Winter Wonderland Mini Album

Hey everybody! I hope your week is ending nicely! Every day we’re getting THAT much closer to Christmas and I have an amazing ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you created with the awesome December 2023 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! You know how I love me some mini albums AND I’m in full-on Christmas mode, so you know what that means! I totally love everything in this month’s kit and used journaling cards, papers and stickers along with ephemera and stickers from the upgrades.

The album consists of trimmed 3×4 journaling cards and coordinating patterned paper panels adhered to both sides of white cardstock panels. The front and back sides of each page were embellished with stickers from the sticker sheet in the kit, ephemera and stickers from the upgrades, and gemstones from my stash. Pull-ups, pull-outs and die cuts were added to most of the pages. The album was bound with two rings embellished with green ribbon.

There you have it! This was an easy one with plenty of room for photos and journaling those Christmas memories!

Scrappy hugs,

snow much fun

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! We’re inching closer and closer to Christmas, and the Keep It Simple design team is doing a Christmas Countdown December 1-12! This is Day 10 and it’s my day to share a project featuring papers, stamps, dies and die cut pieces from the amazing Snow Day Collection! I created this faux step card based on a photo I saw online and I don’t remember now who deserves the credit, but it’s just a half-size double easel with a tall panel. Super easy and looks really cute!

I cut the double easel card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and layering panels from coordinating papers in the Snow Day 6×9 Collection Pack. I created a couple snow banks from white cardstock and added images stamped from the Snow Globe Stamps and cut with the coordinating Snow Globe Outline Dies to create the scene on the tall panel. Clear enamel dots and sentiments from the Words and Phrases Die Cut Pieces were added to complete the card front.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the papers used on the front and stamped a sentiment from the Snow Day Collection Stamp.

‘Tis the Season

Hey everybody! Are you ready for the big jolly man in the red suit to visit in a couple weeks?! He’ll be here whether you’re ready or not, lol! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Ally’s Angels and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #77! This Christmas card is a super simple design with snowflakes die cut directly into the front panel with blue craft foam placed behind the apertures so it’s seen through the snowflakes and around the edges of the panel.

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base and layering panels from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock and blue craft foam. Using the Taylored Expressions snowflake die (freebie with an order), I die cut three snowflakes into the layering panel and stamped a sentiment from the Taylored Expressions Winter Wishes stamp set in Catherine Pooler Cove Blue ink in the bottom right corner. I fastened teal glittered brads from my stash to the center of each snowflake and adhered the blue craft foam behind the panel.

I cut the inside panel from Basis Natural, embellished it with a strip of Darice blue cardstock and a leftover strip of Basis Natural, and stamped another sentiment from the Taylored Expressions Winter Wishes stamp set in Catherine Pooler Cove Blue ink.

Happy Winter

Hey everybody! Happy Friday – I hope you’re having an awesome week and have something fun planned this weekend! I’m delighted to be back with an inspiration project for Prickley Pear Stamps. I know I have mentioned many times that this is my favorite time of year. I love all the Wintery Christmas sights, sounds and smells, and of course all the delightful crafting! Our design team has created some gorgeous Winter-themed projects for our Winter Celebrations Insta-Hop using a fun sketch. The hop starts on the Prickley Pear Stamps Instagram page today and we hope you’ll join us!

You’ll find the complete hop list and the sketch on the Prickley Pear Stamps page, and by following and leaving comments or likes at all the stops on the hop, you’ll be in the running for a $25 gift card from Prickley Pear Stamps! A random winner will be chosen from all comments and likes left by 11:59 PM EST on December 15th and announced on the Prickley Pear Stamps Instagram and Facebook pages on December 17th.

I created a front flap card featuring one of the ladies in the awesome Snow Ladies Trio stamp set, and I structured the flaps around the sketch. I totally love how it turned out! I do love this image!

The card base and flap were cut from CutCardStock Basis Natural and a stitched circle cut from Basis Dark Red cardstock. The layering panels were cut from coordinating prints in The Paper Shelter Mirabelle cardstock pad. I stamped the image from the Snow Ladies Trio stamp set on Basis Natural in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with alcohol markers and cut it with a Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Die. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in the upper right corner and added three gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Ruby Radiance Embellishment Mix with my Trinity Pick Up Stick.

Using the Keep It Simple Stitched Circles Nested Dies, I cut one more circle from Basis Natural and adhered it beneath the flap for a handwritten message and signature.

You should totally use Prickley Pear Stamps products and our hop sketch, and post your Winter Celebrations project on your Instagram page! Tag us using the hashtag #ppswintercelebrations and you may be asked to join us as a Guest Designer in one of our future hops! Here’s the sketch we used:

Scrappy hugs,

Love & Thanks

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a trifold window card featuring several of our new Lessebo cardstock colors. The Lessebo line replaces the Basis cardstock that is no longer carried but was one of my favorites. I’m happy to report that it’s just as awesome as the Basis was!

I cut the card base from Lessebo Ivory and then used Hunter Green, Aubergine, Granite Gray, Arctic Blue, Navy Blue and Ivory to create a striped background for the card front. I cut an aperture into the panel with a Spellbinders Diamond & Arch Motif die and adhered a piece of acetate behind it. The large front sentiment is from the Keep It Simple Thank You Sentiments stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added several blue gemstones to finish the front.

I stamped the focal image (seen through the window) on the Ivory piece that was die cut from the flap using the larger Spellbinders Diamond & Arch Motif stamp and colored it with alcohol markers, then added another sentiment from the Keep It Simple Thank You Sentiments stamp set.

I cut the inside panel from Lessebo Aubergine cardstock and adhered it with the fold at the bottom. I then added an Ivory panel which I embellished with strips of Hunter Green, Artic Blue and Aubergine. I stamped an additional sentiment and small heart (from the same stamp set) directly on the panel in black ink.

Scrappy hugs,

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Hi friends! Happy Friday AND Happy December 1st! Can you believe it?! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with an inspiration project featuring the Flourished Oval 3 – Holidays stamp set along with the Flourished Oval Die and Flourished Oval Nesting Dies! This was a super easy and fun card to put together with the whimsical Christmas papers in the ‘A Perfect Christmas’ Collection Kit from Echo Park!

The card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and layered with a panel cut from the Echo Park ‘A Perfect Christmas’ Collection Kit which already had faux lace and off-kilter horizontal flags across the bottom that I thought looked so cute with the stamped snowmen! I used the Flourished Oval 3 – Holidays stamp set along with the Flourished Oval Die and Flourished Oval Nesting Dies to create the focal image. I also used a journaling card from the collection to layer the focal image. The finishing touches were an off-kilter vertical flag cut from a leftover strip and some iridescent gemstones.

Christmas Gift Tags in Non-Traditional Colors

Hey everybody! We’re on the downslide into December and I hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving! This month has flown by and Christmas is on our heels! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with a super fun set of Christmas gift tags in non-traditional colors! I used the Christmas Holiday Gift Tags stamp set and Gift Tags dies along with the Nesting Tags dies. I pulled out a variety of Karin markers and alcohol markers to color these beauties and I love how they turned out! You know me… I’m always down for using non-traditional colors for my Christmas projects!

I stamped all five images from the Christmas Holiday Gift Tags stamp set in Memento London Fog ink and then again in Versamark, and heat embossed them with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. I used a variety of bold colored markers to color the images, cut them with the coordinating Gift Tags dies and added tiny red gemstones to several of them.

I used the Nesting Tag dies and cut a tag from CutCardStock Pop Tone Grape Jelly, Pop Tone Razzleberry, Pop Tone Tangy Orange, Pop Tone Limeade and Basis Gray cardstock (backed each one with a tag cut from Solar White cardstock), stamped ‘To and From’ on the back of each one in London Fog ink, and adhered the images. I punched a 1/4″ hole at the top of each tag, threaded a coordinating color ribbon (from Really Reasonable Ribbon) through the hole at the top, and tied it (along with a piece of knotted silver string, also from Really Reasonable Ribbon) with Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine.

Scrappy hugs,

Hey everybody! I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend and it’s not too cold where you are! It has snowed here a couple times and it’s pretty chilly… just how we like it! I’ve popped in this morning to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with items in the NEW Pure Imagination Collection which is the biggest release of the year! Hopefully you’re following Keep It Simple on social media because there have been some pretty cool Black Friday Weekend promotions advertised – starting with a scavenger hunt on the website and a Cricut Maker giveaway! Dayummm! I created a super cute 4″ square diorama card featuring papers, stamps and dies from this awesome new collection!

The card base was cut from Solar White cardstock and embellished with coordinating papers from the 12×12 Collection Pack. The sentiments and images were stamped from the Golden Ticket and Let’s Play Collection Stamps, colored with alcohol markers, and cut with the coordinating Golden Ticket and Let’s Play Outline Dies. Some of them were popped up on foam strips. Several enamel hearts were used to complete the card front. I used the Stitched Circles Nested Dies to cut the circular aperture with frame on the inside. There’s nothing cuter than opening this card and seeing that adorable little fella with the golden ticket!

The back panel is also embellished with coordinating prints and a stamped and die cut sentiment. This is another fun fold that folds flat for mailing. I love that!

Hey everybody! Today is the day for Giving Thanks and I hope you all have a wonderful day with family and/or friends, and get stuffed to the gills with yummy food, lol! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with an inspiration project featuring the Snowflake Pendant die and Snowflake Inserts stamp set! OMGosh, these are some ah-maazing products which I quickly fell in love with! And this rotating center circle fun fold was a blast to make and it didn’t take me long to make a couple more which you’ll see showcased soon, so stayed tuned! My inspiration came from a new YouTube channel sub (Purple_Girl_Crafts) who obviously loves fun folds as much as I do, and her video for this one is HERE if you’re interested. It looks complicated but it isn’t really, and it sure packs a punch!

The square card base was cut from CutCardStock Basis Teal and I used Hot Off The Press Snowfall 6×6 double-sided papers for the layering panels. I layered two snowflake die cuts together (cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Neptune and Lagoon cardstock using the Snowflake Pendant die) and stamped the sentiment from the Snowflake Inserts stamp set on CutCardStock Pop Tone Sno Cone in Catherine Pooler Daydream ink. I used some 7gypsies ephemera alpha stickers for the ‘Deck the Halls’ sentiment on the frame along with quite a few embellishments and sequins from Buttons Galore & More added with my Trinity Pick Up Stick to give it lots of bling. ;)

Here’s a few-second video showing what it looks like opening and closing. How freaking cool is that?! I L-O-V-E it!

Scrappy hugs,

Congratulations mini slimline

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday – I hope you’re having a fabulous week so far! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a tiled Congratulations mini slimline. I used several colors of our Pop Tone cardstock along with Silver Foil and Solar White cardstock. I’ve had the Spellbinders Color Block Mini Inverted Squares dies in my stash for a minute and decided it was time to use them!

My mini slimline size is 3-1/2″ x 6″ and the card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White. I used the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Fancy Scalloped Dies along with the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers for the layering panels.

The tiles were created with the Spellbinders Color Block Mini Inverted Squares dies, cut from Pop Tone Spearmint, Gumdrop Green, Jellybean Green, Cotton Candy and Razzleberry along with Bright Silver Foil. The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamps, stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink, and cut with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentiment Silhouettes dies. The embellishments are from Kat Scrappiness Silver Pearl Mix.

The inside is pretty similar to the front with another sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamps.
