Hi everyone! Hope the weather is decent where you are and it hasn’t gotten too hot yet! It’s warming up here but with little to no humidity, it’s more easily tolerated. It’s time for another fun challenge over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #51 – Anything Goes + Aperture! We are a technique challenge blog and all of our challenges are ‘anything goes’ with an optional technique twist each month given to inspire you! This month the twist is an aperture, which is any shaped opening in your project. Just remember that the twist is not mandatory to play! I’m still in Christmas mode so this peek-a-boo die and my favorite poinsettia die were the first two things that came to mind! This design came together pretty quickly!

I created a standard A2 top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel cut from CutCardStock Curious Metallic White Silver cardstock and a piece of white craft foam. Using the My Favorite Things Die-namics Rectangle Peek-A-Boo Window die, I die cut the aperture in the white silver panel and the craft foam, and adhered them together. I cut a rectangle from CutCardStock Bonsai cardstock which I adhered behind the aperture, and then adhered the piece to the card base.

I added the ‘Joy’ sentiment using silver glitter alpha stickers along with some small green gemstones for a little interest. Using the Hero Arts Paper Layering Poinsettia die set, I cut the poinsettia from CutCardStock Silver Glitter cardstock and the leaves from Papertrey Ink New Leaf cardstock, assembled it and added Nuvo Bottle Green Crystal Drops to the center. I set it aside until the Crystal Drops were dry, and then adhered it to the card front, at the bottom left of the aperture.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, embellished it with a strip of the Papertrey Ink New Leaf cardstock, stamped the sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Christmas Trees clear stamp set in green ink, and layered the panel on CutCardStock Bonsai cardstock.

And one more look… I absolutely love this poinsettia die and have used it many times. It makes such an elegant Christmas card!

Sunflower Thank You note card

Hi everyone! I hope you are having an amazing week! I’ve gotten a good bit of crafting in so I’m a happy camper! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #147 – Anything Goes! I created a pretty thank you note card with another NBUS rubber stamp (never before used schtuff) I unearthed in my studio! I had to peel the backing off the cling in order to use this one too, so I know it’s never been out of it’s packaging, lol! This one is beautiful and I’m happy I found it! ;)

I created a standard A2 top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Linen 100# Solar White cardstock along with a panel for the front cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. I stamped the image in brown ink on the front panel, colored it with alcohol markers, layered it on craft foam and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink on a white cardstock scrap, trimmed it and adhered it to the front panel on dimensional foam pads. The final touch was the addition of Nuvo Ivory Seashell Crystal Drops.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, embellished it with a strip of dark yellow cardstock and layered the panel on the same cardstock. I left the inside panel blank to write a custom message.

And one more look… what a gorgeous stamp! Love how this turned out!

Happy Birthday, Gnomie!

Hey everybody! Happy Hump Day – I hope your week is going well! Can you believe another month is almost behind us?! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped in with a fun shaker card I created with the adorable Trinity Stamps Just For You stamp set along with the coordinating Just For You die set. Trinity Stamps has been celebrating their 3rd birthday all month long (and I took advantage of a great birthday sale and bought several stamp and die sets), so I thought it only fitting to share a birthday card! I sure do love me some gnomes and they have some of the cutest! ;)

I cut a square top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock, and cut a square aperture with a My Favorite Things Die-namics Wonky Stitched Square STAX die along with a frame from CutCardStock Basis Magenta 80# cardstock which I adhered to the outside of the aperture. Using the Trinity Stamps Just For You stamp set, I stamped the gnome on Solar White cardstock, colored her with alcohol markers, and cut her with the coordinating Just For You die set. I used my oh so lonely We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool to seal a large pouch filled with Melted Icicle Clear Twinkle Sequin Confetti Mix and adhered it to the back side of the front flap so it was visible through the aperture. I adhered a second piece of white cardstock with a square aperture on the back side of the front flap to conceal the edges of the pouch. I stamped and die cut the sentiment, and adhered it beneath the aperture. The finishing touch was the addition of some pink bling.

I embellished the inside flap with patterned paper, and adhered the stamped, colored and die cut gnome in the center so she was visible through the aperture.

Happy Healing

Hi friends! A very happy last Tuesday of the month to you! Wow… another month has flown by! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new ‘5 Colors Plus Twist’ Challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Eureka Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! The twist this time is to make a Get Well card so I created a cheerful patchwork card for a far away friend using the sponsor’s image called Flower Girl that was gifted to me! This was a fun one!

For the ‘5 Colors Plus Twist’ Challenge this fortnight, we are to use at least three of the five colors shown in the photo below, as well as as play the twist of making a Get Well card. I used all five colors in my card.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a layering panel from 80# Solar White. I cut stitched squares and rectangles from CutCardStock Basis 80# Aqua, Basis 80# Coral, Basis 80# Pink, Basis 80# Red cardstock and CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Gumdrop Green cardstock and arranged them on the white cardstock panel. I printed the digital image on a full sheet of 80# Solar White cardstock and cut it with my Scan N Cut along with four more plain die cuts, colored the top one with alcohol markers, and then layered them together for dimension. I stamped the sentiment in the top right corner, adhered the flower girl, and added Eyelet Outlet White Enamel Dots.

Here’s an angled shot showing the dimension of the digital image, almost like a thick paper doll! ;)

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a couple more stitched die cuts and a Brutus Monroe Conversation Clipping (telling my far away healing friend that I miss her), and adhered the panel directly to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… love how this turned out! The patchwork design is so fun and pairs perfectly with the adorable image!

enjoy the little things

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m excited to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I absolutely love creating scenes with our washi tape and brads, and this fun birthday card features our Gnome Brads along with Lawn Mushroom Brads and some of my favorite Grass Washi Tape and Wide Sky Washi Tape! Oh, and throw in a Sun Brad! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a layer from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock which I covered with Grass Washi Tape and Wide Sky Washi Tape. I adhered a die cut gnome cottage and tree stump with lantern, and added Gnome Brads, Lawn Mushroom Brads and a Sun Brad. The finishing touch was the addition of a sentiment which I flagged on one end with a square punch.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, stamped the sentiment in black ink and layered the panel on CutCardStock Pop Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock.

And one more look… so loving how this turned out! The die cut cottage was super fun to color and assemble, and the gnome and mushroom brads were the perfect additions!

Hello Kitty!

Hey everybody! Well, another week has almost bitten the dust – they are passing by so fast it’s making my head spin! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a super sweet CAS kitty card featuring the most adorable Tutti Designs Cat In Basket die paired with some pink enamel hearts and iridescent bling! Perfect for a cat lover!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis Natural 110# cardstock (which is perfect for an almost one-layer card) and rounded the bottom right corner. I cut the Tutti Designs Cat In Basket and a single narrow strip from CutCardStock Magenta 80# cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in pink ink, stamped it again in Versamark and applied Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. I adhered the die cut and the strip, and added two pink enamel hearts. Using the Crystal Katana Pick Up Tool, I added quite a few tiny iridescent gemstones to finish off the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory 80# cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips of CutCardStock Magenta 80# cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Natural 110# cardstock for a tone-on-tone effect, stamped the sentiment in pink ink and layered the panel on the magenta cardstock.

And one more peek… this is so stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it! What an absolutely ah-DOR-able die! Wouldn’t it be fun to die cut a bunch of these cats in a basket in different colors to create a set to give as a gift?!

Spit Happens

Hey, everybody! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! I’m shaking my head at how fast this month is going by! Swoosh… just like the rest! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a super fun inspirational card featuring our matching llama brads and stamps, along with my favorite white enamel dots! I mentioned a couple weeks ago when I posted the card with the pleated fold that I made a second one – and this is it! Pretty much the same design but with different double-sided paper, cardstock and stamps.

I cut a standard A2 top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from double-sided patterned paper and yellow cardstsock. I created the pleated fold element using the opposite side of the patterned paper. I stamped a sentiment from the Llama Stamp Set in yellow ink on a scrap piece of white cardstock, punched it with a circle punch, and layered it on a slightly larger circle punched from yellow cardstock. I added a Llama Brad in the center and adhered the circle element to a layered horizontal strip created from a coordinating piece of patterned paper and yellow cardstock. The finishing touch was adding die cut corners and White Enamel Dots.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the Party Animal DSP and Delightful Dijon cardstock, stamped another sentiment from the Llama Stamp Set in Catherine Pooler Sauna ink, and layered the panel on Delightful Dijon cardstock.

And one more look… super happy with this card! I absolutely love the matching brads and stamps!

CAS Inspirational Card Trio

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! Can’t believe it’s the middle of June already! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring more of the Pop-Tone cardstock that’s on sale this month, so be sure to grab a few colors to add to your stash! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I have a cool upcycled project to share today – I turned three business card size inspirational cards into greeting cards. If you’ve ever ordered from CutCardStock, you know that they always, without fail, include a note pad and a handwritten thank you note for supporting their family business, and they wrap the packages of cardstock in bubble wrap (with lots of TLC) to keep them from getting damaged in transit. In an order I received a few months back, they also included three inspirational cards with awesome messages that you may have received too, so I left them out on my desk with the intention of eventually upcycling them because the messages were so awesome. I’m super proud that this upcycling project happened sooner rather than later! ;)

The design is the same on all three cards. I cut standard A2 size card bases from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and rounded the top left and bottom right corners. I rounded the same two corners of the inspirational cards and cut small layering panels for those from CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Tangy Orange cardstock, Pop-Tone 65# Wild Cherry cardstock and Pop-Tone 65# Orange Fizz cardstock. Pop-Tone cardstock is the perfect layering weight without adding a huge amount of bulk to your cards. I washi-taped two nesting primitive star dies together and cut stars from CutCardStock Basis 80# Gold cardstock, CutCardStock Basis 80# Navy cardstock and CutCardStock Adobo 80# 4×6 cardstock, using both the large outline and the small full size die cuts. I started with a strip of washi tape, then added the layered inspirational cards and stars. Super simple design! I realized not too awfully long ago – after 45+ years of crafting – that I navigate toward the right with most of my designs, presumably because I’m left-handed. So there you have it… in case you’ve ever wondered, lol! ;)

I cut inside panels from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Tangy Orange cardstock, CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Wild Cherry cardstock and CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Orange Fizz cardstock and rounded the top left and bottom right corners of each. I stamped the same sentiment on the inside of each in black ink and added a small star die cut from coordinating cardstock.

And one more look… super happy with how these turned out and I’m so glad these awesome little inspirational cards didn’t wind up in the trash!

Thank You flower basket

Howdy, peeps! Another weekend is behind us and I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m hopeful that I’ll do a better job remembering what day of the week it is, lol! A new Photo Inspiration Challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Eureka Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! I created a pretty thank you card using the sponsor’s image Flower Basket that I’ve had in my stash for years. I used the faux wood technique on a panel that I learned years ago from Gina K and haven’t done in a very long time. A big ‘thank you’ to my friend, Vicki, who used this technique in one of her recent projects and inspired me to use it.

For the Photo Inspiration Challenge this fortnight, we are to find inspiration in the photo below and use it in our project. I was inspired by the neutral colors and the greenery.

I cut a 5-1/2″ square top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with layering panels and an embellishing strip from CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Hot Fudge cardstock and My Mind’s Eye Collectible Unforgettable and All Is Bright Designer Paper Pads. I printed the digital image on 80# Solar White cardstock, colored it and cut it with a dotted squares die, then layered it on a Hot Fudge swatches die cut. As mentioned above, I created a faux wood panel using Memento Peanut Brittle and Rich Cocoa ink – the Peanut Brittle first and then the Rich Cocoa for a little bit of darker streaking to make it a tad more realistic looking. Using the Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions stamp set I stamped the sentiment in Catherine Pooler Icing On The Cake ink and cut it with the coordinating Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions die. I adhered the layers, panels and sentiment to the card base and finished it with some Eyelet Outlet Brown enamel dots.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Hot Fudge cardstock and the MME patterned paper, stamped the sentiment in the dark brown CP ink and cut it with the coordinating die, and layered the panel on the Hot Fudge cardstock.

And one more look… super happy with how this thank you card turned out! I absolutely love this image!

add Salt and Tequila note card

Hello again! I’m back one last time with the third project in my third feature as guest designer for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday! I want to thank Shery for inviting me to guest for her and for supplying some of the most awesome products I have in my crafty stash! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! As mentioned in my previous two posts, I have three projects to share and wanted to showcase them individually so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature several ARTplorations Stencils and Masks along with other products available in the store. So here is a super fun inspirational (or just for fun) note card featuring a background created with the ARTplorations Circles Flexi-Template and splattered black gesso, with a sentiment and lemon pieces from the STAMPlorations Layered Citrus stamp set stamped on novel text for interest, and flat sequins from CRAFTplorations Golden Autumn Shaker Blends added for a little bling!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis Natural 110# cardstock along with layering panels cut from CutCardStock 80# Basis Gold cardstock, CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen 80# Eclipse cardstock and Neenah Classic Crest 80# Baronial Ivory cardstock. Using several of the stencils in the ARTplorations Circles Flexi-Template, I applied Catherine Pooler Chiffon ink with a blending brush to the ivory panel to create a simple background, and then splattered watered-down black gesso over the panel and set it aside to dry. I tore a page out of the old paperback novel in my stash, copied it on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Baronial Ivory cardstock and hit it with my heat tool which I always do with any digital images or sentiments printed on the printer. [I copied the novel page because I didn’t want my stamping to bleed through the thin paper.] Using the STAMPlorations Layered Citrus stamp set, I stamped the outlines of the lemon pieces in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then filled them in with the layering stamps from the same stamp set using Catherine Pooler Lemoncello and Tiara ink. I fussy cut them and ran a Memento Tuxedo Black marker around the edges for a more finished look. I laid them on the background to determine where I wanted my sentiments stamped, did the stamping, and then adhered the lemon pieces to the background panel, popping the middle slice up on Darice Double-Sided Adhesive Foam Circles. I adhered the background to the CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen 80# Eclipse cardstock layer, then to the CutCardStock 80# Basis Gold cardstock layer and then to the card base. The finishing touch was adding several flat sequins from the CRAFTplorations Golden Autumn Shaker Blends. I LOVE flat sequins!

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Baronial Ivory cardstock and embellished it with strips of CutCardStock 80# Basis Gold cardstock and CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen 80# Eclipse cardstock, stamped the lemon slice in Tuxedo Black ink and layered the panel on the gold cardstock. I left the inside blank since this is a note card, and there’s plenty of room to write a custom message.

And one more peek… I do believe this card rates right up there with a few of my other favorites! Love how it turned out!
