peace

Happy Saturday, friends! I’m excited to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created an elegant Christmas card featuring some sparkly washi tape, some awesome brads, and some timeless enamel dots!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from white cardstock and a red cardstock panel which I adhered to the front of the card base. I cut a small square white cardstock element that I covered with Glitter Star Washi Tape. I cut a birch tree window die cut from white silver cardstock (awesome new die in my stash) and adhered it to the front of the square element. I added a Cardinal Brad and a Cardinal Profile Brad along with a couple Snowflake Brads to the square element and adhered it to the card front. I finished the front with several White Enamel Dots.

I kept the inside panel fairly clean by just stamping a sentiment in red ink and layering the panel on red cardstock.

And one more look… this is one of my own all-time favorite designs that I’ve CASE’d for another design team project, lol! The same but a little different! ;)

Hi everyone! Happy Fri-YAY! Well, when you’re retired, every day is like a Friday, lol! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring Bonsai Green and Habanero Red cardstock that was included in our Designer’s Pack – which happens to be on sale this month so be sure to get some! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a pretty Christmas card in traditional red, green and white with a pop of silvery white!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base and two panels from Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I also cut layering panels from Habanero Red cardstock, Curious Metallic White-Silver cardstock and Bonsai Green cardstock. I stamped the front image and sentiment in brown ink on one of the white panels and colored the pine boughs with Nuvo alcohol markers. I stamped the cardinal in red ink and cut it with the coordinating die along with two more die cuts which I layered for a little dimension. I added a strip of red glitter washi tape down the right side and adhered all the panels together and then to the card front. The finishing touch was the addition some snowflake bling.

I embellished the inside panel with red glitter washi tape and silver white and green cardstock strips, stamped the sentiment in brown ink, and layered the panel on green cardstock.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! Traditional Christmas colors are the best!

Hope you get all tangled up in the season!

Hi everyone! It’s just a tad chilly here but we sure are loving it! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #28 – November Anything Christmas Goes! I created a fun and somewhat CAS Christmas card for my stash featuring a most adorable moose adorned with a string of Christmas lights. I love this Great Impressions image and sentiment, and it’s the second time I’ve used it for Christmas cards.

Leslie

I stuck with a simple design. I colored the image with Bic Mark-It markers, trimmed it horizontally and layered it on red cardstock. I added the sentiment above the image and added some stamped snowflakes.

2020_01270010a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the red cardstock which I placed across the bottom of the panel, and then stamped a CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sentiment in black ink.

2020_01270011a

And one more peek… I sure do love how this turned out! That is one adorable moose right there! ;)

Never Grow Up canvas

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday – I hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend! Our new challenge is live at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #43 – Anything Goes + Making Your Own Background. Remember, all of our projects are Anything Goes and we offer an optional twist each month just to inspire you! The twist is not required to play! I used the awesome TandiArt Rainbow Girl 2 digital stamp from my stash to create this fun mixed media canvas. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten inky and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

2020_0119009a

This canvas took several days to complete and features a background full of texture created with five different stencils, coloring with Iridescent Gelatos, random background stamping and black Gesso splatters. I added a few details to the images with metallic pens and Glossy Accents. I want to share a tip that I was excited to discover prior to sealing the canvas. I knew the inket printer ink would smear when I brushed on the multi medium matte, so I covered each printed element with clear Gesso by dabbing it on with my finger in an up and down motion rather than side to side to keep ink from smearing. I gave it a couple hours to dry thoroughly and then I sealed the entire front and sides of the canvas with the multi medium matte. Voila – it worked and no smearing! I created a hanger with a beaded chain that I embellished with blue bamboo cord and a blue seam binding bow. I also created a dangle for each side. Here are a few close-ups:

And one more look… I love how this turned out and can’t wait to hang it in my studio! Never Grow Up! ;)

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! It’s time for a new challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #139 – Anything Goes! I created a colorful ‘congrats’ card using two Dare 2B Artzy stamp sets that I’ve had in my stash for a while, and it sure felt good to finally get around to using them!

Leslie

I stamped the image in black ink on the front panel and then decided I wanted it embossed, so I stamped it again in Versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. This is a great trick to get virtually any color of embossing! I stamped the congrats sentiment in black ink and then colored the image with Bic Mark-It markers. The Bics are fine-tip markers in bright colors which really dressed up the image. ;)

2019_1229011a

I stamped the inside sentiment and colored it with the Bic Mark-It markers, and then embellished the panel with several strips of colored cardstock to match the colors used in the image.

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend and the weather isn’t too bad where you are! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #52 – November Anything Goes! I created a fun birthday card using a stamp and dies set I bought at a friend’s ‘de-stash’ event a year and a half ago. Like so many other stamps, dies and other crafty goodies in my stash… how can I own such excellent things for so long and not use them?!

2020_01250013a

This card was a blast. I love using large stamps because of the massive area to work on. I went with a bright color scheme, coloring the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I added an additional die cut party hat embellished with a white paint pen and a limeade Sprinkle. ;)

2020_01250014a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the papers used on the front, and stamped the birthday sentiment on a rectangle die cut.

2020_01250015a

And one more look… super happy with how this turned out! Can’t wait to send it to somebody, lol!

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! Wowzers, can you believe we’re finishing out October?! Unbelieveable! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a festive Christmas card in traditional red and green featuring some fun washi tape, brads and bling!

I created a side-folding A2 card base and a slightly smaller panel from textured red cardstock. I cut a smaller panel that I covered with Christmas Pattern Washi Tape. I covered a scrap piece of white cardstock with green foiled paper and then die cut letters spelling M-E-R-R-Y which I added to the panel.

I affixed a Santa Hat Brad at an angle on the M and two Stocking Brads at the end just past the Y. I stamped ‘Christmas’ in green ink on a scrap piece of white cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it beneath the main part of the sentiment. The finishing touch was the addition of a few green 8 mm Cut Jewels.

I embellished the inside panel with a piece of the Christmas Pattern Washi Tape and a thin strip of the textured red cardstock, stamped the sentiment in green ink and layered it on more of the textured red cardstock.

And one more look… super happy with this design! Loving the traditional Christmas colors!

MEOW!

Happy Friday, friends! I’m back this afternoon with my final cat project for the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop! This is Day 5 and officially the last day, but tomorrow (Day 6) has been left open for participants to finish posting projects and Sunday (Day 7) to finish commenting. I’ve had a great time this week and I’m so glad I participated again this year! A huge shout-out to Janis for organizing another amazing event! If you participated, I wish you good luck in all the prize draws!

I created a fun congrats card in bold, bright colors using a circular opening die in my stash that I’ve had for years and have used once. *sigh* I just don’t know how that happens. Maybe too much stuff?! Naw… never! ;) But wait till you see the sentiment on the inside… no truer words were ever spoken, lol!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from hot pink cardstock (still in the pink mode, lol), and cut an ever-so-slightly-smaller panel from striped paper and a narrow strip of hot pink foiled paper that actually looks purple in the first two photos… but I promise it’s hot pink! I die cut a trio of circular openings through both layers and then adhered a white panel behind it. I added several die cut cats, the sentiment stamped in black ink, and a few matching gemstones to complete the front. Super simple design!

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the striped paper and a very thin strip of hot pink cardstock, stamped the sentiments and tiny paw prints in black ink, and layered the panel on hot pink cardstock for a tone-on-tone look.

And one more peek… what a great card! One cat really does lead to another! My hubby is angling to bring home a feral kitten that has been hanging around his shop. So far I have resisted… it would be number ten in our cat tribe, lol! ;)

More Gorgeous Than Ever

Happy Friday, peeps! I’ve popped in today to share another awesome DT inspiration project for The Project Bin! I used the amazing Born Yesterday stamp set for this pretty birthday card which I paired with a couple gorgeous coordinating papers from a new 6×6 paper pad. Wow, sure packs a punch! ;)

I created a standard A2 size top folding card base and cut the pieces for the front panel. I applied a strip of white glitter tape to the seam and adhered the panel to the card base. I cut a stitched oval from the paper for the focal element, stamped the sentiment in brown ink and adhered it to a second stitched oval cut from cardstock. I flagged one end of two strips of paper and adhered them beneath the focal element. The final touch was the application of five iridescent gemstones.

I embellished the inside panel with strips of the paper used on the front, stamped the sentiment in brown ink and layered the panel on the paper.

And one more look… I’m so loving how this turned out! Wowzers! ;)

Happy Christmas

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! It’s Day 4 of the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop already and I’m back this afternoon with a fun Christmas center panel easel card! The Hop is going on until the 31st, so if you’re a fellow cat lover, come join us! There’s a lot of fun and games to join in every day, and Janis has been busy lining up some pretty awesome prizes to give away at the end!

I still had Tim’s Crazy Cats and Crazy Things stamps and dies within reach after using them day before yesterday, so I grabbed them and The Project Bin’s Merriest Christmas stamp set which has sentiments that go perfectly with this cat, lol! This guy is so stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it!

I created the card base from Solar White cardstock and layers from coordinating Christmas papers. This is an easy fold that works up quickly. I adjusted the measurements to make this a 5″ square card.

Here’s an angled view so you can see the cool but simple construction. Not sure why his hat is looking orangey in the photos… hmmmm…

And one more peek… here it is folded (almost) flat for mailing! Another one for the stash! ;)
