Merry Christmas Slimline

Howdy peeps! We’ve busted into August and my sister’s birthday is in five days, so that means Christmas will literally be here in no time. This happens every year, lol! I have an awesome Tape Runner DT inspiration project to share with you today. I created a slimline card featuring a string of sparkling bulbs, and of course, all panels were adhered with Tape Runner. This is the first time I’ve used the STAMPlorations Layered Lights stamp set and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love the whimsical fill-ins on all the layered sets!

As mentioned above, all panels were adhered with Tape Runner. I cut a 3-3/4″ x 9″ slimline card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Pop Tone Tangy Orange cardstock and 80# Solar White cardstock. Using an acrylic stamp block, I stamped the lights and cord in Catherine Pooler Midnight ink on the white layering panel. Next, I stamped the bulb fill-ins with Ranger rustic wilderness, prize ribbon, crackling campfire, villainous potion and kitsch flamingo distress inks. I stamped over each one a second time with Versamark Dazzle and applied Ranger Bridal Tinsel Embossing Powder along with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder to seal the tinsel. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment in black ink with the MISTI, adhered the panel to the orange panel and then to the card base, and added one small Darice iridescent gemstone to each bulb which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of CutCardStock Pop Tone Tangy Orange cardstock. I added a STAMPlorations Comfort & Joy Clear Sticker and layered the panel on orange cardstock.

And one more peek… such a FUN card! I love this stamp set and will be using it again and again, I’m sure. And, as I always say, it’s awesome having a great adhesive to hold everything together!

Summer Fun ATCs

Hey everybody! I’m loving this new DT gig with the ScrapbookingStore and I’m still having a blast creating inspiration projects with this month’s scrapbook kit! Love all the beach-themed prints and colors of the papers in this collection along with the coordinating stickers! I have a fun set of six Summer Fun artist trading cards to share with you today… you know how I love me some ATCs and you know I don’t trade ’em! These babies are going in my collection, lol!

I cut ATC card bases (measuring 2-1/2” x 3-1/2”) from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and rounded the corners of each. I picked out six different papers from the kit for the backgrounds and embellished each one with stickers from the included sticker sheet along with paper strips, washi tape and bling from my stash. These were so stinkin’ fun!

And one more peek at the set… so happy with how these turned out! The fun thing about working with kits is that everything coordinates!

8/13/22 Top 3 at Inkspirational Challenges!
8/31/22 Special Mention Winner at Classic Design Challenge Blog!

Hey everybody! Hope you’re having a great week! I mentioned in my post yesterday that I joined the design team for the ScrapbookingStore which boasts a FABulous monthly scrapbook kit subscription club that’s very affordable. The August kit is beach-themed and I’ve had the best time creating with it! I’m sharing a fun surf card today… you know how I love creating little scenes and I felt like a ride along the beach headed to the waves to go surfing was in order!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I cut a layering panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and covered it with Eyelet Outlet wide sky and wide water washi tape and CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft Paper to get the scene started.

I added a land line in the distance that I hand-cut from CutCardStock Basis Brown cardstock, an Eyelet Outlet palm tree brad, and a yellow sun clip from the kit upgrades which I attached with a harlequin patterned brad from my stash. I added the beach bug and sentiment stickers from the sticker sheet included in the kit (sentiment popped up on foam squares) to complete the front.

I cut the inside panel from patterned paper in the kit and embellished it with sentiment and surf board stickers from the sticker sheet included in the kit.

And one more peek… super happy with how this turned out! Sure brings back some fun memories – I didn’t surf but we used to drive up and down one of our semi-local beaches back in the day (late 70s) when it was allowed! ;)

Summer Sandal

8/15/22 Top 5 at QKR Stampede!

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great week and you’re surviving this heat… I sure am ready for some cooler weather! I’m delighted to share that I’ve been invited to join the design team for the ScrapbookingStore which boasts a monthly scrapbook kit subscription club, and I’m thrilled beyond words! I love kits and there are so many different kinds of projects that can be created with these collections. This month’s kit is beach-themed and features papers in pretty summery colors and patterns along with coordinating stickers and optional upgraded embellishments. I’m excited to share a summer sandal, one of several debut DT inspiration projects!

Using my flip flop template, I cut the midsole from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock, the insole and straps from striped paper, and the sole and another set of straps (adhered to the underside of the striped paper straps) from beach ball paper in the kit. I used a Darice Chevron embossing folder and ran the sole through my Big Shot for a little texture like a real shoe sole. I adhered the pieces together and added a beach ball embellishment created with 1”, 1-1/4” and 1-1/2” circle punches along with two strips of Eyelet Outlet white pearl bling on each strap.

Here are a couple more shots. I’m SO smitten… these papers made an adorable little sandal!

Scrappy hugs,

Happy Birthday

Howdy everybody! Happy Monday – I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I’m proud to share that another one of my projects was Featured over at Scrapping4fun Challenges several weeks ago which scored me another guest gig – this time for Challenge #215 – Tags or Add a Tag on Your Creation! I love adding tags to my card fronts so I really enjoyed making this one! I had the Spellbinders Wild Hello June 2021 Kit of the Month in my stash so I pulled it out and decided to loosely CASE one of the card samples in the kit that I fell in love with. I used cardstock, a line die, patterned paper, die cut shapes (one being a tag which was in line with this challenge) and chipboard embellishments from the kit to create a birthday card.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from white cardstock in the Spellbinders kit along with a layering panel and strip from the patterned paper. I die cut the Happy Birthday line sentiment from black cardstock and adhered it to the seam of the patterned papers. I arranged a couple die cut shapes and several chipboard embellishments which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from white cardstock in the kit and embellished it with leftover strips of patterned paper and cardstock. I added a couple die cut shapes and layered the panel on black cardstock.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! The tag takes center stage with the die cut frame, and then comes the die cut sentiment and those chipboard embellishments! Love, love, love!

Merry Christmas Sketched Floral

Hi everybody! A very early Happy Saturday to you! I hope you are going to do something fun this weekend! I have a project to share that I created with the new Prickley Pear Stamps Sketched Florals Poinsettia stamp set! This is the new set they just released a few days ago and I created a pretty Christmas card in non-traditional colors of teal and purple with lots of light green thrown in. LOVE this color combo, especially for a Christmas card!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with plaid patterned paper layers which I adhered to the card base. Using the Sizzix Embroidery Thinlits, I die cut the hoop from CutCardStock Basis Teal and adhered it to the card front. I stamped the poinsettia image in Ranger black soot archival ink on Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock, stamped it again in Versamark and heat embossed it with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. I colored the image with alcohol markers, cut it with the center die from the Sizzix Embroidery Thinlits, and adhered it in the center of the embroidery hoop. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it to the bottom of the card front. I added an Eyelet Outlet 3mm green pearl bling strip across the top and three pearls on each side of the sentiment.

And one more look… I’m absolutely thrilled with how this turned out! The embroidery hoop is such a fun element to add to this Christmas card!

Clean and Simple Hello

Hi everyone! Okay, we’ve zoomed through another month and I’ll say it again… where is the time going?! I’ve popped in this morning to share an awesome Tape Runner DT inspiration project! This pretty clean and simple mini slimline card features acrylic block stamping along with the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Scalloped Edge dies, and of course, all panels were adhered with Tape Runner. I know I’ve mentioned (several times, lol) that I’m thrilled to have found mini slimline dies for my go-to size of 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slim cards! Kat Scrappiness also carries pre-made envelopes (AND envelope dies!) for this size card which makes me really happy! This is the legal size to mail through the post office and the only size mini slim that I make. ;)

As mentioned above, all panels were adhered with Tape Runner. Wet glue was used only to adhere the pearls. I cut a top-folding mini slimline card base from two panels of 110# Solar White cardstock. Next, I die cut a scalloped panel from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Azalea cardstock (using a Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Scalloped Edge die) and a layering panel from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Eris cardstock. I inked a 2″ square acrylic block with Catherine Pooler It’s A Girl ink, spritzed it with my Tim Holtz distress sprayer and stamped it onto the Eris cardstock panel. Once dry, I stamped the bouquets and sentiment from the Scrapbook.com Friendly Bouquets stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the flowers with a pink acrylic paint pen. The finishing touch was adding several gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Morganite Muse Embellishment Mix with my Trinity Pick Up Stick.

For the inside, I die cut another scalloped panel from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Azalea cardstock using a Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Scalloped Edge die along with a layering panel from 80# Solar White cardstock, and adhered them together. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in black ink and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… totally loving how this card turned out! I love the simplicity of stamping with an acrylic block, and of course, the confidence that everything will hold together beautifully with Tape Runner! ;)

Happy Holidays

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! Can you believe there are only a couple days left of July?! Where is the time going?! I’m thrilled to share a Christmas card with you today that I created for Prickley Pear Stamps with their new Sketched Florals Poinsettia stamp set released just yesterday! Wow. Just wow. This set is beyond gorgeous. I see this one getting a lot of use in the years to come!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base and layering panels from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock, a layering panel from CutCardStock Red Wagon cardstock (which I adhered to the card base), and plaid patterned paper panels (which I adhered to the white layering panels). I stamped the poinsettia image on Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock in Ranger black soot archival ink and colored it with Karin Brushmarkers. I cut the colored image with a Cottage Cutz Double-Sided Oval Die and adhered it to the card front. I stamped the sentiment in black soot ink on a scrap piece of Basis White cardstock, trimmed it and layered it on a scrap piece of Red Wagon cardstock, and adhered it to the bottom of the focal image. The final step was adding several Kat Scrappiness gold pearls with my Trinity Pick Up Stick.

And one more peek… I just can get over this image! So gorgeous – and the vibrant Karin Brushmarkers just brought it to life!

8/7/22 Top 3 at Country View Challenges!

Hi friends! A very Happy Saturday to you and I hope you’re doing something fun this weekend – indoors and out of this heat! We typically don’t feel the heat (or the cold) quite as bad because we don’t have much humidity out here, but we’re sure feeling it this summer. I have a fun travel-themed card to share today that I created for the July 2022 – Travel challenge over at Country View Challenges. I grabbed my Spellbinders Around The World Kit of the Month from August 2020 and made this fun card with lots of layers! I guess subconsciously I’m wishing we could travel to a cooler spot right now – and the temps in New York, London and Paris are a little lower than they are here, lol!

I used papers, dies, stamps, die cut shapes, chipboard embellishments, sequins and foam squares from the kit. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock and adhered coordinating patterned paper layer and strips. I die cut a globe from CutCardStock Basis Black, Basis Green and Stardream Metallic Vista cardstock, assembled it and adhered it to the card front. I tucked several skyscraper die cut shapes from the kit around the top edge of the globe

I adhered more die cut shapes to the card front, popping most of them up on foam squares for dimension. I added a few chipboard embellishments and sequins which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of patterned paper used on the front along with narrow strips of CutCardStock Basis Green and Stardream Metallic Vista cardstock. Using the stamp set in the kit, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and layered the panel on CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock.

And one more peek… such a fun card with lots of dimension!

8/3/22 Top 3 at Through The Craft Room Door!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m stoked to be back on the Printable Cuttable Creatables blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a slimline card using the super adorable Pouncing Cat and Yarn Basket SVG files from the amazing Purrr-fect Pals Cat SVG Bundle. OMGoodness, there are a whopping 29 files in this bundle and if you are a fellow cat lover, then you’re sure to find some whimsical kitties and accessories that you just can’t live without! I had birthday in mind when I created this card but it really could be used for just about any celebratory event.

I cut a 3-3/4″ x 9″ slimline card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock along with a layering panel from The Paper Studio Entirely Textures 2 paper pad which I adhered to the card base. I cut all the pieces from the Pouncing Cat and Yarn Basket SVG files (both from the Purrr-fect Pals Cat SVG Bundle) from CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers. This was something a little different than cutting the pieces from colored cardstock which I typically do.

I used bright alcohol marker colors for the yarn balls which created great contrast against the neutral background. I colored black spots on the kitty to resemble our guy, Loki. I stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Let’s Set Sail stamp set in Memento Espresso Truffle ink which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock, and embellished it with leftover patterned paper used on the front and a narrow strip of GKD Charcoal Brown cardstock. I stamped another sentiment (from the same stamp set) in brown ink and layered the panel on the charcoal brown cardstock.

And one more peek… this kitty is so stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it! And the yarn basket definitely adds to the cuteness factor! LOVE how this turned out!
