Hi everyone! I hope your first week of the New Year has been a good one! I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’m once again guesting for Scrapping4fun Challenges! One of my projects was a Featured Creation last month and I was offered a guest design spot in Challenge #183 – Anything Goes, so here I am! Polkadoodles is our sponsor for this challenge and I have lots of their digital products in my stash, so I dug into the Winnie White Christmas Big Kahuna Download Kit for the image and papers I wanted to use for this front step card which is one of my favorite fun folds!

I created the card base from Papertrey Ink Simply Chartreuse cardstock. I printed three coordinating Polkadoodles digital papers, a round element, two merged pre-colored images and two sentiments on HP 32# copy paper and trimmed them. I layered the focal image on gold foil cardstock and set it aside. I adhered panels cut from the three digital papers to the card base and then adhered the focal image and a layered sentiment to the front along with three 8mm green cut jewels across the bottom.

I embellished the back panel with a leftover strip of the plaid paper and the round element that I punched with a 1-1/4″ circle punch, and layered the panel on the plain green paper.

And one more look… totally loving this fold! It’s easy to adjust the measurements if necessary (I made this one a little taller to accommodate the focal image) and it folds flat for mailing!

You are treasured

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week and you are continuing to remain safe and well! Several weeks ago one of my projects was featured on Scrapping4fun Challenges and I was asked to guest design in an upcoming challenge. Fast forward a bit… that challenge is now live and I’m delighted to share my GD inspiration project for #172 – O cean! We’d love to see your project featuring anything in and around the ocean. For this hybrid mermaid card, I started with a sea waves stencil and distress ink to create the background panel and adhered it to the card base. I purchased the Winnie Mermaid Kisses pre-colored digital image for my stash which I printed on Neenah Solar white cardstock and cut with a stitched oval die. I cut another stitched oval from light blue craft foam – one of my favorite tricks is to layer colored foam beneath an image so that the color peeks out from around the edge. I adhered the focal image to a slightly larger mini scallop die cut, then stamped a mermaid sentiment in black ink toward the bottom of the front panel. I added one tiny pearl to the clam shell she’s holding, some dimensional magic to the underwater bubbles, and a few flat-back pearls to the corners of the stenciled background.

I embellished the inside panel with a couple strips of blue cardstock and stamped another mermaid sentiment in black ink.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! What a sweet image!

happy birthday

Hello, crafty peeps! I have a special kind of project to share with you today, a card I created for the Scrapping4fun Challenges Guest Designer Challenge! Anyone who was a guest designer for Scrapping4fun Challenges this year has been invited to participate. We were allowed to choose our own theme as long as we follow this sketch:

I love sketches and pretty much followed this one to a ‘T’ (as I usually do) and created a pretty birthday card using five coordinating papers from the BasicGrey Marjolaine paper pad. I also used some silver foil and glitter Washi.

I used a variety of dies to achieve the elements in the sketch, along with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and leaf charm, and a little bit of bling.

I embellished the inside with leftover strips of paper used on the front, and stamped the sentiment in black ink. The front and inside sentiments are from Inspired by Stamping.

And here’s one more peek… I really love how this turned out! And that sketch is pure awesomeness! ;)

happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m happy to share that I’m guesting for Scrapping4funChallenges again! One of my projects was featured several weeks ago so I was asked to be a guest designer for Challenge #153 – Thanks / Thanksgiving / Gratitude. I created a Thanksgiving card using Bugaboo’s Autumn Jar digital image which I colored with my Studio 71 alcohol markers. I just love this image, and as all Bugaboo images are, it was a pleasure to color!

I cut the image with a stitched mini scallop rectangle die, stamped a sentiment at the top, and layered it on foam and then the background created from three colors and patterns of paper from one of my favorite paper pads. Then I added several dark brown sequins.

Side Step Tool Box Card

Hi everyone! I’m happy to share that I’m once again guesting for Scrapping4fun Challenges! One of my art journal spreads was a Featured Creation a few weeks back, so here I am, lol! I’m thrilled to share my GD inspiration project for Challenge #110 – Masculine/Boys. Come play with us! I created a super cute masculine card that could easily be used for a birthday or for Father’s Day, using the Side Step Tool Box Card cut file from the Silhouette store. How flippin’ cute is this?!

The base was cut from red, the drawers from red and silver, the peg board from dark brown and the tools from yellow and silver cardstock. And I added a couple flat head screw brads. Oh, what fun!

Hello, my crafty friends! I’m very happy to share that I’m guest designing over at Scrapping4fun Challenges again! One of my cards was featured a few weeks back and the lovely Rachelle asked me to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge, so here I am! And I’m stoked to share my GD project for Challenge #103 – Winter Wonderland!

My inspiration came from the the gorgeous shades of blue in the inspiration photo. I immediately thought of “Winter Blues” and created a glittery blue thank you card. One can never have too many thank you cards in their stash, especially around the holidays. The shoe image I used is called Christmas Heels from Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I’ve had it in my stash for several years. I have a (slightly huge) shoe fetish and I have just about every one of Jodie’s shoe images, lol! I love them!

I colored the shoe with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut it. I cut a piece of blue glitter paper the size of the card base and cut the bottom off with a stitched scallop edge die to expose the white card base beneath. I used some Inspired by Stamping stamp sets for the front and inside. I stamped the front sentiment in the lower right corner of the card base and added some very light blue Crystal Drops. Super easy and super fun! :D

I kept the inside fairly simple with just a stamped sentiment on a layered panel. I’m really diggin’ how this turned out, lol!

I created a very feminine shabby chic Christmas card featuring both tool and ink distressing, smeared grit paste and watered-down Gesso splatters on the front, and stamping on the inside. I had a great time with this!
