so-fish-ticated

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! I sure hope your weather is cooling off where you are, even if it’s only just a little bit! It sure has been a warm summer! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a very cool DT inspiration project featuring Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock along with Strathmore Cotton Water Color cardstock. I also used Pop Tone Blue Raspberry cardstock on the inside to bring in the color of inks I used on the front for the coral.

I started by inking a 5×7 panel of Strathmore Cotton Water Color cardstock with Ranger stormy sky and a blending brush. I went around the outer perimeter of the panel with Ranger chipped sapphire, leaving the center of the panel just a tad lighter. I ended by spritzing a tiny bit of Let’s Resin Olive Chameleon Powder mixed with water in a Ranger Mini Mister to give it some shimmer. Unfortunately, the shimmer doesn’t show up well in the photos.

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. Next, I stamped the angelfish and coral using the Hero Arts Color Layering Royal Angelfish stamp set. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink along with Catherine Pooler Sauna, Juniper Mist and Rockin’ Red inks for the angelfish. I used Memento Tuxedo Black along with Catherine Pooler Mardi Gras, Aquatini and In the Park inks for the coral. I chose to fussy cut the fish and coral rather than use the coordinating dies, and then ran a Tuxedo Black marker around the edges for a more finished look.

I adhered the coral to the background panel, leaving the tops loose for a dimensional look. I adhered the angelfish and then stamped bubbles in black ink which I colored in with a Kirarina Wink White Pearl marker. I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then adhered the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White and embellished it with a leftover strip of the inked panel from the front and a slightly wider strip of CutCardStock Pop Tone Blue Raspberry. I stamped the sentiment and some bubbles (from the same stamp set) in black ink and colored in the bubbles again with the Kirarina Wink White Pearl marker.

happy autumn

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday! Well, another week has come to a close and I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! I’m delighted to be back with another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today! I’m always in the mood to create a fun fold and the front step card is one of my all-time favorite folds. I used papers and die cut pieces from the Farmhouse Fall Collection that I totally love. Warm, cozy and inviting are the best three words I can think of to describe this Autumn/Fall-themed collection!

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from the 12×12 Cardstock Pack and 6×9 Collection Pack. I assembled the card, using several die cuts from the Falling For You Die Cut Pieces along with several adhesive buttons from the Clementine collection.

I cut the back panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the papers from the 12×12 Cardstock Pack and 6×9 Collection Pack used on the front along with another die cut piece.

Scrappy hugs,

So doggone lucky

Hi friends! Well, another week is almost behind us and we’ve once again quickly landed on Friday… but that’s not a bad thing! It just means we’re that much closer to Christmas! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with an inspiration project featuring the super adorable new Doggone Good Friends stamps and dies! I’m sure everybody has that silly ‘ride or die’ friend who would appreciate a card made with these products! I’ve once again employed the inlaid die cut window technique for this fun friendship card, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from a patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Mango 12×12 Collection Pack. I adhered the patterned paper to the card base avoiding adhesive on the center portion where I planned to die cut an aperture for the inlay. Using a die from the Doggone Good Friends die set, I cut an aperture into the front flap of the card base, reserving the white cardstock negative space piece for stamping the focal image from the Doggone Good Friends stamp set.

I colored the image with alcohol markers and cut it with the coordinating Doggone Good Friends die. I stamped the first part of the sentiment on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock in black ink, trimmed it and adhered it across the top of the card front. I stamped the other two parts of the sentiment directly on the card front and added several clear iridescent gemstones which I colored with a YR32 alcohol marker.

I cut layering panels and an embellishing strip for the inside from additional patterned papers in the Keep It Simple Mango 12×12 Collection Pack, and adhered the focal image through the aperture onto the inside panel. Such a fun card!

Hi friends! Happy Friday to you all! I’ve been invited by the lovely Debbie to guest design once again for Creative Creases Challenges! As always, the challenge is ‘anything goes with a fun fold’ and I’m super stoked to share my GD inspiration project for Challenge #66! You know how much I love fun folds, so these challenges are always right up my alley! I created a super cute double gatefold card using items in the Keep It Simple Boys Boys Boys collection! I totally love this fold!

I cut the card base from a double-sided paper in the Keep It Simple Boys Boys Boys 12×12 Collection Pack. I die cut a stitched circle (for the focal image) from a patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Royal 12×12 Collection Pack using the Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Dies. I adhered a dirt bike sticker from the die cut sticker sheet in the Keep It Simple Boys Boys Boys 12×12 Collection Pack along with a sentiment sticker that I popped up on a double-sided foam strip. The finishing touch was adding two corners from the ephemera sheet in the Royal 12×12 Collection Pack.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of the patterned paper used for the die cut circle on the front. I added a sentiment sticker from the Boys Boys Boys 12×12 Collection Pack and then stamped an additional sentiment from the Keep It Simple Birthday Sentiments stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Scrappy hugs,

sorry for the loss of your furry friend

Hi friends! Happy Hump Day! I have a card to share today that’s not for a design team project, if you can believe that! This is a pet sympathy card featuring a couple awesome products from This Calls For Confetti. I need to rebuild my pet sympathy card stash, as a sweet friend lost a dog several months back and I was so busy I wasn’t able to make a card to send. She was kind enough to send one to Ed and I a while back when we lost one of our cats and I felt awful that I didn’t reciprocate. It’s been nagging at me so I’m determined to make several pet sympathy cards to have in my stash going forward. Sympathy cards, in general, are not easy for me.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock along with a layering panel from a patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Mango 12×12 Collection Pack. I stamped a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Feline Friends stamp set on the layering panel just above the aperture in Memento Morocco ink.

I used the smaller die included in the This Calls For Confetti Heart Shaker Kit to cut a heart into the bottom right corner of the layering panel. Using the larger die in the shaker kit, I cut a heart from a coordinating print and then die cut a paw print into that using the Paper Smooches Cat Icons die. I adhered a rectangular piece of a third coordinating print to the card base behind the heart die cut to be seen through the paw print.

I put a little glue around the back side of the heart aperture to hold the shaker pouch in place, then added a pinch of the Over The Rainbow Bridge confetti and sealed up the shaker while adhering the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from Cougar Smooth White cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips of Cougar and the patterned paper from the Mango collection used on the front. I stamped a sentiment from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Mwah stamp set in Memento Morocco ink.

Scrappy hugs,

Fully Rely On God

Hey everybody! Happy Monday – I hope you have a great week coming up! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with another inspiration project featuring the new F.R.O.G. – Fully Rely On God mini 3×3 stamp set! What a powerful message from our sweet little Ramona, and I have to say that I humbly do this every day! I used some gorgeous Chantahlia Design digital papers for this simple A2 card which I paired with CutCardStock Basis Natural and Pop Tone Bubble Gum cardstock.

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis Natural cardstock and then die cut stitched rectangles from from Chantahlia Design Watercolor Florals digital papers (printed on Basis Natural), CutCardStock Pop Tone Bubble Gum and Basis Natural using the Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies. I stamped the F.R.O.G. image on the Basis Natural stitched rectangle and colored it with alcohol markers and Sharpie Ultra Fine Point markers.

I cut a double-ended flag strip from a coordinating Chantahlia Design digital paper and layered it on Basis Natural. I assembled the card, popping the focal panel up on foam strips, and added several purple gemstones which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

Autumn Harvest

Hi everyone! Well, it’s a just tad bit chilly this morning and we’re supposed to have sunshine today, so it’s going to be a beautiful day! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the awesome September 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I created a stand-up box card which is a little bit different than the box cards we typically see. I’ve made a few of these over the years and they sure make a statement! This one features papers and stickers from this month’s collection along with chipboard accents and chipboard phrases from the upgrades!

I cut the card base and stand-up panel from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the kit. I dug into the upgrades and added a bicycle from the chipboard accents and a chalkboard from the chipboard phrases which I embellished with some stickers from the sticker sheet for a little interest. I added several more chipboard accents from the upgrades to the front of the box portion. The finishing touch was adding several red gemstones to the stand-up panel.

This card folds flat for mailing and is a standard A2 size when folded. The plus is that it’s really a simple design that doesn’t require a long list of supplies! So fun!

FALL

Hey everybody! OMGoodness, we’ve been having the most glorious temps out here in southwestern Colorado! I think Autumn may indeed be on it’s way! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the awesome Autumn/Fall-themed September 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! I created a simple A2 card using papers, stickers and chipboard accents from the upgrades. The cozy living room scene on this card just screams Fall weather which is indeed my favorite time of the year!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base and embellishing strip from CutCardStock Basis Natural cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the kit which I used to create the wall and floor, with the embellishing strip used as the baseboard. For the rug, I die cut a rectangle from an additional paper in the kit using the Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies, and then adhered the couch from the chipboard accents in the upgrades. I added the F-A-L-L pennants (also from the chipboard accents) on a knotted length of white twine which I embellished with orange gemstones. The final touch was adding several details (using stickers from the sticker sheet) to the wall so it didn’t look quite so bare.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip from the edge of one of the patterned papers in the collection, added a sentiment from the sticker sheet, and layered the panel on a coordinating print.

Have a Toadally Merry Christmas

Hey everybody! Dang, can you believe how fast the time is flying?! We’re already headed into the middle of September! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with an inspiration project featuring the new Christmas with Spinach and Ramona stamp set! This is one of the cutest stamp sets I have ever had in my hands and I created an inverted standing triple panel card to show off these adorable little critters!

I cut the card base and front panel from CutCardStock Basis 80# White 12×12 cardstock. I stamped the image from the Christmas with Spinach and Ramona stamp set on the front panel and colored it with alcohol markers, adding some accents with metallic pens. I stamped snowflakes all over the card base and front panel and added clear iridescent gemstones to the center of random snowflakes for some pretty sparkle. I stamped the sentiment on Basis White, trimmed it into three strips, and added it to the front which completed the card.

Delightful Serenity of Nature

Howdy peeps! I hope you’re having a great weekend! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #74! I created a nature-themed triple cube card. I’m totally addicted to this fun fold! Despite the complex look, this one is really pretty simple and I’ve made quite a few of these over the past couple years. They are so fun to embellish!

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from a variety of KNC Essentials papers (Showering Nature 12×12 paper pack, Stories of the Wild 12×12 paper pack and Stories of the Wild 6×6 paper pack) and CutCardStock Bright Silver Foil cardstock. Each panel was embellished with ephemera from the KNC Essentials Stories of the Wild Ephemera pack.

The two back panels were cut from 80# Solar White and CutCardStock Bright Silver foil cardstock and embellished with a couple more critters from the KNC Essentials Stories of the Wild Ephemera pack. I stamped a sentiment from KNC Essentials Stories of the Wild stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink which completed the card.
