Happy Healing Bouquet

Hi friends! Hump Day has rolled around again and we’re almost to the end of March already! I have a fun project to share today – a box card bouquet of flowers in a mason jar! Those who know me know that I’m a real sucker for fancy folds and I’m always on the look-out for new ones to try! ;)

2020_0217001

I subscribe to a variety of crafty email newsletters and when I saw this adorable box card, I just HAD to have the cut file! I started by separating all the elements in the cut file and cutting them with my Scan N Cut from various colors of cardstock. I put the bouquet together first and added a pearl embellishment to the center of the rose in the bouquet.

2020_0217002

I hand-cut the three acetate pieces and adhered the outer mason jar, lid and bottom pieces. I moved to the inside and adhered the stems to the inner mason jar acetate, and then adhered the acetate in place. I finished the card with a stamped get well greeting and some twine tied in a  bow. Here are a few shots of the card from different angles. So cool – I love it!

And one more peek… I’m so loving how this turned out! The sky is the limit with regard to occasions and color/patterns!

2020_0217006

Okay, okay, before I end this post, I have to share a pic of my frequent light box visitor, Loki, who came just as I was taking the light box apart. Hubby named him very appropriately, as Loki means God of Mischief! And is he ever! ;)

just dance

Hi everyone! Well, it’s hard to believe it’s March already! I’m happy to share that I’m once again sponsoring and guest designing for C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, this time for C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #547 – Female! As a sponsor for this challenge, I have a great prize pack consisting of a package of Prima flowers, an adorable Crafter’s Companion Paintbox Poppets rubber stamp and a slew of handmade bows from Polly’s Paper Studio – all for a lucky winner over on the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog! So come on over and play with us!

I created an encouragement card. Those who know me know that I am a fancy fold fiend. I discovered a corner fold over on Liz’s Crafty Sunflower blog which looks very similar to one I made several years ago HERE but constructed a little differently. I see more of these little ballerinas on a birthday card for one of our granddaughters later this year using this fold! ;)

2020_0226001

So, what’s better than an adorable little ballerina dancing her heart out?! FIVE adorable little ballerinas dancing their hearts out! ;) These stamps and dies are from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and I’m so smitten! The sky is the limit with what one could create with these ballerinas using different sentiments!

2020_0226002

As Liz mentioned in a comment on her blog, the construction of this card is very simple. I used a 10″ square piece of white cardstock, scored at 5″, rotated and scored again at 5″. Cut one center score line up from the bottom to the center, then diagonally score the two sections at the top and decorate. There’s a plain white panel ‘hidden’ underneath for a signature and handwritten message. I used a Unity stamp on that panel and added half of a Velcro circle to stabilize the card while in the open position.

2020_0226003

The card folds into a 5″ square, flat for mailing. So fun! Love how it turned out!

i love us

Hi everyone! Oh my gosh, time just needs to slow down – we CAN’T be approaching the end of January already! I’m not posting on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog today but have popped in this morning to share an extra DT inspiration project with you, a sweet Valentine created with the free (yep, free…) Simply Crafty SVGs Flowers For Mom Card cut file. I was really thinking outside the box on this one when I decided on a Valentine.

2019_09040011a

I added some Dandelion Yellow Crystal Drops to the centers of the flowers for a little texture, and placed the sentiment on the bottom of the flower pot.

2019_09040012a

I really love this design – the large flower there in the center pops up when the card is opened. Super cute!

2019_09040013a

And here’s a look from overhead so you can see the cool design on this!

2019_09040014a

And one final look… folded flat and ready to be put in an envelope for mailing. So awesome!

coffee & friends

Hi everyone! It’s Hump Day… what the camel says, lol! Today is my post day on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project with you, an awesome coffee card created with the Simply Crafty SVGs Latte Box Card cut file. What a fun and super easy card to put together! I stamped a sentiment on the small layered panel on the front. And I love that Sandy threw in an envelope which I cut with matching paper I used on the cup for a coordinated look!

2019_087008a

Here’s a shot of the back of the cup which features a plain panel for writing a custom message and signature.

2019_087009a

And one more look, flattened and ready to pop into the envelope! I’m absolutely loving how this one turned out! Would be so easy to mass produce this to give several in different colors as a set! Love, love, love!

Ornament Box Card

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day and January 1st! The first challenge of the year is live over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #18 – January Anything Christmas Goes! You know me and fancy folds… I’m always on the search for new ones to try! I’ve been making box cards for years but found a different kind of box card in the tutorial section at Splitcoast Stampers HERE. Love, love, love!

2019_0925021a

I dug into my stash of Christmas paper and settled on this Stampin’ Up paper pack which is a favorite and one of my go-to’s. The tutorial author mentioned that lighter weight paper works best for this project to get good crisp folds, so this paper definitely fits the bill. Using more Stampin’ Up supplies, I stamped and die cut a Christmas ornament to decorate the belly band.

2019_0925022a

Here you see the opened card revealing the box feature. I placed a stamped sentiment card inside the box which is removable to make it easy to sign. ;)

2019_0925023a

I added red Stampendous Dot Sparklers to the sentiment card, ornament and belly band.

2019_0925024a

One final look… this folds flat and fits nicely into a standard envelope. Love how this turned out!

wonderful moments

1/18/20 Top 3 at Not Just Cards!

Hi everyone! Christmas will be here exactly two weeks from today! Today is my post day on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you, a super cute Christmas card for my stash created with the Simply Crafty SVGs Christmas Tree Farm Box Card cut file. How about that sentiment… wouldn’t you agree that going to pick out the perfect Christmas tree made wonderful moments and warm memories?! Whether you were a child or an adult taking your children, it’s a wonderful time of the year!

2019_0904006a

I used some very cool star emboss resist paper for the background and inked it with several shades of blue distress inks, making the outside darkest and going lighter and lighter toward the moon.

2019_0904007a

I inked some light shadows across the moon with gray ink, colored the star on the Christmas tree with sparkle overlay marker, and gave the ornaments a little dimension with a white gel pen.

2019_0904008a

I stamped the front and back sentiments on white cardstock in black ink and cut them with a rectangle die. I layered the back sentiment on dark green cardstock.

2019_0904009a

And here’s one final look, flattened and ready to put in an envelope. Love, love, love this card!

BOO!

Hello, friends! It’s Day 4 of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop and I’ve stopped in this morning to share another card with you! If you’re a fellow cat lover, be sure to come on over and play – Janis has worked hard getting tons of sponsors so that means there are tons of prizes to be won!

I created a swing easel card featuring a Tim Holtz Crazy Cat with accessories in all the bright Halloween colors of black, purple, green, yellow and orange! SO fun! My inspiration for this card came from a recent Splitcoast Stampers newsletter HERE. Those who know me – even moderately well – know that I love me some fun folds and I’m always looking for new ones to try!

2019_1023001a

I’m in love with the Tim Holtz Crazy Cats stamps and dies right now, so I pulled them back out along with the coordinating Crazy Things stamps and dies, and stamped, colored and die cut my cat along with his hat, broom and pumpkin. I cut six of the BOO! die cuts and layered them for dimension, to keep the easel portion of the card open, and added an orange gemstone to the exclamation point. ;)

2019_1023002a

Here are a couple close-ups. I stamped a simple sentiment on the back of the cat panel and left a spot to sign the card. I included a side shot of the card below so you can see the cool construction. ;)

And here’s one more look… this card folds flat for mailing. How cool is that?!
