekaboo Peach cardstock and the sentiment to complete the ATC.

2019_1210016a

And here’s one more look… loving how this turned out! Awesome colors on this!

2019_1210017a

I’d love to enter this ATC into the following challenges:

A Bit More Time To Craft: #109 – Anything Goes
A Perfect Time To Craft: #2-2020 – Anything  Goes
Classic Design Challenge: #2 – February Anything Goes

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Stampin’ Up thick Whisper White cardstock, Stampin’ Up Peekaboo Peak cardstock, Stampin’ Up Fruit Stand DSP
Stamps: Stampin’ Up Tart & Tangy and Bravo stamp sets
Ink: Stmapin’ Up Strawberry Slush, Old Olive ink, Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango ink

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and will link up an ATC with us this month! Feel free to create either a card or a coin… or both (wink-wink)! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time! ;)

Life without cats… I don’t think so.

2/10/20 Honorable Mention at Pammie’s Inky Pinkies Challenges!

Hi friends! I’m back again, this time with another fun note card I created using The Project Bin’s awesome Feline Good clear stamp set that I just bought! I love the fat cats and sentiments in this set, and getting the cat dies included is an added bonus! My husband and I could definitely be considered crazy cat people. We have nine cats ranging in age from 14-1/2 years down to 5 months, most are rescues, and we love them as much as our human kids and grandkids!

2020_0125009a

I chose a floral vellum for the front panel and colored all the flowers on the back side of the vellum with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, as well as the fat cat – the shorter, stockier one in the set. ;) I stamped the sentiment in light brown ink to match the cat nestled in the flowers.

2020_0125010a

I embellished the inside of the card base with a leftover strip of the floral vellum used on the front and a thin sliver of light brown cardstock to match the ink that I stamped the front sentiment in, just to pull it all together. I left plenty of room to write a custom message.

2020_01250011a

And one more look… love how this turned out! What’s cuter than a fat cat nestled in a field of flowers?! #insertcheesygrin

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day! Hope you’re not too cold wherever you are… we woke up to 1 degree this morning and they say it feels like -14 degrees out there, lol! So it’ll be a cozy crafting kind of day for me today! I’ve popped in this morning with a super fun tag I created using the Twistoon Margarita digital image! The Twistoon Digi Stamps Facebook February Progressive Challenge is underway and this image is being offered free to challenge participants, so go check it out! As I have mentioned before, if you love twisted cartoon images, this is the place for you! I literally LOL’d the entire time this tag was in the making – this chick obviously spent a little too much time in the tanning bed and used a little too much Sun-In hair lightener on her hair! Remember that stuff?! Bahahaha!

2020_0204001a

First of all, I scanned the image and cut it with my Scan N Cut. My cardstock must have shifted because it was ‘off’ slightly when it cut but I thought it added to quirkiness so I went with it! I cut four more shapes and adhered them on top of one another for a nice thick image which you’ll see in a moment. I colored the image with Bic Mark-It markers and embellished it slightly with a white paint pen.

2020_0204002a

I cut a 3×5 tag and ‘stamped’ with bubble wrap over the front of it with dried marigold distress ink which created a nice subtle background that didn’t take away from the image. I created a sentiment on the computer and printed it on 60# Hammermill copy paper, trimmed it and layered it on red textured cardstock, and adhered it across the bottom of the tag. I created tag hole reinforcements for the front and back using 1/2″ and 1/4″ circle punches, and then looped red, orange and white ribbon through the hole and tied it with bamboo cord. I adhered the image to the tag and finished it with several tiny iridescent gemstones.

2020_0204003a

I told you this image was thick – five cardstock layers thick! ;)

2020_0204004a

And one more look… this was SO fun to create – from too much time in the tanning bed to Sun-In hair lightener overkill! I really DID laugh out loud the entire time! ;)

2020_0204005a

I’d love to enter this tag into the following challenges:

Stamps: Twistoon Margarita digital image, computer-generated sentiment
Ink: Bic Mark-It markers- Fandango Pink, Rambunctious Red, Peach Parfait, Pink Flamingo, Summer Melon, Yellow Blaze, Margarita Green, Oceanview Blue and Tiki Hut Tan; Memento Rich Cocoa marker, Posca white paint pen, Pentel Slicci Metallic Red and Gold pens, Ranger dried marigold distress ink

I love hanging with you

Hello again! As stated in my last post, I’ve joined the Paper Funday Challenges DT for this term and our new challenge is live this morning! I’m sharing my second DT inspiration project for this month’s Anything Goes challenge and again, the optional twist is Valentine’s Day! Our sponsor is Cute As A Button and I was provided the most adorable I’m Hung Up On You digital image to create my second project. OMG, isn’t this guy (or gal) just the cutest?!

2020_0119001a

I used some pretty red and white patterned papers to create the background for this Valentine. I printed the digital image and a computer-generated sentiment on white cardstock. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, trimmed it and layered it on black cardstock. I added Glossy Accents to the hearts.

2020_0119002a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover paper and cardstock used on the front. The inside sentiment is computer-generated as well.

2020_0119003a

I love you

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day – hope you’re having an awesome week! I’m super stoked to be sharing my first DT inspiration project for Paper Funday Challenges! I’m so happy to be joining these ladies this term! Our challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist each month, and this month the twist is Valentine’s Day. Our sponsor this month is Cute As A Button and I used the adorable Mopsy Molly Rag Doll from my stash to create a Valentine.

2020_0108001a

I stuck with a clean and simple design for this card. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and cut it with matting dies, then cut two more pink layers with slightly larger matting dies.

2020_0108002a

I created a computer-generated sentiment for the inside and cut the panel with a matting die, then added a piece of skinny Washi Tape. I cut two more pink layers with slightly larger matting dies like I did on the front.

2020_0108003a

And one more look… such an adorable image and I’m super happy with how this turned out!

Kraft & Black Shoe

2/8/20 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!
2/18/20 Top 3 at Jan’s Digi Stamps Challenges!

Hello friends! I’ve popped in this afternoon to share a fun shoe I created to add to my paper shoe collection HERE! My inspiration came from my friend, Nancy, who has shared a couple shoes she made for a DT she’s currently on. So, of course, I just HAD to have that cut file, lol! All the rest of my paper shoes have been hand-cut from templates, so I felt really privileged to have a cut file for this one!

2020_0203001a

I used the beautiful Black & Kraft paper collection from Canvas Corp, which is nice and thick and of good quality. I cut the file with my Scan N Cut.

2020_0203002a

I sprayed some off-white Wild Orchid Crafts paper flowers with Tattered Angels Pewter Color Wash Paint, then another spritz of Tattered Angels Gold Glimmer Mist. Once they were completely dry, I dabbed some gold acrylic paint on the edges of each flower with my finger. I let them dry for a couple hours and added them to the shoe with hot glue.

2020_0203003a

I also added a narrow strip of Marco’s Metallic Gold cardstock on the heel for a little interest.

2020_0203004a

And one more look from overhead… I sure love my paper shoes and so proud to add this one to my collection!

I’d love to enter this shoe into the following challenges:

happy happy Birthday!

2/4/20 Winner at Creative Inspirations!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday to you! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’m thrilled to be one of the Featured Designers! I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! My Little Scrapbook Store is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for your chance to win a prize! This is our super awesome card sketch this month, created by me:

Stick-It-Down-Feb2020-Card-Sketch

I’ve gotten my feet wet a bit creating sketches for the first six card challenges this year at Stick It Down and have really enjoyed myself! Using this month’s sketch, I created a pretty birthday card in shades of blue. I dug into my digi stash and came up with a blue Fred She Said African Violet digital paper and a coordinating blue Hollyhocks image.

2019_1222013a

The tones on the paper and image are so beautiful! I used a stitched oval die to cut the image and popped it up on light blue foam that just barely peeks out around the die cut. I pulled out a couple Paper Wings Productions stamp sets and stamped the front and inside images.

2019_1222014a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the paper and cardstock used on the front. I really love this quote by Cesare Pavese, an Italian poet who was quite prominent back in his day.

2019_1222015a

One more peek… really loving how this turned out!
