Happy Holiday

Hello, my crafty friends! Hope you had a great weekend! A new challenge launched over at UnstampaBelles last Monday and today is my showcase day on the blog. I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #96 Star Struck Starry Night. The twist this month is to use sparkle pens and/or glues. The twist is not mandatory to play but we’d love to see your creativity and it will put you in the running for DT Favorite! This is my last post for UnstampaBelles and I’d like to thank Susan and the rest of the team for having me along for this past year. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed challenging myself to create projects with no stamping! ;)

I created a super cute Christmas card featuring a glittery starry background paper with an adorable image of a little girl whispering into the snowman’s ear. ;)

2019_0601001a

I chose two coordinating papers, an image and a sentiment to create my background. I popped the main portion of the background up on foam and adhered a thin strip of a different paper down the right side. I layered the focal image on dark brown cardstock and adhered the sentiment to the bottom of it, then adhered the panel to the background.

2019_0601002a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of paper and the dark brown cardstock, added the sentiment, and layered the panel on brown cardstock.

On more look at this adorable card… loving how it turned out!

You kids get off my lawn!

Hi friends! Well, I’m just having so much fun I can hardly stand it! I’ve created yet another project today that’s not for a design team! I recently joined the Twistoon Digi Stamps group on Facebook, and Lisa launched the December Progressive Challenge late last night. If you love twisted cartoon digis, this is the place for you! Her art is amazing! I chose Little Banner for the birthday card I created for my husband’s next birthday! It’s one of four freebies Lisa is offering in the Twistoon Digi Stamps store specifically for this challenge. What a hoot!

2019_1207005a

I printed this image on 60# Hammermill copy paper – my new favorite for crisp printing. I mentioned in my last post that my alcohol markers have bit the dust – quite a few of them have frayed tips and have been rendered useless, so I’ve had to rely on other coloring mediums. I pulled out the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for this image. You can’t see it very well in the photos, but I used my Marvy Snow Marker for his hair, lol! It creates great dimension! Ed thought the card was great and he chuckled… little does he know that it’ll be all about him next June, lol!

2019_1207006a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of paper and cardstock used on the front. I pulled out some Hero Arts sentiment stamp sets and decided on Irreverent Birthday Messages. There are so many good ones in that stamp set that I had a hard time deciding which one(s) to use!

2019_1207007a

And one more peek… love, love, love! Can’t wait for Ed’s birthday in June – he’ll be the ‘big six-oh’ and this will be perfect! I’m two years older than him but I’m still going to tease him about this milestone! Bahahaha!

12/23/19 Top 5 at Arty Divas!

Hello, my crafty peeps! Surprise! I’ve popped in today to share a project I created today that’s NOT for a design team, lol! I’m playing again over at The Outlawz Challenges, this time in the Twisted Thursdays December 5-December 18 Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes with a twist of using a hoarded supply and what is it? I’m a known paper hoarder and I guess I should be in a 12-step program, lol! I am totally in love with the gingham papers in the Simple Stories Wood & Gingham Basics paper pad and I use them sparingly because I don’t want to use them up, lol! Sad, huh?!

2019_1207001a

My Besties is sponsoring this challenge and I have several of her images in my stash, so I printed the Fluffy Cafe image on 60# Hammermill copy paper. I ran into a snafu in my studio when I went to color the image with my alcohol markers. The tips of most of them have ‘frayed’ and basically have become unusable. :( So I grabbed my Prismacolor Pencils – to begin with I’m still such a novice with pencil coloring and then, on top of that, I couldn’t find a dang pencil sharpener (who does that?!)! At any rate, I put my big girl panties on and proceeded with my project and I think, all in all, she turned out pretty well. I stamped the sentiment from Dare 2B Artzy’s Perfect Blend stamp set in Jet Black StazOn ink and then cut the image with a stitched oval die. I made the sleeve from Cardstock Warehouse’s brown box kraft cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine in a Darice Stripe embossing folder, then layered it on some DCWV pink double-sided textured cardstock. I added several light pink gemstones to finish the front.

2019_1207002a

I embellished the inside with a leftover piece of gingham paper and a strip of the pink textured cardstock used on the front. I stamped the inside sentiment on white cardstock and cut it with a stitched rectangle die.

2019_1207003a

Here’s one more look… simply put, I’m smitten! I L-O-V-E how this turned out!

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a good week – time sure is passing by rather quickly! This month’s ATC Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers! I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! The theme for our December ATC Challenge is Bling and we’d love to see what you create for our challenge this month!

December 2019 ATC

I created a super cute and rather humorous birthday ATC this month. I absolutely love this Great Impressions sentiment stamp, and needless to say I chuckled a few times while this was in the making, lol!

2019_08170018a

I created a pretty blingy candle die cut with DCWV Washi Tape Basics-Glitter and Foil affixed to cardstock for a little dimension. I love a little paper (well, cardstock) piecing! I finished the ATC off with a few tiny iridescent stars.

2019_08170017a

And here’s one more look. Not sure if I’ll keep this or if I’ll trade it. Loving how it turned out!

Special Delivery

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday – hope you’re having a great week! I’m sharing a project I created yesterday that is not a DT inspiration project. Can you believe that?! It doesn’t happen very often because I’m usually busy creating for my design teams. I recently re-joined The Outlawz Challenges after being MIA for several years and will be playing in some of the challenges there. You ought to check them out – lots of fun going on!

One of the challenges I’m playing in is the Freebie/Progressive Challenge and I received the LeAnn’s World 101 Daisy digital stamp to create with. Nice perk, huh?! I created a super cute Christmas card featuring the adorable Daisy stringing her Christmas tree lights, and lots of layers and texture.

2019_1204001a

I colored the image with Studio 71 alcohol markers and cut it with a dotted rectangle die which I layered on a slightly larger red glitter dotted rectangle die cut. I used fun green/white polka dot and red/white striped papers, along with a strip of white corrugated paper, all from Canvas Corp. I used a Marvy snow marker on her hat and Glossy Accents on the tree lights and ornaments. I tied some green bamboo cord diagonally on the image, and added some Candi Minis. I finished the front with a sentiment from the Tim Holtz idea-ology festive ephemera pack.

2019_1204002a

I embellished the inside panel with more of the red/white striped paper and a narrow strip of plain red paper (also from Canvas Corp), and stamped the Christmas sentiment from Unity in green ink.

2019_1204003a

One more look from an angle so you can see all the layers and texture. What a fun image to work with – she’s absolutely adorable!

12/7/19 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday – hope your week is off to a great start! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Stinkin’ Inkers and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for our Things That Sparkle challenge this month. We’d love to see your project using gems, glitter, foil, etc. (Update: Challenge launched but was taken down for some reason – not sure what happened but I will leave this inspiration project up on my blog since it received an honor and several comments.) This is my last post for Stinkin’ Inkers and I’d like to thank Terri and the rest of the gang for having me along for the past year and a half. I created an adorable birthday card for our challenge this month featuring tiny flat-back pearls on the party dress and dots on the stitched oval background embellished with Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. That’s my sparkle! ;)

2019_08170025a

I used several coordinating papers from The Paper Studio’s Mirabelle cardstock stack (one of my favorite stacks) for the dress, oval and background. The front and inside sentiments are stamps from CC Designs. I cut the front sentiment with a MFT Fish Tail Sentiment Strip die.

2019_08170026a

I embellished the inside panel with a portion of one of the papers from the Mirabelle cardstock stack, and then stamped the sentiment.

2019_08170027a

One more look… can you say adorable?! I think my mountain and valley folds are reversed, lol! Oh well… I still love it!

Know what I love?

12/31/19 DT Favorite at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge!

Hi everyone! Happy December 1st! Yay… one of my favorite months of the year! Love December – the sites, the sounds and the smells! Our new challenge is live over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #32 – Anything Goes + Veggie Stamping! Yep, you read that right… let your creativity soar with carrots, green beans, dried beans, lettuce, celery, etc.! I used celery! ;)

2019_0922010a

I created roses with the celery. It’s a good thing I had two celery ends, lol! I initially tried acrylic paint but it didn’t work too well so I used the second celery end on ink pads, and that was definitely the ticket – they turned out pretty good! I stamped and watercolored some leaves on each of the roses.

2019_0922011a

While I had the acrylic paint out, I ‘stamped’ the bottom panel with bubble wrap. After adding the rose panel, I added green glitter and green stripe Washi Tape at the seam, and stamped the sentiment across the bottom.

2019_0922012a

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover piece of the celery-stamped rose panel and some of the Washi Tape, and then stamped the simpel sentiment.

2019_0922013a

Here’s one more peek… I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! This was definitely a fun challenge!

believe

Hi everyone! Well, this weekend is about over – hope you’ve had a fun one! This month’s challenge is live over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #41 – December Anything Goes! I created an awesome Christmas card to add to my stash featuring the amazing Tim Holtz Ice Skates die. I absolutely love this die and CASE’d my own design from a few months back that I created for another design team. If you’re interested, you can see it HERE.

2019_08170035a

I used a pretty plaid embossing folder for the background and lightly sanded it while it was still in the folder. I added red glitter Washi Tape and gold Skinny Washi Tape, along with two shiny red Candi Minis and two awesome Tim Holtz ice skate die cuts. I lightly inked the edges of the ice skates to make them look worn, colored the heels black and painted the blades with a silver metallic paint marker, and laced them up with cord. I cut three ivory ‘believe’ die cuts and one red die cut for a tone-on-tone look, and layered them all together.

2019_08170036a

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of red cardstock and stamped the inside sentiment which is from Unity Stamps.

2019_08170037a

One more look… love, love, love! Can’t wait to send this one! ;)

Let It Snow

12/19/19 Winner at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog!

Hello, my crafty friends! I hope you’re enjoying some cool weather wherever you are! It’s almost Christmas – YAY! This month’s challenge launched this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #17 – December Anything Christmas Goes! I created an adorable Christmas card to add to my stash which features a nice warm pair of mittens with sparkly snowflakes! ;)

I pulled out a very cool paper stack from The Paper Studio called Four Seasons and Everything In Between -2- and created my background from a pretty light teal gingham pattern. The coordinating paper featured a bunch of different Christmas sayings so I cut off a strip of Let It Snow which I placed across the bottom of the front panel.

2019_08170030a

I adhered the Cottage Cutz Mittens die cut to an oval die cut and rotated it slightly. I thought the snowflakes on the mittens needed some ‘pizzazz’ so I paper-pieced some glitter pieces into them. I added some Neptune and Red Berry Crystal Drops to finish off the front.

2019_08170031a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the paper and cardstock used on the front, then stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches.

2019_08170032a

One more look… loving how this turned out despite the smeared Red Berry Crystal Drops in one spot. That bottle was a little thicker than the others and the peak dropped to the left and a small smear resulted when I cleaned it up. Darn it – I sure didn’t want to re-make the entire front panel! We’ll just say it’s not a mistake but a happy accident, lol! ;)

A Bright and Happy Christmas

12/6/19 Top 3 Winner at Alphabet Challenge Blog!
12/31/19 Winner at Your Scrapbook Place!
12/31/19 Site-Wide Winner at The Outlawz Challenges!

Hello, my crafty friends! Woo-hoo, it’s December 1st and not much longer before the jolly round man will be making his appearance! A new challenge is live over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #128 – Christmas Bingo! Here’s how to play – choose any letter in the word BINGO on our Bingo card below and use at least three of the items in that column on your Christmas project!

Christmas-Bingo

We’re being sponsored this month by The Paper Shelter so come on over and play for a chance to win a prize! I created a fun tri-fold Christmas card using the most adorable Are You Ready My Friend digital stamp! I chose the letter B on the Bingo card and used the first four items in that column on my card – red, gold, die cut and green.

Isn’t this image just the cutest?! I cut it with a square die and then layered it on a fancy gold mirror die cut. I added crystal clear sparkle overlay marker to the fur on Santa’s hat and coat, then added Glossy Accents to Rudolph’s nose and set the piece aside. I cut red striped and red dotted panels for the front and layered them on kraft brown bag paper, and adhered them to the card base. I adhered the focal image to the left flap and added red gumdrops and a bow.
