Happy Birthday Cake Treat Box

Hi friends! Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had an awesome week and now it’s time for some fun this weekend, hopefully! I’m thrilled to share that I was a Top Cut recently over at Cut It Up Challenge Blog and was invited to guest in an upcoming challenge, so here I am just in time for Challenge #300 – Happy Birthday! A birthday cake treat box couldn’t be more appropriate to create to help them celebrate their birthday! I used an SVG cut file in my arsenal along with cardstock, pearls and lace from my stash. I dyed the white lace with antique linen distress ink and used the draw feature on my cutting machine for the tag. Saying I had ‘fun’ with this project would be an understatement… it was a blast and I love how it turned out!

Using the Dreaming Tree Petite Cake SVG cut file with my Cricut Explore Air 2, I cut the cake pieces with CutCardStock Lessebo Ivory, the icing pieces with CutCardStock Pop Tone Cotton Candy, the chocolate curls with CutCardStock Pop Tone Hot Fudge, and the cherry with Stampin’ Up Red Glimmer paper and CutCardStock Lessebo Hunter Green cardstock. I used the draw function and a Cricut 1.0 Gold Metallic Marker on my cutting machine for the tag which I cut with a My Favorite Things Essential Fish Tail Sentiment Strip.

The assembly is always the most fun. I embellished the top of the cake with Eyelet Outlet ivory pearls along with 3 Girl JAM lace which I dyed with Ranger antique linen distress ink and misted water in my Tim Holtz distress sprayer. I attached the tag with a Gina K Designs Shaker Strip to give it the same height as the pearls.

Here’s a shot with the lid removed. It’s actually a good-sized little box – big enough to hold a small gift or some candy. Totally fun! ;)

Sending Well Wishes

Hey everybody! Happy Friday! I shaking my head at how fast this year has flown by… so hard to believe we’re in the first week of October already! I’m delighted to share that I’m guest designing once again for Cut It Up Challenges, and the theme for Challenge #288 is Favorite Color(s)! Green has always been my favorite color (although I have several others that rank right up there with it) so I went with several shades of green and several different patterned papers for this diorama get well card.

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with layering panels from several green papers in the Keep It Simple Jade 12×12 Collection Pack. Using the Keep It Simple Stitched Squares Nested Dies, I cut a square into the inside flap and retained it for use on the front.

Using the Stampin’ Up A Fish & A Wish stamp set, Catherine Pooler Deck the Halls, Sage, Spruce, and Eucalyptus inks, and the coordinating Fish Builder Punch, I created two fish for the front and two for the inside. I adhered two of the fish on the die cut square, popping one up on a foam strip, and stamped a sentiment (from the same stamp set) in the bottom center of the square. The finishing touch was adding several light green gemstones.

I cut the background seascape panel from a scrap in the Hot Off The Press Seascapes & Sand 6×6 double-sided paper pack and added the other two fish (one popped up on a foam strip) and several more light green gemstones. Using the Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies, I cut a rectangle from a lighter green paper in the Keep It Simple Jade Collection Pack and adhered it beneath the aperture. I stamped another sentiment from the Stampin’ Up A Fish & A Wish stamp set, leaving room for a signature.

Lake by the Mountains paper sculpture

Hey everybody! Happy Friday – it’s almost the weekend! The weekends sure are rolling around mighty quickly these days, lol! I’m delighted to be guest designing once again for Cut It Up Challenges! The theme for Challenge #284 is Create A Scene, and I created a paper sculpture for Ed’s birthday that fit perfectly into this challenge! You know how much I love my Scan N Cut, and I used the amazing Father’s Day Paper Sculpture cut file from Dreaming Tree to create this beautiful scene.

I cut all the pieces from Clear Path Paper white cardstock; American Crafts Dandelion, Kale, Crimson, Grass, Key Lime, Plum, Marine, Sunflower and Leaf cardstock; and DCWV Textured Double Sided cardstock. I always say the assembly of these kinds of projects is the most fun! I assembled it with liquid glue and foam strips (some cut into smaller pieces), giving it tons of dimension. The dimensional layers on this really bring it to life. So happy with how it turned out, and the hubs loved it too! And I do apologize for the slight glare on front of the shadowbox… the acrylic was hard to photograph!

Hey everybody! Happy Friday! I hope you’re having a fabulous week! I’m delighted to share that one of my projects was a ‘Top Cut’ several weeks ago over at Cut It Up Challenges, and the lovely Larelyn invited me to guest design for an upcoming challenge, so here I am! The theme for Challenge #281 is Hello Sunshine, and I created an adorable card featuring the You Are My Sunshine stamps and dies from Prickley Pear Stamps! This was a fun one and went together seamlessly!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock along with a layering panel from Cougar 80# White cardstock. I inked the layering panel with the My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Stencil and Ranger stormy sky distress ink, and added a strip of Eyelet Outlet grass washi tape across the bottom. I stamped the sun from the Prickley Pear Stamps You Are My Sunshine stamp set on a yellow striped pattern paper in the Keep It Simple Lemon 12×12 Collection, and cut it with the coordinating Prickley Pear Stamps You Are My Sunshine die. Then I stamped the curved sentiment from the same stamp set under the sun. I stamped the little flower duo on a scrap piece of Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating die as well.

I cut the inside panel from Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock and embellished it with strips of yellow patterned paper from the Keep It Simple Lemon Collection Pack and a leftover strip of the Cougar cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps You Are My Sunshine stamp set and layered the panel on a coordinating yellow print.

Hi friends! Happy Fri-YAY to all you working people! Hope you have something fun planned this weekend! The weather here is glorious – we started opening windows last week (a few hours at a time each day), and the cats absolutely love laying on the window sills watching everything going on in the ‘hood! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I scored a top pick honor over at Cut It Up Challenges last month and was invited by the lovely Evelyn to guest design, so here I am! I created this adorable Matchbook for Challenge #248 – Spring! I’m addicted to these little things and have acquired quite a few now, so I just need to find the time to make them! ;)

I cut the base from a wood plank paper in the P13 Always and Forever 6×8 designer paper pack, the awning and window frames from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Hot Fudge cardstock, and the rest of the elements from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock which I colored with alcohol markers. Then the fun began… I LOVE assembling these!

Here are some angled shots.

And one more peek with the teeny tiny envelope… another adorable Matchbook completed! I have quite a few more planned, so stay tuned! I think I’m an addict, lol!

Hi friends! Happy Friday – I hope you’re having a wonderful week! We’re two weeks into January already… yikes! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! One of my projects was a top pick over at Cut It Up Challenges at the end of December and I was invited to guest design in an upcoming challenge so here I am sharing my GD inspiration project for Challenge – 243 Anything Goes which is a super adorable crayon box card! I am such a fiend when it comes to awesome cut files and putting these fun projects together! I was on an SVG design team for 2-1/2 years and since stepping down almost two years ago, I’ve really missed it! I seem to be getting my Scan N Cut out of the cabinet for crafty plays more and more often these days, lol!

I cut the pieces from CutCardStock Basis Gold, Basis Green, Basis Orange, Basis Red, Basis Navy, Pop-Tone Grape Jelly, Bonsai Green and Camomile cardstock, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, and American Crafts Marine cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Prickley Pear Stamps Truck stamp set in green ink on the tag for the front.

I absolutely love putting these kinds of projects together! Box cards are among my all-favorites, and this one was particularly fun! I stamped the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Color My World stamp set in green ink on the panel for the back.

And one more look… I’m just totally smitten! So happy to have scored the guest gig at Cut It Up Challenges where I was able to share this!
