Mother’s Day Wreath

Hi friends! Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit! I just discovered that I forgot to share quite a few pretty Mother’s Day cards that I made in that big commissioned order several weeks ago! I’ve been so busy that I didn’t even realize how slack I had become! Bahahaha, that’s an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard one! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I ordered some new stamps and dies to create this year’s Mother’s Day cards (commissioned by the same store owner as last year) because I didn’t want to use all of the same supplies that I used last year since we live in a small town. The stamps and dies on this card are from Pretty Pink Posh and I just love them!

This card was definitely a labor of love and the only one like it (I made multiples of most of the others). All those little flowers and leaves were individually stamped, colored with alcohol markers, and die cut, and then fashioned into a wreath around a stitched circle die cut containing the stamped sentiment. And I added a few extra red flower heads to ’round out’ the wreath a little. The A2 top-folding card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock with a panel of Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy cardstock placed behind the apertures left by the Festive Repeat Thinlits. As frequently happens with intricate die cuts, some of those tiny pieces remained when I removed the die from the cardstock, so I didn’t use the tool to remove them, which I thought created a little interest. The finishing touches were the addition of a red bow and some tiny iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock as well, stamped the sentiment in black ink, and layered the panel on CutCardStock Red Wagon cardstock.

And one more peek… really loving how this turned out!

  1. Gosh Leslie, what a very beautiful and interesting design, the flowers remind me of the artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, I love the flower wreath and the cut out background, just so gorgeous. Oh! yes! I agree about those little pieces of interest.

  2. Nice job on the wreath. It made a very pretty card against the aperture die. Had to shake my head in amazement that you make multiples, you are a bonafide card making factory! xoxo
