America the beautiful

6/11/22 – Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hey y’all! I hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday! We’re already a week into June and that just blows my mind! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Pop Tone cardstock that’s on sale this month so be sure to stock up! You can’t go wrong with the amazing colors to choose from! This 4th of July card I’m sharing uses Sweet Tooth and Wild Cherry cardstock with stamping in blue ink. This is a simple Americana design that would be super easy to mass produce!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base, layering panel and die cut stitched square from Pop Tone Sweet Tooth cardstock along with a layering panel and square from Pop Tone Wild Cherry cardstock. Using the Deep Red Grunge Stars & Stripes rubber stamp and Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink, I randomly stamped the grunge flag over the white cardstock layering panel and then stamped the flag once on the die cut square. I spritzed the die cut square with Tattered Angels Iridescent Silver Glimmer Mist to add a little shimmer. I then adhered the stamped pieces to the red cardstock layers.

I stamped the sentiment from The Project Bin’s Red White and Boom stamp set in Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red ink on the die cut square and then heat embossed it in Hero Arts Cherry Red embossing powder to make it stand out. I adhered the die cut square to the background panel and then adhered them to the front of the card base. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet red gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Pop Tone Sweet Tooth cardstock and embellished it with a couple leftover strips of Pop Tone Wild Cherry cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in blue ink and layered the panel on red cardstock.

And one more peek… really loving the Americana aspect of this card in white and red cardstock with stamping in blue ink!

You’re Kind of a Big Deal

Hey y’all, Happy Hump Day! Hope you’re having a great week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring more of our Basis cardstock that’s on sale this month. I’m a huge fan of the Basis 110# weight for card bases, and we have some absolutely gorgeous colors of Basis 80# layering weight, so be sure to stock up! I have shared quite a few Mother’s Day cards over the past several months, and since Father’s Day will be here in just a few short weeks, I’m still cranking out Father’s Day cards. I happened to have some cool seascape patterned paper in my stash that coordinates very well with a new stamp set and coordinating punch, so that’s the direction I went!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from our Basis 110# White cardstock along with layering panels from Basis Blue cardstock and a seascape patterned paper which I adhered together to create a cool background. I stamped the whale from the Stampin’ Up ‘Whale Done’ stamp set in Catherine Pooler Twilight ink on a scrap of 80# Solar White and punched it with the coordinating punch. I punched several additional whales from scraps of 80# Solar White and Basis White that I had out on my desk, and layered them behind the stamped whale for a little dimension. I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the upper right corner and added a small green enamel heart, which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Basis 80# White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the seascape patterned paper and Basis Blue cardstock used on the front. I stamped the inside sentiment from the Hero Arts ‘Year-Round Messages’ stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap piece of Basis White and added some narrow strips of Basis Medium Blue cardstock for a little interest.

And one more look… totally loving this card! Our Basis cardstock paired with great patterned paper makes the most awesome cards!

Scrappy hugs,

For The Record

Hey everybody! I hope your week has started off nicely! Absolutely no complaints here… we are in our happy place doing what we love and we’re having some gorgeous weather! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Basis cardstock that’s on sale this month. This line is one of my favorites so be sure to stock up while it’s on sale – there are some fantastic colors available! I’m in Father’s Day card mode right now (more commissioned by our little local hardware/everything else store) and this one is really cute!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from our Basis Gray cardstock along with layering panels from Basis Burgundy cardstock and two coordinating patterned papers which I adhered together to create a nice masculine background. I stamped the record from the Stampin’ Up ‘For The Record’ stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut it with a Spellbinders Standard Circle die, paper piecing the inside heart with the burgundy cardstock. I die cut several extra circles from the gray cardstock and layered them behind the stamped record for a little dimension. I stamped the diagonal stripes for the large sentiment on an 80# Basis White scrap in Catherine Pooler Twilight ink and embossed the sentiment in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder over Catherine Pooler Midnight ink. I stamped the small sentiment (from the same stamp set) in Tuxedo Black ink in the bottom right corner which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Dolphin cardstock and embellished it with strips of the patterned paper and Basis Burgundy cardstock used on the front. I stamped the inside sentiment from the Stampin’ Up ‘Happy & Heartfelt’ stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink.

And one more peek… totally loving how this turned out! This Basis cardstock is so awesome and makes the nicest cards! My dad’s been gone since 1975 but I sure enjoy creating Father’s Day cards for other people! ;)

Mother’s Day Edge-to-Edge Shaker

Hey everybody! Well, another Thursday has rolled around which means the weekend is rapidly approaching! Not a bad thing, huh?! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our glitter cardstock that’s on sale this month. I created my first edge-to-edge shaker and love how it turned out! The touch of our Gold Glitter cardstock with the layered flower on the front of this commissioned Mother’s Day card really looks nice. The die cut flower has many layers and was created with several shades of purple, green and brown cardstock, and a little bit of golden yellow cardstock in the flower center.

Using the Sizzix Bloom Colorize Thinlits, I die cut all the pieces of the layered flower from our Basis Dark Purple cardstock, Pop-Tone Grapesicle cardstock, Pop-Tone Grape Jelly cardstock, Astrobrights Planetary Purple cardstock, Grape Jellybean cardstock, Basis Pink cardstock, Pop-Tone Cotton Candy cardstock, Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock, Pop-Tone Jellybean Green cardstock, Basis Green cardstock, Royal Sundance Linen Emerald cardstock, Basis Gold cardstock, Brown Bag Kraft Paper and Basis Brown cardstock, and assembled it.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from 80# Solar White cardstock, Gold Glitter cardstock and Basis Dark Purple cardstock which I adhered together. I cut a strip of Gold Glitter cardstock and adhered it toward the bottom of the panel. I laid the assembled flower on the panel to get an idea of where to stamp the sentiment, and then stamped the sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Mom stamp set in Memento Grape Jelly ink. I slid the panel into a Tonic Studios A2 Shaker Pocket along with a pinch of shaker bits (consisting of an assortment of Spiegelmom Scraps and Darice sequins) and adhered it to the front of the card base.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of Basis Dark Purple cardstock and Gold Glitter cardstock. I stamped another sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Mom stamp set in Memento Grape Jelly ink and layered the panel on the dark purple cardstock.

And here’s one more look… not too bad for my first attempt at an edge-to-edge shaker card, even though it was difficult to photograph with all that acetate! Loving the gold glitter cardstock with this layered flower!

Making Spirits Bright

4/16/22 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday – I hope you had a fabulous week and you’re doing something fun this weekend! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our glitter cardstock that’s on sale this month. Our glitter cardstock is amazing because the glitter doesn’t rub off like some of the other brands out there. I created this mini slim Christmas card in non-traditional colors of purple and teal, and it features our Silver Glitter cardstock that I colored with alcohol markers and paired with our Bright Silver Foil cardstock. There’s nothing prettier to me than a Christmas card in colors other than the traditional red and green!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Basis 110# White cardstock along with layering panels from Basis 80# White cardstock and Basis Dark Purple cardstock using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers Dies. I upcycled a pretty piece of wide teal, white and purple ribbon for this project that a stamp order was wrapped in a couple months ago. I adhered it to the left side of the white cardstock layering panel and then adhered the panel to the dark purple panel.

Using the Sizzix Seasonal Sketch Thinlits, I die cut the base flower petals, berries and leaves from Silver Glitter cardstock and colored them with purple and teal alcohol markers, and then die cut the outlines from Bright Silver Foil cardstock. I colored several tiny clear gemstones with a yellow alcohol marker and adhered them to the center of the flower. I adhered the flower to the card front and added a foiled sentiment that I created with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Spellbinders Glimmer Silver Foil, and Spellbinders Glimmer Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. The finishing touch was adding several gemstones from the Trinity Amethyst Accent Embellishment Mix with the Trinity Pick Up Stick.

I cut the inside panel from Basis 80# White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of Basis Dark Purple cardstock and Silver Glitter cardstock colored with the teal alcohol marker. I added another foiled sentiment created with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Spellbinders Glimmer Silver Foil, and Spellbinders Glimmer Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Hot Foil Plate & Die Set, and layered the panel on the dark purple cardstock.

And one more peek… totally loving how this turned out! This silver glitter and silver foil cardstock is ah-maazing and makes the most beautiful embellishments for cards! Who doesn’t love glitter and shine?!

Hey, everybody! Happy Friday! What you got goin’ on this weekend… anything fun?! Lol, you know where I’ll be (wink-wink)! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring more of the Curious Metallic cardstock on sale this month! Have you ever even considered making earrings out of cardstock?! I created another couple pairs of fringe earrings – one pair is made entirely from Curious Metallic cardstock and embellished with tiny clear gemstones, and the other pair has Curious Metallic cardstock elements but is made primarily from craft leather and embellished with Nuvo Bottle Green Crystal Drops. These were so much fun!

This first pair is made entirely of cardstock. I die cut the pieces for each earring from Curious Metallic White Silver, Curious Metallic Violette and Curious Metallic Night. I assembled them with Bearly Art precision craft glue, affixed the earring wires and rings, and then adhered tiny clear gemstones.

This second pair has Curious Metallic cardstock elements but is made primarily from craft leather. I die cut two of the pieces for each earring from Curious Metallic Chestnut and Curious Metallic Aloe, and the fringe pieces from brown and green craft leather. I assembled them with Bearly Art precision craft glue, affixed the earring wires and rings, and then applied tiny dots of Bottle Green Crystal Drops.

And one more peek of each pair… super happy with how these turned out! Not sure whether I want to gift them or keep them! ;)

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a fabulous week and not working too hard, regardless of where you’re working! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring cardstock from our gorgeous line of Curious Metallic that’s on sale this month! Be sure to stock up – this is one of my many favorites! I created a pretty thinking of you card with Curious Metallic White Gold cardstock and Curious Metallic Gold Leaf cardstock along with an alcohol pearls background beneath the Paper Rose Gum Leaf Border Die.

I started by creating a vellum background panel. I dropped Ranger Elixir and Radiant Alcohol Pearls onto the vellum and pounced a Ranger Alcohol Ink Applicator Tool with Felt to distribute the alcohol pearls, then trimmed the panel. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Curious Metallic White Gold cardstock along with a border using the Paper Rose Gum Leaf Border Die. The die was actually created to cut directly into the card base so I tweaked it a bit and created a separate panel that I could adhere my alcohol pearl background beneath and then adhere both to the front of the card base. Using my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System, Spellbinders Glimmer Gold Foil, and Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Plate and Die Set, I created a sentiment strip on Neenah Classic Baronial Ivory cardstock which I trimmed and adhered across the bottom of the card front on a double-sided adhesive foam strip. I added several gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Andradite Sparkle Embellishment Mix using the Trinity Pick Up Stick.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Baronial Ivory cardstock and embellished it with narrow strips of Curious Metallic White Gold cardstock and Curious Metallic Gold Leaf cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp set in Memento Cottage Ivy ink and layered the panel on gold leaf cardstock.

And one more peek… this cardstock is SO pretty and makes card designs absolutely pop! Love how this turned out!

Scrappy hugs,

celebrate

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday – here’s to a wonderful week! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring the amazing Classic Crest cardstock which is on sale this month. I love it and it’s a staple in my studio! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! Most of my card bases are created from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock – there is no better cardstock for a card base! This birthday card is clean and simple, and has a dimensional paper pieced die cut rose with a little pink and green tone on tone going on!

NOTE: The supply chain issues with the Classic Crest and Linen cardstock that I mentioned a couple weeks ago are still ongoing so I wanted to remind everyone. Some other really good options that I can personally vouch for, which I have in my stash also, are 110# Basis White, 80# Basis White, 65# Pop-Tone Sweet Tooth and Royal Sundance 80# Fiber White.

This Papertrey Ink Noted: Scalloped A2 Die Collection is an oldie and one of my favorites, and I thought it would make a really pretty and dainty birthday card in pale pink and pale green which is one of my favorite color combos. And there’s a lot to be said about the pop of black on pastels! I cut the card base from Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and layered a stitched rectangle cut from Curious Metallic Aloe 111# cardstock with a stitched oval with debossed scallops cut from Curious Metallic Pink Quartz 111# cardstock. The rose (another old die in my stash) is paper pieced using the green and pink cardstock with four layered outlines cut from Curious Metallic Night 111# cardstock for some hefty dimension. I placed the rose in the upper left corner and positioned it where the pink rose was on the pink oval and the green leaves were on the green rectangle for a tone on tone effect. I cut the sentiment twice from the black cardstock and layered one on top of the other for just a little dimension. I finished the front with three small gold rim pink pearls.

I cut/embossed a pink frame with debossed scallops for the inside which I adhered to a white cardstock oval and adhered to a green rectangle. I stamped the sentiment in black ink leaving some room for a signature.

And one more look… really loving how this turned out! Love me some pink and green – and this shimmery cardstock on a Classic Crest card base is THE BEST!

Scrappy hugs,

Just Because

Howdy, peeps! A real big Happy Tuesday shout-out to you all! I hope you had a great weekend and your week is going great so far! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring more of our Classic Crest and Classic Linen cardstock that’s on sale this month so be sure to stock up! I used both Neenah Classic Linen 100# Solar White cardstock and Neenah Classic Linen 80# Solar White cardstock along with Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock which I paired with our Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock to create this pretty ‘just because’ card.

NOTE: Several weeks ago we were notified by CutCardStock that there are supply chain issues with the Classic Crest and Linen cardstock so I wanted you all to be aware. Some other really good options that I can personally vouch for, which I have in my stash also, are 110# Basis White, 80# Basis White, 65# Pop-Tone Sweet Tooth and Royal Sundance 80# Fiber White.

I took care of the florals first. Using the Altenew Fabulous Florals stamp set along with Hero Arts Dandelion and Red Royal inks, and Memento Tangelo, Morocco, Lady Bug, Rhubarb Stalk, Bamboo Leaves, Olive Grove and Northern Pine inks, I stamped the florals and leaves on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and cut them with the coordinating Altenew Fabulous Florals die set.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Linen 100# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from Neenah Classic Linen 80# Solar White cardstock and three die cuts using the Waffle Flower Triple Line Diamond Panel die which I cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and layered together for dimension. I adhered the diamond die cut panel to the linen layering panel, and then adhered the floral images to the panel with Darice Double-Sided Adhesive Foam Circles and added an Eyelet Outlet Butterfly Brad. I stamped the sentiment from the Trinity Stamps A Sentiment For (Almost) Everything stamp set in Catherine Pooler Mandarin Spice ink on a scrap piece of Crest cardstock, trimmed it and layered it on a scrap piece of Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock and trimmed it again. I adhered the sentiment to the diamond die cut panel and then adhered the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock across the top. I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Fabulous Florals stamp set in the Mandarin Spice ink and layered it on the orange cardstock.

And one more look… I’m totally smitten with this card! I LOVE IT when a card turns out exactly like I pictured it in my head!

3/5/22 Top 3 at Crafty Calendar Challenge!
3/28/22 DT Favorite at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge!

Hey everybody! I’m back on this fine Saturday morning with my second project share for the CutCardStock My Sweet Valentine Blog Hop going on today and tomorrow! Be sure to hop along with us for a chance to win a $40 CutCardStock gift card! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I’ve been having the best time playing with my Scan N Cut and thoroughly enjoyed creating the two Valentines from our amazing Basis cardstock for the hop. As mentioned in my last post, I’m showcasing both cards separately so I can enter them into some challenges. I am a fun fold geek and box cards run right there at the top of my favorite list! This card features lots of hearts in various forms and sizes, an adorable birdhouse adorned with red bling, embossed panels, and two of the cutest love birds ever perched in front of their house behind a white picket fence!

I cut all the pieces from Basis 80# Red cardstock, Basis 80# Pink cardstock, Basis 80# Black cardstock, Basis 80# White cardstock and Basis 80# Gold cardstock. Picking out the colors of cardstock is always fun when creating with the Scan N Cut, but I always look forward to the assembly the most! And the sentiment on the front of this card was also printed with the Scan N Cut using the draw feature which I’ve used several times and have grown to love!

Here’s a shot from a different angle. The back (which I didn’t photograph) is completely blank with plenty of room to write a custom message and sign.

And one more peek of the card folded flat for mailing. Another super cute box card that I’m totally in love with!
