Have a Magical Day

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! I hope you’re having a fabulous week! I have an awesome CutCardStock DT inspiration project to share with you today featuring our Bright Silver Foil cardstock which is a must-have (along with the Bright Gold Foil cardstock) in my studio. I created a shaker card and used alcohol ink on the silver foil cardstock to create the background for this adorable fairy-themed birthday card!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from Mantis Green cardstock and Bright Silver Foil cardstock. I dropped Ranger Aqua, Sailboat Blue, Citrus and Lettuce alcohol inks along with Ranger Alcohol Blending Solution onto the silver foil cardstock, used an air blower to move it around the foil, and set it aside to dry thoroughly. I die cut an oval frame from Kale Green cardstock using the Cottage Cutz Double-Stitched Oval dies and a fairy castle from the silver foil cardstock using the Scrap Man Fairy Castle die.

Using the smaller of the two oval dies, I die cut an oval aperture into the alcohol ink background and a piece of dark green craft foam. I adhered a piece of acetate behind the aperture, adhered the craft foam, and then adhered the Kale Green oval frame to the front of the inked background.

I added a pinch of Kat Scrappiness Mirrored Clear Confetti Dot Mix to the Mantis Green cardstock panel and adhered the background, sealing in the confetti. I stamped the sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Best Unicorn Buddies stamp set in Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey and Spruce inks, trimmed them and layered them on a scrap of Kale Green cardstock, and added them to the card front. The final step was adding small Eyelet Outlet turquoise gemstones to the silver foil fairy castle and adhering it to the acetate.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of Bright Silver Foil cardstock and Mantis Green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment (from the same Prickley Pear Stamps Best Unicorn Buddies stamp set) in Catherine Poole Lime Rickey ink and layered the panel on Kale Green cardstock.

And one more peek… this shaker card is so stinkin’ cute I can’t even stand it! The alcohol ink background worked so well on the silver foil cardstock to create the background, and I love the silver foil fairy castle!

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D

  1. The shiny and colored circles (confetti mix)at the bottom are really magic. What a fun card. Thanks for sharing with us at Try It on Tuesday. Hugs-Erika
