Let’s Go Ghouls

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great weekend! Our weather out here in southwestern Colorado has been absolutely beautiful over the past few weeks. We haven’t gotten the sweltering heat (knock wood) that lots of other areas have been getting. I have a wonderful Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today created with our new Haunted Halloween Collection! OMGoodness, if you’re a Halloween fan, you’re gonna love this one! The papers are amazing and you won’t believe the size of the pack of die cut pieces… it’s called a mega pack and they aren’t lying, lol! I created a haunted house shaped card featuring papers and die cut pieces from this new collection paired with our KIS Cuts Build-A-House die set! I love shaped cards and this was a lot of fun!

Using dies in the KIS Cuts Build-A-House die set, I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White along with layering panels (and house pieces and parts) from patterns in the Haunted Halloween 12×12 Collection Pack and CutCardStock Lessebo Sunset Orange cardstock. The assembly is always the most fun, and I enjoyed picking out the die cuts and sentiments I wanted to use, popping some of the pieces up on adhesive foam.

I embellished the top portion of the inside flap with the striped pattern paper used on the front and some die cuts. I added a sentiment from the die cut pack, which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

ROAR!

Hi friends! Happy middle of August already! Dang, where is the time going??! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #85. Our challenges are always ‘anything goes’ so come on over and play! I zeroed in on the Keep It Simple collection called Boys Boys Boys to create this super cute dino card with a torn paper background. I saw this technique on Pinterest a while back and decided to give it a go. The prints in this collection are fairly bold so I used a vellum panel to tone it down a bit. Subtle or light prints would be fine to use without a vellum panel. This was fun and I will definitely be using this technique again!

I cut a standard side-folding A2 card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I created the background with strips of torn paper and then cut it with a Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Die. Since the background was busy, I used the next smaller stitched rectangle die and cut a panel from CutCardStock Glama Natural Translucent Vellum to tone it down a bit. I added a sentiment and two dinosaur stickers along with two Keep It Simple Back To Basics Jade Enamel Dots, which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a torn piece of patterned paper. I added another sentiment sticker and layered the panel on CutCardStock Basis Blue cardstock.

Love You A Latte

Hey everybody! Happy Sunday – I hope you’re having a great weekend! I have a fun shaped card to share with you today for Keep It Simple created with our new KIS Cuts Freshly Brewed die set! I used acetate for the entire front of the card to resemble a clear plastic cup. And how about those vellum ice cubes… do they look real, or what?!

Using the KIS Cuts Freshly Brewed dies, I cut the cup base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock, the whipped cream and background and hearts from cream and brown papers in the Farmhouse Fall 6×9 Cardstock Pack, the straw from papers in the Rose 12×12 Collection Pack, and the ice cubes from CutCardStock Glama Natural Vellum cardstock.

As with any project like this, the most fun is the assembly! I added some coffee-colored yummies to the whipped cream that I pulled out of the Polymer Clay Assorted Sprinkles. I embellished the lip of the cup with several Rose Enamel Dots. And finally, I stamped the sentiment from the Sent With Love Collection Stamps in Catherine Pooler Sand Castle ink and cut it with the Sent With Love Outline Dies.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock using a die in the set, and added the sentiment cut from the brown paper used on the front using the KIS Cuts Ford Double Cut Font. This was definitely a fun one!

Scrappy hugs,

Fall Greetings

Hey everybody! I hope you had a good weekend and are keeping relatively cool. Our temps have reached the 90s here (while everybody else around us has been in the low 100s) and I’m now ready for Fall, lol! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a shaped Fall-themed card. Our orange, brown and gold cardstock is on sale this month so I used Coffee Bean and Brick Orange from our new Lessebo line paired with our Gold Glitter cardstock. I also used Lessebo Dawn Maroon and my studio staple, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. This is the first time I’ve used this background stamp from Taylored Expressions and I really love how this card turned out. I see lots of different color palettes being used with this stamp for various seasons or holidays. ;)

I started by stamping the background in Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock using the Taylored Expressions In Bloom cling stamp. Then, using the coordinating clear stamps, I filled in the blooms and leaves using Catherine Pooler Daydream, Over Coffee, Peppermint Scrub, Tiara, Orange Peel and Eucalyptus inks. I added several small Eyelet Outlet clear glitter enamel dots to the center of three of the blooms.

Next, using the Scrapbook.com Nested A2 Arches dies, I cut the card base from Lessebo Coffee Bean and layering panels from Lessebo Brick Orange and the stamped Solar White cardstock panel. I die cut the F-A-L-L letters from Lessebo Dawn Maroon and Gold Glitter using the KIS Cuts Twinkling Stars Font which I layered together in an offset fashion. I stamped the second portion of the sentiment on a Solar White scrap in Icing on the Cake ink (using the Keep It Simple Autumn Charm Autumn Sentiments stamp set) which I trimmed.

Using the same arched dies, I cut the inside panels from Lessebo Brick Orange and Solar White cardstock and embellished the bottom with leftover strips of the stamped background and gold glitter cardstock used on the front. I stamped another sentiment from the Keep It Simple Autumn Charm Autumn Sentiments stamp set on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock, fussy cut it and colored the word ‘Fall’ with an alcohol marker.

Holly Jolly Christmas

Hi friends! Happy weekend – I hope you’re having a good one! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple inspiration project with you today – an extra one I made for our ‘Christmas in July’ showcase. Truth be told, I’m down for Christmas projects all year long, and this pocket card is one I had a lot of fun making! There are quite a few versions of a pocket card out there and I made this one from a single sheet of 12×12 cardstock. I have included my handwritten template in the Freebies section of my blog HERE. I used our Rose and Jade paper collections (I totally love a pink and green color combo), stamps and dies from our Scandinavian Christmas collection, our stitched oval dies, ribbon, and enamel hearts.

Using my template, I cut the card base from CutCardStock 80# Basis White 12×12 cardstock and trimmed slivers off each of the cut lines to ensure that the sections fold completely flat. I embellished each of the sections with papers from our 12×12 and 6×9 Rose and Jade Collection Packs. There are four decorated pull-outs in the pockets, leaving lots of room for photos and journaling. One of the pockets has a punched thumb notch and one of the outside sections has a die cut stitched oval.

I also added stamped images from our Scandinavian Christmas Santa and Friends stamp set, colored with alcohol markers, and cut with the coordinating outline dies. I embellished the belly band with a tag from the Rose ephemera, a stamped image, and stamped and fussy cut sentiments.

Here are close-ups of each section. This was definitely a fun one!

Scrappy hugs,

Postage Collage Hello

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a nice start to your week! I have a fun friendship card to share that I’m entering into the Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress contest hosted by Creative Scrapbooker Magazine! I recently won a gift certificate from Waffle Flower and purchased their Postage Collage bundle which consisted of stamps, two sets of stencils and dies. So I gathered 11 distress inks and used most of those products to create this card. To say I had fun is an understatement, lol!

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and then die cut the postage collage using the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Dies. I gathered Ranger speckled egg, salvaged patina, shabby shutters, peeled paint, shaded lilac, villainous potion, cracking campfire, barn door, antique linen, fired brick, and fossilized amber distress inks, several blending brushes, the TE Stick & Stamp Mat, and the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Everyday Stencils, and stenciled the postage collage background. I used the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Stamps to stamp the postage details in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

It’s been a minute since I’ve done any stenciling and I really enjoyed it! I stamped the ‘hello’ sentiment in black ink using the Taylored Expressions Squeeze The Day stamps and then cut it with the coordinating die. I layered the panels on CutCardStock Wild Salmon and Lessebo Cherry Red cardstock panels. The finishing touch was adding several Pajama Crafter Stamps Night Out pearls.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock, added a TE Simple Strips In Reverse- Everyday Occasions sentiment, and layered the panel on the Wild Salmon and Cherry Red cardstock. I stenciled the two tiny hearts on a scrap piece of Solar White, fussy cut them, and added them to the ends of the sentiment.

Back To School backpack mini album

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with our new Love to Learn Collection that was just released two days ago! I paired papers and die cut pieces in this collection with our KIS Cuts Backpack Mini Album along with a variety of stitched dies and paper packs in the Back To Basics line. Needless to say, I had a good time putting this together!

Using the KIS Cuts Backpack Mini Album dies, I die cut all the pieces for the base album from American Crafts Denim cardstock. I covered the pages with an assortment of patterned papers in the Love To Learn 6×9 Collection Pack. Each page is embellished with Love To Learn Die Cut Pieces, stitched die cut shapes, pull-ups, pull-outs, and/or papers with ephemera from the Back To Basics paper line. I used Royal ribbon for the straps, velcro circles for closures on the front flaps, and Glossy Accents to the tacks on the front flaps. I really enjoyed making this!

Paradise mini album

Howdy peeps! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! I have one more ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share created with the gorgeous July 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I’m so smitten with all the fun journaling cards and tags included with the papers in this month’s kit. I love to make mini albums and this one was created from five square kraft envelopes. The front features a beach scene from a journaling card to which I added some fun brads to complete the scene. Envelope mini album instructions are already available in the Freebies section of my blog HERE and these instructions can be used with any size envelopes.

I assembled the mini album from five CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft 5″ square envelopes and embellished each page with patterned paper from the kit. I also used stickers from the sticker sheet, tags and journaling cards from the paper pack, and clear stickers, chipboard pieces and ephemera from the upgrades. I included pull-outs and pull-ups, leaving plenty of room for photos and journaling. This was definitely a fun one!

Scrappy hugs,

beach Vibes

Hi friends! A big ol’ Happy Friday to you! I’m thrilled to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project with you today created with the awesome July 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I love all the coordinating beachy prints in this month’s collection and created a faux center step card featuring a journaling card included in the patterned papers. It’s totally amazing watching a simple card like this one come to life in just a few minutes! My inspiration for this fun fold came from Beccy Muir’s blog HERE when I visited a while back but I made some adjustments to the dimensions to make it an A2 size.

I cut the two pieces for the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the collection. I trimmed a journaling card for the front and fussy cut a sentiment and seashell from other journaling cards which I popped up on foam squares. The finishing touch on the front was the addition of a few gemstones and pearls.

I cut the inside panel from Solar White cardstock, embellished it with a leftover piece of patterned paper used on the front, and added a clear sticker from the upgrades. I adhered a panel of patterned paper to the back to give it a more finished look.

Scrappy hugs,

hello Summer fun fold

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday – we’re getting close to Friday so that means another week has bit the dust! I have another awesome ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the July 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I am totally loving all the summery and beachy feels this month’s kit has to offer. You know I love me some fun folds so I made a wiper card featuring papers and stickers along with a chipboard piece and clear sticker from the upgrades.

This is one of my all-time favorite fun folds and I actually have an SVG cut file for a wiper card which I’ve used a couple times but I prefer this hand-cut version. If you prefer videos, my original inspiration came from Julie Davison’s video HERE a few years back; otherwise I’m sharing written instructions in the Freebies section of my blog HERE.

I cut the two pieces for the card base from CutCardStock Amazon Dark Teal along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the collection. I added a chipboard piece from the upgrades for the sentiment along with stickers from the sticker sheet and a fussy-cut crab to embellish the front panel.

And here is where the magic happens (the reason I love this fun fold so much) – when the sides of the card are pulled outward, up pops a fussy-cut seahorse!

I cut the back panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with clear stickers from the upgrades.
