‘Read More’ note cards in a box

Hey everybody! Happy Monday! Sure seems like this weekend went by in a big POOF! I’ve popped in this morning to share a Syncopation Design inspiration project created with papers and elements in the new Let’s Get Lit bundle! Just in case you aren’t familiar with the terminology, it has to do with literacy – not getting intoxicated, lol! I know several people who are bookworms and thought this kit was perfect to create a set of 3-1/2″ x 5″ note cards in a box! Such a fun project!

I printed the solid and patterned papers from the collection on HP 32# copy paper and the elements on CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock. I created the card box and ten 3-1/2″ x 5″ card bases from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. The card box sports patterned paper panels and fussy-cut elements, as well as an Eyelet Outlet silver washi tape strip and Darice gemstones from my stash, and has a velcro closure. The simple card design is basically the same for all ten cards, featuring solid and patterned paper panels and fussy-cut captions/sentiments (popped up on foam strips) along with a silver washi tape strip and gemstone.

6/2/23 Top 3 at Crafty Calendar Challenge!

Howdy peeps! I hope you’re having a great weekend! I’m stoked to be back with another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with the new Party Dress Dies that were just released last month! OMGoodness, talk about FUN! Yes, these are amazing and can be used for so many different occasions! I created a super cute congrats card for this showcase! I used coordinating papers from the Royal 12×12 Collection Pack and stamps from the Congratulations and Get Well sentiment stamp sets!

Using the Party Dress dies, I cut the card base and layers from two coordinating papers in the Royal 12×12 Collection Pack. I assembled the card and added a small strip of Eyelet Outlet purple Pearls & Jewels Fancy Long Bling at the waistline. I stamped a sentiment from the Congratulations sentiment stamp set in Memento Paris Dusk ink. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet white pearls around the bottom scallops.

I die cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and adhered a strip of one additional coordinating paper from the Royal 12×12 Collection Pack across the bottom. I stamped a sentiment from the Congratulations sentiment stamp set in Memento Paris Dusk ink along with a tiny heart from the Get Well sentiment stamp set in Catherine Pooler Flirty Fuchsia ink.

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday – I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring quite a variety of cardstock! I had a play with my Scan N Cut and created a fun wedding truck box card in mainly purple but with a pop of silver, red and green. I absolutely love box cards and I really enjoyed putting this one together!

Using my Scan N Cut, I cut the card base and box layers from Curious Metallic Violette, the windshield and mirrors from Dolphin Gray, the hearts from Pop Tone Grape Jelly and Red Wagon, the bumper from Bright Silver Foil, the wedding rings and diamond from Bright Silver Foil and Silk Glitter Opulent Opal, the flower and leaves from Red Wagon and Pop Tone Jellybean Green, the tail lights from Red Wagon, the tires from Pop Tone Black Licorice and the sentiment letters from Silk Glitter Opulent Opal cardstock. As I always say, the fun part is the assembly!

I added a sentiment to the back of the card which wasn’t part of the cut file. Using the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX, I die cut a rectangle from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Happy & Heartfelt stamp set in Catherine Poole Queen For A Day ink.

Here are two additional shots of the card – one angled and one folded flat for mailing.

Love You slimline

5/14/23 Sweet Pick at Cupcake Inspirations!

Hi friends! A very Happy Thursday to you! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with an inspiration project featuring the Love You stamps and dies that were just released in January! Wow, talk about a versatile set… this one is! It can be used for many different occasions – Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Anniversary! I created a ‘love you just because’ slimline because I love this kind of card!

I cut a 3-3/4″ x 9″ slimline card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a strip from 80# Solar White cardstock. I also cut a layering panel and slightly narrower strip from two pretty coordinating pink papers in the Keep It Simple Rose 12×12 Collectiond Pack. I stamped the large sentiment and heart in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on an additional coordinating pink paper (from the same Rose Collection Pack) using the Love You stamps and then cut them with the coordinating Love You dies. I added some shimmery silver detail on the edge of the heart with a Kirarina Wink silver metallic marker. Finally, I added a floral element created with the Pinkfresh Studio In The Meadow Washi Tape and Die along with several Eyelet Outlet pink pearls, which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

Merry Christmas mini slimline

Hi friends! Happy Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! It’s finally starting to warm up here… for a minute there we thought Mother Nature was really ticked off because we were getting snow while our family and friends in Florida were enjoying the beach! What’s wrong with that picture?! Our very first challenge is live this morning over at Christmas BINGO Challenges and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #1 – Anything Goes with Featured Christmas BINGO Card!

Here’s a short run-down of how this new challenge works: There will be a BINGO Card featured in each challenge and our designers and participants will need to use at least three items in any column under the B, I, N, G or O on a Christmas project. This is not your typical BINGO card where you go up/down, left/right and diagonally… you can only go up and down using the columns. There is a free space in each column that you are welcome to use if you want. You cannot mix and match columns – you can only use one letter. We really hope you’ll check it out and come play with us! I went with column G and made a mini slimline card with red, stitching and a doily.

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from CutCardStock Basis Natural along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Basis Red. Using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Scalloped Edge Dies, I die cut a panel from a pretty patterned paper from the Carta Bella Christmas Collection Kit. Then, using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Tri-Frame Dies, I die cut a frame from another Carta Bella paper. I used ‘merry Christmas’ sentiment stickers from the Carta Bella kit. I cut a small Stampin’ Up doily roughly in half and adhered the smaller piece to the bottom left corner and adhered a bow fashioned from a piece of hemp crafting cord. The final touch was adding some small dots of Glossy Accents to the berries on the patterned paper.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis Natural cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips of patterned paper and red cardstock used on the front. I stamped a sentiment from the Taylored Expressions In & Out Christmas stamp set in Catherine Pooler Black Jack ink.

Scrappy hugs,

Here’s to the next adventure

Hey everybody! Well, another Monday has rolled around… where the heck did the weekend go?! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Birthstone Challenges and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for BSC #3 – Anything Goes with Emerald & Pearl Colors! I was really looking forward to this one because green happens to be my all-time favorite color! I used the Stampin’ Up Hats Off stamp set and Hat Builder dies to create this masculine birthday card. I don’t keep many guy cards in my stash so this came in handy. ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock along with layering panels from Crafter’s Companion Just For Men Brights Collection 6×6 paper which I adhered together and added a strip of Eyelet Outlet green dotted skinny washi tape at the seam. Using the Stampin’ Up Hat Builder dies, I die cut the hat pieces from CutCardStock Basis Green cardstock and scraps of the Just For Men patterned papers. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Hats Off stamp set, which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Basis 80# Natural cardstock and embellished it with strips of the Just For Men patterned paper and Basis Green cardstock used on the front as well as a tiny hat die cut. I stamped the sentiment from the Keep It Simple Birthday Sentiments stamp set in Memento Morocco ink.

Scrappy hugs,

Holly Jolly Gift Box

Hi everybody! Happy Monday – I hope you had a great weekend! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #50 – Anything Christmas Goes! You know how I love making little gift bags and boxes, and always forget that I have this set of dies from Stampin’ Up that I’ve had for years. I ran across them while looking for something else (that’s always the way it happens!) and I believe this is only the second or possibly third time I’ve used them. The box is the perfect size for jewelry or treats.

I used the Stampin’ Up Baker’s Box Thinlits to die cut the bag pieces from a holly print in the Echo Park A Perfect Christmas double-sided paper pack. These are great papers to use because they are heavier than regular double-sided paper but not quite as heavy as cardstock. I stamped an oval die cut for the tag (using the Keep It Simple Santa & Friends stamp set) and embellished it with some Eyelet Outlet red bling. The final step was threading some Michael’s green and white dotted ribbon through the holes and tying a bow. Easy peasy!

And here’s a shot of the back. This was a super easy project that would be great to mass produce for placing around the holiday table or gifting treats to co-workers! Can also be used for birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc. by using different papers! ;)

Scrappy hugs,

happy place note card

Hey everybody! Happy Monday – I hope you had a great weekend! Our new challenge is live over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my project for LTSCB #161 – Anything Goes! I created a mini slimline note card featuring a tiny globe from the Sizzix Tiny Travel Globe Thinlits. I love all of them in this set! And who wouldn’t love being on this island?! I know I would… definitely my happy place!

I cut a mini slimline card base measuring 3-1/2″ x 6″ from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a background panel cut from CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock using a Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Postage Stamp Edge Die. I die cut all the tiny globe pieces from 80# Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and assembled and adhered the globe in the right lower corner of the card front. The die cut part of the sentiment was created with a Sizzix Script Celebration Words die (cut from Solar White cardstock), and the stamped part was created with a fussy-cut word from one of the sentiments in the Prickley Pear Stamps Frog Pals Spinach and Ramona stamp set. I finished the front with several Eyelet Outlet brown pearls.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock, adhered it to a postage stamp edge die cut like the one on the front, and embellished it with a leftover negative space strip. Since this is a note card, I left the inside blank to write a custom message.

5/15/23 Top 3 at Halloween Crafts All Year ‘Round!

Hey everybody! Well, are you enjoying any Spring weather where you are? It’s absolutely gorgeous here in southwestern Colorado! A new challenge has launched this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #65 – Anything Goes + optional Embossing! If you decide to play the technique twist, you can use either heat or dry embossing. I’ve had a couple Stamp Anniething Halloween stamp sets in my stash for a while and wanted to share a super cute card with a heat embossed image that I made with Diana! Is she not the cutest ever?!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from the Printable Cuttable Creatables Halloween Treats Digital Paper Pack which I adhered together. I adhered strips of CutCardStock Astrobrights Solar Yellow and 80# Solar White cardstock at the seam with a strip of Eyelet Outlet Halloween washi tape. I added three Eyelet Outlet 8mm black Cut Jewels just under the band.

I stamped Diana from the Best Witches stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Solar White cardstock, stamped the image a second time in Versamark (over top the black ink) and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. I colored her with alcohol markers and cut her with the coordinating die. I adhered an Impression Obsession Cats die cut from Pop Tone Black Licorice cardstock on her hat and popped her up on EK Tools 3-D Dots.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of Halloween patterned paper used on the front and a narrow strip of CutCardStock Curious Metallic Night cardstock. I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) in Tuxedo Black ink.

Another Mother’s Day Tulip

Hi friends! A very Happy Monday to you! A new challenge has launched this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #74 – Anything Goes! I make lots of Mother’s Day cards, and this one is very similar to another one I made some time ago using the Concord & 9th Painted Tulip stamp set, which I absolutely love. I actually made two of these which I sometimes do when making cards in batches. It’s such a simple but striking design!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base and layering panel from American Crafts White Cardstock. I also cut layering panels from Crafter’s Companion Verity Rose 6×6 paper and CutCardStock Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock. I stamped the tulip from the Concord & 9th Painted Tulip stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black, Angel Pink and Bamboo Leaves inks on the white layering panel. I heat embossed the front sentiment in Hero Arts white embossing powder on black cardstock and trimmed it.

I cut the inside panel from American Crafts White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the Verity Rose patterned paper and Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock used on the front. I stamped the sentiment from the Inspired By Stamping You Are stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink.
