Love You

Hi everyone! Well, the wind is still whippin’ out there but the gray sky has turned into a beautiful blue, so it has definitely turned out to be a gorgeous day here in Colorado! I’ve popped in for the last time today (I’m sure you’re tired of me by now, lol!) to share a card I created for The Outlawz Progressive/Freebie Challenge! Our sponsor this month is Hettie Clare Art and we were provided the super cute Pony Plait digital image to play with. I created a card featuring this adorable image paired with burlap and corrugated kraft cardstock for a little texture and interest.

I used Gamsol and colored pencils to color this image and then cut it with a stitched rectangle die. I stamped the sentiment directly on the image die cut and layered it onto a strip of corrugated kraft cardstock layered onto a rectangle cut from burlap which I adhered to the card front.

I embellished the inside panel with a couple strips of Twine cardstock, stamped the sentiment, and then layered the panel onto more of the Twine cardstock.

And one more look… I just love how this turned out! What a sweet image!

Believe

7/1/20 Top 5 at QKR Stampede!

Hi everyone! I’m baaack! Yep, you guessed it… with another card created for The Outlawz Challenges, lol! I’ve had such a good time cranking them out over the past couple days! This one is for the Tuesday Color Challenge where our sponsor this month is SheepSki Designs so be sure to come over and play! The colors for this challenge are black and white plus one color of choice – with a twist of stripes!

I used black and white striped cardstock for my background which I layered on black cardstock. I colored the SheepSki Designs Wild Roses digital image in shades of green. Green is my all-time favorite color and I thought it looked fabulous on the black and white!

I used a coloring technique that I haven’t used in years – Gamsol with colored pencils. I thoroughly enjoyed this and had forgotten how much fun it was… so much so that I used it on another project the same day, lol! I used a digital sentiment which I layered on several pieces of cardstock, trimmed and placed in the bottom right corner. I completed the front with some randomly placed white flat-back pearls.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of the black and white striped cardstock, added a digital sentiment, and layered the panel on the black cardstock.

And one more look… totally loving this color combo!

thanks

Hello again, peeps! Sending lots of smiles your way! I’m back with another card I created for The Outlawz Challenges – this one is for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge and we were given this beautifully simple sketch to follow!

Leigh SB Designs is our sponsor this month so come on over and play! I created a pretty thank you card – I always say one can never have too many of these on hand! This one was a lot of fun! Sketches, in general, are a lot of fun because they take most of the guess-work out of designing, and we can all use that occasionally!

I pulled out one of my favorite cardstock stacks to use for the layers on this card. Every print in the stack coordinates so you always have a beautiful card when using this cardstock! I cut an ivory card base, layered all the printed pieces on ivory cardstock, and created a stacked die cut sentiment from ivory cardstock to pull it all together. I finished off the front with some bling I’ve had in my stash forever that’s never seen the light of day!

I cut the inside panel to match the front, stamped the sentiment, and layered it on some of the red print used on the front.

And one more peek… I’m absolutely loving how this turned out! Such an amazing sketch!

Thinking of You

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday – hope you’re doing something fun! We are having some super windy weather with a few raindrops here and there, so I’m busy taking project photos and writing blog posts! I’m sharing a clean and simple card I created for The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge where the theme is flowers with dry or heat embossed background. Jan’s Digi Stamps is our sponsor this month so come on over and play! I created an encouragement card in warm tones with some pretty paper flowers and an embossed sentiment across the bottom.

The Core’dinations cardstock already had a cool embossed linen look so I thought an embossed sentiment across the bottom of the CAS design would be perfect. I’ve had a set of sentiment embossing folders in my stash for several years and have never used them, so in my quest to use ‘new unused stuff’ from my stash, I thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to use one of them!

I dug through my stash of paper flowers and found three that complimented the paper beautifully. I put down a strip of red glitter Washi Tape and then another strip of skinny red dotted Washi Tape on top, and then added the flowers. I finished the front with some randomly placed sprinkles and glittered gumdrops.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of the cardstock and Washi Tape used on the front, and layered it on the same cardstock.

One more peek… absolutely loving how this turned out! I believe this would be just the ticket to let a friend know you’re thinking about her!

Inspirational Coins (set of 3)

Hello, my friends! Hope you’re having a good week! This month’s ATC Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! The theme for our June ATC Challenge is Monochrome and we’d love to see what you create for our challenge this month! This is my last post for the Happy Little Stampers ATC team and I’d like to thank Kylie and the rest of the team for having me along for the last year and a half! I’ve had loads of fun creating so many ATCs which has definitely jump-started my addiction, lol!

june 2020 atc

I created a set of three inspirational coins this month. We all need a little inspiration seeing with what’s going on in the world right now. Hopefully it won’t be long until we can all be back out there with our family and friends doing the things we love. I was a top pick in one of Lozzy’s challenges a while back and won some of her digital papers. I used one of the prints from her Mono collection for this project.

2019_1210004a

I used the awesome Hero Arts To Seize or Not To Seize stamp set along with Hero Arts white embossing powder to create the sentiment strips for each of the coins. To finish them off, I affixed one medium and two small black gemstones to each one.

And one more look… I sure am happy with how these turned out! Nothing like a little inspiration to have a great day! ;)

Proverbs word art scripture for Word Art Wednesday

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great week! I’m thrilled to share that I’m guest designing over at Word Art Wednesday this month and I’m happy to share my GD inspiration project for Anything Goes #442-#443! Our sponsor for the next two weeks is Newton’s Nook so come over and play for a chance to win a $20 prize! I created a pretty hybrid card in warm tones with lots of layers using our word art scripture and a sponsor digital image.

2020_0511009

Our word art scripture for the next two weeks is Proverbs 14:26 which I printed on the computer and die cut with a stitched square die, then layered on a stitched mini scallop die that was layered on black cardstock. I embellished the scripture with the free sunflower digital image on the Newton’s Nook blog. I printed the sunflower image four times, fussy cut each one and adhered them on top of each other for a little dimension. I colored the top image with my Nuvo alcohol markers and ran a black marker around the edge to give it a finished look. I finished the card front with several smoke gemstones.

2020_0511010

I embellished the inside panel with leftover paper and cardstock used on the front, and stamped a spiritual sentiment in black ink.

2020_0511011

One more peek… so happy with how this turned out! Awesome scripture, color combo and design!

hey Buddy

Hi everyone! Top of the morning to you – I hope you have a fantastic week coming up! It’s time for a new challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #134 – For The Boys! I dug into my stash of digis and came up with this adorable digi set from The Paper Shelter for my boy card. Isn’t this guy just the cutest?!

2019_1222001a

I printed the pre-colored boy on the background paper and then printed him two more times on cardstock. I fussy cut both cardstock images and adhered them together, then ran a Memento Rich Cocoa marker around the edges of them for a more finished look. I layered them on top of the boy on the background paper which gave him some awesome dimension, and then layered the panel on light blue cardstock. I stamped and heat embossed the Paper Smooches sentiment and cut it with a stitched circle die.

2019_1222002a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the cardstock used on the front, and cut the Stamp On It sentiment with a double-stitched rectangle die.

2019_1222003a

One more look… super happy with how this turned out! LOVE the digi sets from The Paper Shelter! And it doesn’t hurt to have some awesome sentiments stashed away to use with them! ;)

For Someone Special

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! This month’s challenge is live over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #38 – Anything Goes + Acrylic Block Stamping! Our challenges are always ‘anything goes’ and we offer an optional technique twist each month just to inspire you! Our twist this month is stamping with an acrylic block! Yes you can, and it’s easy and fun! I created a ‘celebrate’ card that can be used for lots of different occasions, and features a gorgeous Gibson Girl image.

DSCF5811

I inked up an acrylic block with walnut stain distress ink, spritzed it with a little water, and ‘stamped’ it on 4×6 photo paper to create the background. When it was dry, I stamped the Gibson Girl in Jet Black StazOn ink. When that was completely dry (it took a little longer), I trimmed the image and adhered it to a tan panel which I adhered to a black card base. I created some photo corners with a 1/4″ circle punch and two small squares of cardstock cut diagonally. I stamped the sentiment and cut it with a flag die, which I layered on two more flag die cuts for dimension. I added a row of tiny black gemstones to finish the front.

DSCF5812

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of tan cardstock and layered the panel on the same tan cardstock, then stamped the sentiment in black ink.

DSCF5813

One more look… these Gibson Girl stamps are so beautiful! I really love the vintage feel of this card!

It’s the most Wonderful time of the year

Hello, my crafty friends! OMGoodness, can you believe the year is almost half over?! Our new challenge at Love To Craft Challenge Blog is live this morning and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #47 – June Anything Goes! I created a Christmas card, but this isn’t your ordinary Christmas card. It’s a Pop-up Presents card! You know how I love fun folds and I was absolutely thrilled when I ran across the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers!

2019_1218007a

When using someone else’s tutorial, I always put my own spin on it to make it mine. I layered the front panel on gold glitter paper, and added dimensional presents on the front panel matching two of the presents on the inside. I used die cut gold foil snowflakes embellished with Dot Sparklers on the presents to keep the card a little flatter.

2019_1218008a

I love the inside – those presents are so awesome and look so real, lol! I layered the stamped sentiment and used a few more of the die cut gold foil snowflakes.

And one more peek… I’m SO loving this!

Joy-Love-Noel-Peace

Hello, my crafty friends! Happy Monday to you! It’s time for a new challenge over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #23 – Anything Christmas Goes! I created a pretty card with a pop-up gift bag inside to hold cash or a gift card! OMGosh, I’m so smitten!

2019_1213005a

I created the card base and then selected two coordinating patterned papers. I stamped the sentiment in green ink, cut it out and layered it on three stacked die cuts. I fashioned a bow from six strands of gold metallic thread and attached tiny red jingle bells to the ends hanging down.

2019_1213006a

Here’s a shot of the card opened up showing the gift bag. How stinkin’ cute is this?!

2019_1213007a

I stamped the inside sentiment in green ink, cut it with a fancy die and layered it on a slightly larger green die cut.

2019_1213008a

And here’s one more look… so happy with this! It’s been several years since I created one of these, and my instructions are handwritten, so I don’t know who should get the credit. But I sure do love it!
