Kickin’ it cowgirl style

9/14/22 Top 3 at FarmQuest Challenge Blog!

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday to you all – I hope you have something fun planned this weekend! We are waking up to cooler temps here in southwestern Colorado and it’s wonderful! I’m absolutely delighted to share my debut Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today featuring stamps and dies from the new Little Cowgirl Birthday release! OMGoodness, can you say adorable?! I used the Little Cowgirl Birthday Collection Stamp & Die Bundle and Little Cowgirl Birthday Sentiments, as well as the Back to Basics Rose Collection Pack and Back to Basics Rose Enamel Hearts already in the store for this split panel birthday card!

I used Basis 110# White cardstock for the A2 size card base and adhered panels cut from the Back to Basics Rose Collection Pack. I stamped the image from the Little Cowgirl Birthday stamps in black ink, stamped it again in Versamark, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I colored the image with alcohol markers and die cut it with a die from the coordinating Little Cowgirl Birthday outline dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Little Cowgirl Sentiments stamps in black ink in the upper right corner, then adhered the image to the card front. I added tiny iridescent gemstones (from my stash) to her dress and two Back To Basics Rose Enamel Hearts which completed the card front.

For the inside, I adhered a panel cut from the Back to Basics Rose Collection Pack. I added two smaller panels and a strip cut from Basis White cardstock, then stamped the sentiment (from the same Little Cowgirl Sentiments stamps) in black ink.

And one more look… I really love how this card turned out! The products in this new release are amazing and so fun to work with! You can’t go wrong with a cowgirl-themed birthday card! ;)

9/30/22 Top 3 Creation at Scrapping4fun Challenges

Hi everybody! I hope you’re having a great week and not working too hard! We are loving life out here in our happy place with gorgeous scenery and weather! Our new challenge launched this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #46 – Anything Christmas Goes! I am a certified Scan N Cut fiend and can’t seem to get enough of my machine, lol! I have made SO many fun 3-D projects this year and this box card created with the Simply Crafty SVGs Christmas Presents Truck Card cut file is one of them. How stinkin’ cute is this?!

I cut all the pieces from American Crafts Crimson cardstock, Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock; CutCardStock Gold Glitter, Silver Glitter, Basis Brown, Basis Dark Red, Basis Black, Stardream Metallic Silver, and Royal Sundance Linen Emerald cardstock; POW Cricket Glitter cardstock, Basic Holiday 6×6 Cardstock Pad, and Christmas Holiday Print 6×6 Cardstock Pad. I stamped sentiments in black ink on the tailgate panel and back sentiment panel using the STAMPlorations Warm Hands Warm Hearts stamp set. I ran the side and tailgate panels through the Big Shot with a Sizzix Texture Fades Snowflake Pattern Embossing Folder for some fun texture. Then the major fun began… the assembly! I always love assembling 3-D projects and watching them come to life!

Here are angled and back shots.

And one more look… folded flat and ready to mail! This was a blast and could be taylored for any occasion by tweaking the elements a little bit (for example, omitting the tree and using birthday or anniversary papers for the presents)! So fun!

Happy Easter Twister

7/21/22 Lucky Random Winner at Art Impressions Blog!
8/28/22 Spotlight Favorite at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge!

Hello my friends! Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! I’ve popped in with my second post of the morning with a super adorable pastel plaid Easter card created with the amazing Art Impressions Easter Twist Set stamps and dies that I want to enter into their Perfect Plaid Challenge #331 that’s going on right now! If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Twisters, you really need to… they are so stinkin’ fun I can’t even stand it! This is the second one I’ve made – the first one was a birthday card and the post is HERE if you’re interested in looking. I LOVE an interactive card and the recipients typically do, too! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with a pastel plaid layering panel from The Paper Studio Four Seasons and Everything In Between -2- paper pad (one of my favorites) and adhered it to the card base. Using the Art Impressions Twist Frame Dies, I cut the aperture into the front flap as well as a frame for the aperture from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Flame cardstock and adhered it to the opening.

Using the Art Impressions Easter Twist Set stamps, I stamped the front and back images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with alcohol markers, cut them with the coordinating Art Impressions Easter Twist Set die and adhered them together. I die cut two pieces of ric rac and a stitched mini scallop circle from Solar White cardstock using the My Favorite Things Stitched Ric Rac and Stitched Mini Scallop Circle STAX Die-namics. I stamped the sentiment in black ink on a scrap piece of Flame cardstock, punched it with a 1″ circle punch and adhered it to the die cut scallop circle. I adhered the ric rac and the sentiment piece which completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from a coordinating piece of patterned paper from the same seasonal paper pad and adhered it to the inside of the card base. I cut a rectangular piece of Solar White cardstock for a signature panel and adhered it to the bottom.

And one more peek… here’s the back side of the twist element – you have to admit there’s nothing cuter than a bunny butt! ;)

7/15/22 Top 5 at QKR Stampede!

Hey everybody, Happy Friday! Hope you had a terrific week! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #45 – Anything Christmas Goes! You know how I love me some fun folds… so I created this pretty open box card for our challenge this time using the Concord & 9th Stacks Base dies along with the Concord & 9th Home for the Holidays stamps and dies! This scene is so much fun to create – this isn’t the first time I’ve used these stamps and dies, and it surely won’t be the last!

I die cut the base from CutCardStock Basis Blue and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, added tiny white dots using a Posca White paint pen, and assembled the base. I cut the remaining elements from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and CutCardStock Dolphin, Bonsai, Basis Red, Curious Metallic Night, Royal Sundance Linen Emerald, Royal Sundance Linen Burgundy, Curious Metallic Aloe, Stardream Metallic Aquamarine, Curious Metallic Pink Quartz, Basis Teal, Basis Aqua, and Shadow Gray cardstock, and then assembled the houses. I added a few tiny iridescent gemstones to the background and then created the scene. The final touch was stamping the sentiment in Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink on the white banner, layering it on the blue banner, and adhering it to the front of the card.

Here’s an angled shot.

And one more peek… love the fact that box cards fold flat for mailing! I really love how this one turned out!

Happy Fall Box Card

Hi friends! Can you believe it’s the middle of the year already?! The months are just flying by! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #156 – Anything Goes! Box cards are at the top of my all-time favorites and this truck box card with all the pumpkins and leaves was super fun to create… I could smell Fall while I was making this one! This Fall Truck Box Card is yet another awesome cut file from Simply Crafty SVGs! I was on a truck ‘roll’ there for a bit and I believe I’ve created nearly all the truck box cards Sandy has designed!

I cut the truck body and panels from CutCardStock Basis Dark Orange, the tires from Basis Black, the back lights from Basis Red, the sentiment from Basis Brown, and the bumper and mirrors from Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock. I cut the pumpkins and leaves from Basis Green, Basis Dark Red, Basis Gold, Basis Orange, Pop-Tone Orange Fizz and Pop-Tone Tangy Orange. I added some texture by using the Sizzix Texture Fades Harlequin embossing folder on the side and back panels, and the Darice Chevron embossing folder on the tires.

I cut the back panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and stamped the Inspired By Stamping sentiment (sadly out of business) in Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake ink.

Another angled shot and one folded flat for mailing… so loving how this turned out! I’m definitely in my element when assembling these projects – not a care in the world and no clue what’s going on around me, lol! ;)

Love is a Triple Fold Card

6/11/22 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!
6/13/22 Top Pick at Heart’s Quest Challenge Blog!

Hi peeps! I hope you’re having a great week – Friday is almost here! I’m back with another post this morning to share a fun fold card that I created to enter in my friend Becca’s relatively new Heart’s Quest Challenge Blog. The current Challenge #4 is to use a dark blue heart and lots of dark blue on project, and I think I’ve accomplished that with this triple fold card. This is a Valentine’s Day card created in non-traditional blues and features several die cuts, some very cool flowing ink cardstock and a super fun sentiment on the inside!

I cut the card base, a large stitched heart and the belly band from CutCardStock Basis Navy cardstock, as well as layering panels from HOTP Flowing Ink double-sided cardstock which I adhered to the card base. I also cut an Eiffel Tower from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Aquamarine cardstock using the Hero Arts Paper Layering Eiffel Tower die which I adhered to the card front. I die cut two love circles from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Vista cardstock using the Taylored Expressions Ring Around the Words die. I adhered the stitched heart and one of the love circles to the card front, cutting along the edges of the flaps. I cut a belly band and layers from the Basis Navy and Flowing Ink cardstocks, and adhered part of the second love circle to it, lining it up with the card front.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of HOTP Flowing Ink cardstock. I stamped the fun sentiment and heart from the STAMPlorations Funny Kinda Love stamp set in Catherine Pooler Tranquil and Cove Blue inks, and layered the panel on CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Vista cardstock.

And one more peek… this was such a fun card to create, and I’m so happy to have found Becca’s challenge! Come on over and check it out!

Scrappy hugs,

do more of what you love to do

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! I’m stoked to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I’ve been having some fun with my Scan N Cut, and the cut file for this oven box card is from My Scrap Chick. I actually had my daughter in mind when I got this cut file because she loves to cook! ;) This card features our Cooking Brads, Baking Brads and Mixer & Cup Brads and was so much fun putting together!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Astrobrights Solar Yellow, and all the remaining pieces from CutCardStock Astrobrights Re-Entry Red, Basis Light Yellow, Basis Black and Basis Gray cardstock, along with Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock. As I always mention, the greatest satisfaction I get is putting these box cards together and watching them come to life!

I drew markings on the clock with a Posca Black Paint pen. I adhered a mixing spoon brad and measuring cup brad to a piece of acetate so they would stand up on the cook top. I added two cookie sheet brads to the oven along with two oven mitts to the stove front.

I stamped a large sentiment from STAMPlorations in Memento Lady Bug ink on the back layered circle. This is a great all-occasion sentiment that could be used for just about any occasion.

And one more look… you know how much of box card fan I am, and this one was totally fun with all these awesome brads!

5/31/22 Design Team Favorite at Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog!

Hi friends! Happy Hump Day! I hope you’re having a great week! I have a fun birthday card to share with you today that I created with the new Prickley Pear Stamps Hippie Chickens stamp set! I also used the Blobby Flowers 2 stamp set for the flowers on the inside panels. You know how I love my fun folds, and this Inside Double Flap card was just the ticket! I am in love with this stamp set – I’m a child of the late 50s, 60s and early 70s, so this was an instant hit!

I cut a standard A2 size card base from CutCardStock Basis Teal with extra score lines to create an M (or W depending on how you look at it). I attached a panel cut from Hot Off The Press Flowing Ink 6×6 double-sided cardstock and then adhered paper-pieced grass, the hippie van and chickens, all from the Hippie Chickens stamp set and all colored with alcohol markers. I added the sentiment, some flower confetti and a few Dot Sparklers which completed the card front.

I adhered flaps cut from the Basis Teal cardstock along with several panels cut from the Flowing Ink cardstock, stamped flowers from the Blobby Flowers 2 stamp set on the narrower outermost panels, and added gemstones to the center of each flower. The final step was adhering sentiments along with fussy-cut chickens, flowers and spiral elements from the Hippie Chickens stamp set, as well as a few more Dot Sparklers, to the flaps.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! Such a fun, fun stamp set with so many possibilities!

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! I’m delighted to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a cool Father’s Day Lantern box card featuring our Deer Brads, Pine Tree Brads and Sun/Cloud Brads. Yep, you got it… I’ve been playing with my Scan N Cut! I have tons of cut files on my laptop and when I came across this one (looking for a different one, of course), the light bulb came on and I got to work!

I cut the main card base from CutCardStock Basis Red, and all the rest of the pieces from Papertrey Ink Spring Rain cardstock, 80# Solar White cardstock, CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Light Brown cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Year Round Messages stamp set in Catherine Pooler Over Coffee ink, trimmed it and set it aside.

As I was assembling the layers for the background scene, I added Deer Brads, Pine Tree Brads and Sun/Cloud Brads, and then finished the assembly. I added a jute rope bow at the top and adhered the stamped sentiment at the bottom.

Here are a couple angled shots. The back has a plain panel to write a custom message (if desired) and sign. And of course, this is a box card and folds flat for mailing. ;)

Of course, the most fun was assembling it! The Color Daisy Brads, White Daisy Brads and Sunflower Brads made up the little clusters of flowers in the pots. I embellished the canopy with our Pink Jewel Bling and adhered white Enamel Stars to the wheels.

I stamped a sentiment from the STAMPlorations Beautiful You stamp set in Memento Rose Bud ink and adhered the sentiment panel to the back of the cart. I punched several 1/2″ circles and adhered them to the backs of the flower clusters to hide the brad prongs.

And one more peek of the card folded flat. Love, love, love! These flower brads, bling and enamel stars look awesome on this box card!
