11/30/24 Weekly Favorite (favorited by two fellow crafters) at Splitcoast Stampers!

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! I’m stoked to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today, created with our new KIS Cuts Pumpkin dies. This is THE most fun set of dies – I created a shaped card with a shaker in the middle portion, and I think it turned out so cute! Shaped cards are always a hit and the shaker portion just adds to the Fun Factor!

Using the KIS Cuts Pumpkin dies, I cut the pumpkin layers and leaves from coordinating prints in the Farmhouse Fall 6×9 Collection and Cardstock Packs, along with the card base, vine and stem from CutCardStock Lessebo Coffee Bean cardstock. I created a shaker in the center portion of the pumpkin using Polymer Clay Coffee Sprinkles, Polymer Clay Light Brown Pumpkins, 2mm Matte Orange Beads, and 2mm Caviar Glass Fall Change beads (all from the Sprinkles line). The Fall Change Caviar Glass beads haven’t hit the store yet, so stay tuned for those. I added a sentiment (from the Back To Basics Thank You Sentiments stamp set) stamped in Catherine Pooler Hot Tube ink which I fussy cut. The finishing touch on the front was adding a gold cord bow.

Using the same dies, I cut the inside panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a scrap piece of the plaid paper used on the front. I stamped another sentiment from the same Thank You Sentiments stamp set in the Hot Tub ink, fussy cut it and added it to the inside.

Acorn Lane cards (set of 8)

Hi friends, Happy Fri-YAY! Fridays used to be super fun when I still working, but since retiring several years ago, every day is like Friday, lol! And that’s certainly not a bad thing! I’m thrilled to share my last ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project with you today created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I’d like to thank this amazing company for having me along for the last several years. A lot of care goes into curating these kits each month and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself. One of the upgrades in this month’s kit is the Acorn Lane Card Kit by Simple Stories, so I made the set of eight Fall-themed cards, changing up a few random things to make them unique.

The absolute most fun thing about these Simple Stories card kits is that the card bases, papers, die cuts and chipboard are all included… all you need is adhesive. A card kit like this would be such a fun gift to give to the budding cardmaker in your life! Incredibly Grateful

Howdy peeps! Here’s to a terrific Thursday – I hope it’s not too cold yet where you are. I have a fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I came across a multi panel pop out card HERE on Lisa Curcio’s blog which I’ve never seen before, so of course I HAD to try it… and I’m so glad I did – it’s a fun one! It’s 5×7 which is larger than I typically make, so I reworked the measurements and came up with an A2 size for another design team that I’ll share soon, so stay tuned. ;) But for now, this is the 5×7 version made according to Lisa’s video.

I cut the card base, belly band and all the pop out elements from CutCardStock Lessebo Coffee Bean cardstock, along with layering panels from CutCardStock Basis Natural and coordinating prints in the collection. The focal image on the front is a trimmed and layered journaling card from the paper pack attached to the belly band. I embellished the front (beneath the belly band) and two of the inside panels with stickers from the sticker sheet in the paper pack.

I cut the back panel from Basis Natural and embellished it with a leftover plaid print used on the inside of the card. I added a sticker for the sentiment, which completed the card.

Blessed and Grateful

Hey everybody, Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m delighted to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I made a shutter card using the Lawn Fawn Shutter Card dies. I’ve made several shutter cards over the years by handcutting the pieces (before owning the dies) and the dies are so much easier. The handwritten notes in my tutorial folder are not shareable (LOL) but I did run across a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial HERE if you’re interested in looking, which is pretty darn close to my handwritten instructions.

Using the Lawn Fawn Shutter Card dies, I cut the card base and other pieces from Solar White cardstock, along with the belly band and layering panels from coordinating prints in the collection. I created a belly band element using the circle die cut from the inside panel and a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles die. I embellished it and the card front and inside with stickers from the sticker sheet in the paper pack and the sheet of leaf stickers in the upgrades. I used the set of stamps in the upgrades to stamp a sentiment in Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake ink on the belly band element. The finishing touch was adding several iridescent gemstones for a little bling.

I cut the back panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of plaid paper used on the front flaps, along with some stickers from the sticker sheet and the upgrades. I stamped another sentiment from the stamp set in the upgrades in brown ink.

11/23/24 Weekly Favorite at Splitcoast Stampers!

Hi friends, I hope your week is off to a nice start! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today featuring our new KIS Shaker Frames A2 Frames #5 along with papers, stamps and dies from our new Nuts About Fall Collection. This pretty Fall-themed card has the look of a sunken frame and is super easy. I love that the central die in this particular shaker frame die set can be used like the popular postage grid dies, which is how I used it here. ;)

The card base, a postage frame and a postage grid were cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. One additional postage frame was cut from a plaid pattern in the Nuts About Fall 6×9 Collection Pack and layered on top of the white cardstock frame. I cut the inner frame from a dark pattern in the Collection Pack and adhered it to card base, and then adhered the outer postage frame and central postage grid which I popped up on 2mm adhesive foam strips from our Shaker Basics Foam & Acetate Pack, giving the appearance of a sunken frame.

I stamped multiple images from the Nuts About Fall Collection Stamps in Catherine Pooler Over Coffee ink, colored them with alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating Outline Dies. I also stamped a sentiment (from the same stamp set) in the brown ink and cut it with the coordinating die. I arranged the images and sentiment in the grid spaces, popping some up on thin 1mm adhesive foam squares. The finishing touch was adding several Royal Enamel Dots.

I cut the inside panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a frame cut from the plaid paper used on the front and a sentiment cut from the bonus cut-apart sheet in the Collection Pack. I layered the panel on the dark print (also used on the front), which completed the card.

Farm Fresh Pumpkins

Hi friends! I have a fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. It’s been a minute since I created a sidewalk cafe sign card and I thought the papers and stickers in this month’s kit were perfect for this card! Despite it’s complex look, this card is really pretty simple, and it folds flat for mailing.

I cut the card base and box from CutCardStock Lessebo Brick Orange cardstock. The card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. The box is 1-1/4″ x 6-1/2″, scored at 1/2″, 1-1/4″, 5-1/4″ and 6″. The strip for the inside of the box is 1-1/8″ x 4-3/4″, scored at 3/8″ and 4-3/8″. The decorative strip for the box front is 1-1/8″ x 3-7/8″, cut from patterned paper.

To make the ‘legs’ for the cafe sign, close the card base and measure 1″ inward from the left edge. Cut upward 1-1/2″, across for a length of 2-1/4″, and then back down 1-1/2″. Remove the pieces and discard. Note: You can cut each half of the card base separately if you don’t want to cut through two layers of cardstock.

The background pieces for the front and back are both 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″, cut from patterned paper. Measure 7/8″ inward from the left edge and cut upward 1-1/2″. Cut across for a length of 2-3/8″ and then back down 1-1/2″. Do this for both pieces.

I trimmed a journaling card in the paper pack to use as the focal image. I chose several floral cluster stickers, adhered them to Solar White cardstock scraps, and trimmed around the stickers. I adhered one piece to the strip inside the box and the other piece directly on the background at the bottom of the focal image, both on black foam strips. The finishing touch was adding some pumpkin stickers to the outside of the box.

The inside panel is 3-3/4″ x 4″, cut from Solar White cardstock and embellished with strips of paper in the collection. I added a sentiment sticker along with floral and pumpkin stickers, which completed the card.

Furever In Our Hearts

Hey everybody, Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a sweet pet sympathy card. Sympathy cards for humans or pets are typically difficult for me but this one came together fairly easily, probably because of my favorite Lessebo cardstock and the awesome Waffle Flower Gradient Heart Panel Dies I used. Our Lessebo cardstock is on sale this month, so be sure to stock up! I used Cherry Red, Brick Orange, Sunflower Yellow, Hunter Green and Navy Blue, all from the Lessebo line.

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I then used the Waffle Flower Gradient Heart Panel Dies to cut all the heart-shaped pieces for the focal panel from the Lessebo cardstock in rainbow colors. I used a Paper Smooches Cat Icons paw die to cut the shape from the center of the heart and backed it with blue cardstock. I assembled the panel, added foam strips to the back and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the sentiments from the Kat Scrappiness Rainbow Bridge stamp set in Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist ink. I added a few iridescent gemstones which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with varying sizes of strips cut from leftover pieces of the Lessebo cardstock used on the front. I stamped another sentiment and the angel pup image from the same stamp set in the Juniper Mist ink and added the halo stamped in Catherine Pooler Shea Butter ink.

Happy Fall

Hey everybody! It’s Friday and I hope you’ve had a great week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #88. Our challenges are always of the ‘anything goes’ variety, so come on over and play! Fall is my favorite season and I had a good time making a pretty fall wreath for the front of this card. I used papers from the Keep It Simple Farmhouse Fall collection along with their Falling Leaves Dies, and I really love how it turned out.

I cut a square card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels and strips from patterned papers in the Keep It Simple Farmhouse Fall Collection Pack. The sentiment is from the Farmhouse Fall Ephemera Die Cuts and a few Keep It Simple Hello Adventure Enamel Dots finished off the front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of the wood plank patterned paper used on the front and a couple more pieces from the Farmhouse Fall Ephemera Die Cuts.

Your kindness makes a difference

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going along nicely. I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for creating a side accordion panel card. It’s only fitting that I’m featuring one of my all-time favorite fun folds as my debut project for this new design team! I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity – it’s definitely a dream come true! I used the absolutely gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio Kindness in Bloom stamps, stencils and dies, and love how this card turned out. What a stunning suite of products, and I know you’re going to love them, too!

I started by stamping all the images in the Pinkfresh Studio Kindness in Bloom stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Solar White cardstock. I used Ranger speckled egg and antique linen distress inks along with Ranger vintage photo distress spritz with the Kindness in Bloom stencils to give the images some color. I cut them with the coordinating Kindness in Bloom dies and set them aside.

I cut the card base and folded panel from CutCardStock Basis Aqua cardstock along with layering panels from Neenah Classic Linen Gold Pearl cardstock and Doodlebug Design Buffalo Check-Wood Grain and Swiss Dot Rainbow Petite Prints 6×6 double-sided papers.

I adhered the layers together and assembled the card.

Next, I added the stamped images and front and inside sentiments. The finishing touch was adding a few white pearls to the card front.

O Holy Night

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a great week so far. I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today, created with our new KIS Cuts Tags #1. This fun accordion tag mini album also features papers and die cut pieces from our new O Holy Night Collection which I totally love and I think is my absolute favorite Christmas collection. And you know how I love me some mini albums, so this was a win-win for me!

Using the KIS Cuts Tags #1 dies, I cut eight tags from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock along with three rectangles that I used to connect the tags. I then cut layering panels (from the same die set) from an assortment of papers in the O Holy Night Collection Pack. I adhered four tags to the three rectangle connectors and then adhered the additional four tags on top, sandwiching the connectors between the tag layers. Next, I adhered the patterned paper layers to both sides of each tag and embellished them with an assortment of Die Cut Pieces. The final step was adding Royal, Jade and Stars & Stripes ribbon to the top of each tag, tying it with Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine.

Here’s an overhead shot so you can see the super simple construction. I just love how this turned out!
