Let’s Take the Trip mini album

Hey everybody! I hope you’re doing well and having a wonderful weekend! I’ve stopped by this morning to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project created with the June 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I saved the best for last! Well, not really… this month’s kit was absolutely amazing and I totally love ALL the projects I created with it. But I’m especially fond of this mini album with cascading pocket pages. This is the second one of these I’ve made and this one was just as fun as the first! I used papers and stickers along with elements from all three of the upgrades. I have instructions HERE in the Freebies section of my blog if you’re interested in learning how to make this project.

I cut the album and box/lid base pieces from CutCardStock Lessebo Pitch Black cardstock along with all the layering panels from assorted prints in the collection. As with all 3D projects, the assembly is always the most fun! I used stickers from the sticker sheet along with die cut pieces, glitter foam stickers and dimensional stickers from the upgrades to embellish the album, all the pages and inserts, and the box. I used a Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Die to cut the focal element on the front of the box. It was so much fun watching this come to life!

Trip of a Life Time

Hi friends! Happy weekend to you! I have another awesome ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the super fun June 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. Even though I don’t care much about traveling anymore in my old age, I totally love creating travel-themed projects, and this accordion card was no exception. It was downright enjoyable from the creation of the card base and accordion element to all of the embellishing, and it’s an easy one! As with the other projects I’ve created so far with this month’s collection, I have instructions HERE in the Freebies section of my blog if you’re interested in learning how to make this card.

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Basis Dark Red cardstock along with the front layering panel and inside accordion layer from coordinating papers in the kit. I embellished the front with a tag from the paper pack and a sticker from the sticker sheet, added some ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and popped the tag up on foam strips. I added several elements from the upgrades which completed the front.

I used circle punches in my stash and alpha stickers from the sticker sheet to create the inside sentiment. I added a signature panel cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White that I embellished with an additional sticker from the sticker sheet.

Scrappy hugs,

Published again!

Hey everybody, I hope you’re having a great Friday! I’ve popped in today with a random post. I was going through some Facebook posts early this morning and saw one from mid-May about three of my cards being chosen for publication in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine‘s Summer 2024 edition. I realized I hadn’t shared this on my blog – I guess I just had too much going on. Their rules state that if a selected submission is viewable on any public gallery, it needs to be removed until after the issue is released, so I unpublished two of the three cards showcased on my blog and then republished them after the issue came out.

The first one was a pop-up block card on page 71, created with items in the Scrapbooking Store’s October 2023 Scrapbook Kit. My original blog post showcasing this design is HERE.

The second one was a swing flap card on page 72, created with items in the Keep It Simple Paper Crafts Wee Bit Wicked Collection. I no longer had the original card I submitted in my possession, so this card is a CASE’d version of that DT card (blog post is HERE).

And the third one was a triple cube card on page 74, created with a variety of KNC Essentials products. My original blog post showcasing this design is HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you again soon!

Scrappy hugs,

Let’s Go Explore the World

Hey everybody! How’s your weather where you are? Has it gotten hot yet? It hasn’t gotten too awfully hot here yet but the bugs are out in full force, lol! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the amazing June 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I’ve been in a fun fold frenzy lately (or should I say still?!) and created several fun folds with this month’s collection. This triple panel is a fun one (and a little different than other triple panels I’ve made) and features papers and stickers along with items from the upgrades. It’s amazing how quickly a card comes together when you have the right papers and coordinating elements! I have instructions for this project HERE in the Freebies section of my blog if you’re interested in learning how to make it.

I cut the card base and panels from CutCardStock Lessebo Granite Gray cardstock along with layering panels from an assortment of papers in the kit. I layered the focal image on Granite Gray cardstock also and popped it up on foam strips. I added a few dimensional stickers from the upgrades to embellish the front.

I added several stickers from the sticker sheet to embellish the middle section.

And finally, I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with stickers from the sticker sheet and a sentiment from the upgrades.

Eat-Sleep-Travel-Repeat

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous week! I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you created with the awesome June 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I am totally loving the papers, stickers and upgrades in this month’s travel-themed kit and have thoroughly enjoyed playing! I created a vertical split panel card using several coordinating papers and a journaling card along with a sticker from the sticker sheet and two dimensional stickers from the upgrades. I have instructions for this project HERE in the Freebies section of my blog if you’re interested in learning how to make it.

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Basis Dark Red cardstock along with layering panels from several coordinating papers in this month’s kit. I chose a large journaling card from the paper pack for the front sentiment and cut it with a Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Die. I used a couple dimensional silver arrows from the upgrades to embellish the front and added a disc magnet for a closure.

I cut the inside panels from more of the patterned papers and added a sticker from the sticker sheet for the sentiment. The kit did all the work on this super simple design!

Scrappy hugs,

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Howdy peeps, Happy Wednesday! I’ve popped in with another Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share created with the awesome Prickley Pear Stamps Have A Holly Jolly Christmas and Flourished Oval 3-Holidays stamp sets. This is another one from the large batch of projects I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. I only have a few more left to share but I have to say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed showing them all to you!

Standard A2 size side-folding card base and layering panel was cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Lessebo Moss Green cardstock. Using my Martha Stewart Score Board, I scored several horizontal lines at the top and bottom of the white layering panel prior to stamping the image.

I stamped the image from the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then again in Versamark, and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. This is an oldie but goodie trick I learned a hundred years ago to get virtually any color of embossing on a project by stamping with any color ink and then using clear embossing powder over it. This technique is especially cool when coloring with Karin markers because the colors are so vibrant. Oh, and it works with watercoloring, too, even though I don’t do that very often. ;)

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in black ink and cut it with a Keep It Simple Stitched Ovals Nested Die. The finishing touch was adding several black gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Solar White and scored several horizontal lines at the top of the panel before adding a narrow strip of the Lessebo Moss Green cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the Flourished Oval 3-Holidays stamp set and layered the panel on Moss Green cardstock.

Scrappy hugs,

I {heart} USA

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I have THE coolest Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today created with the NEW Stars & Stripes Collection that just launched a few days ago. OMGosh, I love anything Americana and this collection is amazing – we have papers, stamps, dies, die cut pieces, ribbon, and enamel stars! I created a fun gift set of a Chandler purse with 4 notelets and envelopes. I’ve made several of these purses (which make great gift bags, too, by the way) using THIS tutorial from Bearly Arts but I always put my own twist on it. I wanted to mention that the entire Stars & Stripes bundle is a whopping 20% off but unfortunately this is one of the few instances that our 10% code cannot be used.

I created the Chandler purse from CutCardStock Basis 80# White and cut layering panels from coordinating papers in the Stars & Stripes 12×12 Collection Pack. I embellished the purse with die cuts from the Stars & Stripes Die Cut Pieces and several Stars & Stripes Enamel Stars, as well as a couple old navy blue brads from my stash. I used a disc magnet as the closure which is hidden behind the floral die cut popped up on thick double-sided foam circles.

I cut four notelets from Basis White and rounded the corners. I embellished them with papers from the Stars & Stripes 6×9 Collection Pack, die cuts from the Stars & Stripes Die Cut Pieces, and Stars & Stripes Enamel Stars. I used my We R Memory Keepers Pocket Punch Board to create the envelopes from HP Premium 32 copy paper for the notelets. Oh, so fun!

And for good measure, here’s a shot of the back. I just love how this turned out!

Scrappy hugs,

Missing You

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! I’ve popped in with another Pajama Crafter Stamps project to share created with the beautiful Flourished Oval-Spring stamp set and Flourished Oval die, both from Prickley Pear Stamps. This is another one from the pile of projects I created prior to leaving the team at the end of February and hadn’t yet showcased. The color yellow is so cheerful and I thought it would be great for a ‘missing you’ card. I decided on a hidden slider message card since they are so fun. ;) In addition to the flourished oval stamps and dies, I used an assortment of papers and ephemera from Keep It Simple and the Slider Surprise Die-namics from My Favorite Things.

I die cut the card base and the hidden slider elements twice, once from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White and once from coordinating yellow papers in the Keep It Simple Lemon 12×12 Collection Pack, and then adhered them all together. I stamped the image from the Flourished Oval-Spring stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap piece of Solar White, colored it with markers, and cut it with the coordinating Flourished Oval die. I stamped the hidden message (from the same stamp set) and added some ephemera flowers from the Lemon collection pack on the bottom layer prior to assembling the card. I tied some yellow gingham ribbon from the Keep It Simple Lemon Ribbon pack with a piece of Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine to the pull-out mechanism. The finishing touch was adding some Keep It Simple Lemon Enamel Dots.

Scrappy hugs,

Fly, Dragonfly

Hi friends! Happy Saturday – I hope your weather is as wonderful as ours is out here in southwestern Colorado! OMGoodness, just gorgeous! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #83. Our challenges are always ‘anything goes’ so come on over and play. I’m sharing another one of my little inchie albums (mini books) that are so fun to make, and this one features Gecko Galz Dragonfly Inchies!

I printed the Gecko Galz Dragonfly Dreams Jewel It 2 digital sheet on CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock and punched the eight images I wanted to use with an EK Success 1″ square punch. I crafted the album base from CutCardStock Basis 80# White 12×12 cardstock and covered it with an iridescent paper from the JeJe Sparkling Sheets pack from Paper Wishes. I added an Eyelet Outlet Dragonfly Brad before adhering the cover. The book title was printed from my laptop on Basis White cardstock, trimmed it, and colored the two pieces with a Tombow marker. I edged the sentiment pieces and added some dots using a Kirarina Wink Violet marker.

Scrappy hugs,

Lady Portia’s Dress

Hey everybody! It’s turning out to be a busy morning on my blog but I just had to share a special event going on in the Facebook Keep It Simple Inspiration Group! If you’re not already a member, pop over and join – there’s always something fun going on! Our lovely DT leader, Maureen, is an avid Bridgerton fan and came up with the idea of our design team recreating some of the debutante dresses for the Season 3 countdown and a “Who Wore It Better” event! How fun is that?! And there’s a challenge for our KIS fans to create a Bridgerton inspired project to get in on the chance to win the Keep It Simple Party Dress die set! The challenge ends on June 30th so get crackin’ if you want to play along!

I had never heard of this show but the idea sounded like loads of fun, so I chose to recreate Lady Portia’s dress. I hand-cut her dress instead of using the Party Dress die set because it was more of a fitted style. I used our Ruby, Jade, Rose and Mango Collection Packs for the papers, along with our Simply Spring Outline Dies for the flowers with Lemon Enamel Dots for the flower centers. This was fun, and although not an exact replica, it’s pretty darn close! ;)
