‘Enjoy the little things’ matchbook

5/8/21 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!
5/15/21 Top 5 at QKR Stampede!

Hi everybody! Hope you’re having a great day! We’ve had medical appointments yesterday and today, out of town both days, so I finally have a spare few minutes this evening to post my newest matchbook! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I believe I mentioned how addictive these little matchbooks are, lol! They are so fun! I’ve mailed the first two out and have someone in mind for this one so thought I might better get my post done. And I didn’t forget to include the itty bitty envelope with this one! ;)

I cut the base from CutCardStock Basis Gray cardstock and used Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock for the window trim on both sides. I used coordinating patterned papers from Polly’s Paper Studio for the wallpaper and rug. I stamped all the elements on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies. There’s even a mirror on the wall above the fireplace that has a silver foil cardstock ‘mirror.’

Here are shots going around the outside.

And one more peek… these matchbooks are so stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it! I have one more to play with, the Kitchen Set, so stay tuned! I’ve only seen four sets and I bought all four, so if Bonnie Krebs designs any more of them for Ai, I’ll definitely add them to my collection! She’s one talented gal!

Thank You

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday and top of the morning to you! A new ‘Colors and a Letter’ challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! You know you love some Bugaboo! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! For this challenge, we are to feature something ‘beginning with the letter C’ in our project. I created a thank you card featuring Bugaboo’s adorable Chibi Cupcake Peeker from my stash. Isn’t she the cutest little thing ever?!

And for the ‘Colors and a Letter’ challenge, we are to use the colors in this graphic:

I printed the digital image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers, cut it with a dotted rectangle die, and then layered it on a slightly larger dotted rectangle cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange. I set this piece aside to work on the card base. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and then cut a Jillibean Soup aqua star panel to cover the front of the card base. Several weeks ago I used the Concord and 9th Gingham Background stamp set and stamped several panels in different colors and they were out on my desk so I grabbed the yellow one and cut a stitched flag, trimming off the bottom and the top to use later on. I had a solid yellow flag and flag frame already cut from CutCardStock Astrobright Solar Yellow cardstock in my extra die cut bin so I grabbed the flag frame and adhered it to the bottom portion of the card front. I adhered the layered image to the card base so that the top 1/4″ or so protruded above the top edge of the card base which I thought was a fun and unique touch. I adhered the bottom and top portions of the stitched flag (that I trimmed off earlier) to the bottom and top edges of the image over top of the orange die cut. Next up was adding the layered sentiment from Prickley Pear Stamps that I cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Black Licorice and CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock. Then the final touch was adding some orange enamel dots and some tiny yellow gemstones.

I printed the MyScrapChick digital sentiment on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and trimmed it with the sentiment centered, leaving room to embellish the panel with leftover strips of the stamped gingham and Jillian Bean soup papers. I layered the panel on CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green and adhered it to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out with all the colors in the graphic! What a fun challenge and totally adorable image!

It’s your Birthday!

Hi everyone! A big ole Happy Monday to you! I’m thrilled to share that I’m guest designing for Make The Cards Challenges over the next three months! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! My GD inspiration project for MTCC #14: 3-2-1 Challenge is a pretty birthday card created in kraft and black, which is one of my favorite color combos although I don’t use it nearly enough!

As the graphic depicts, the challenge is to create a project using 3 embellishments, 2 die cuts and 1 stamped image. Fun, fun, fun!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Royal Sundance Felt Natural cardstock, a really sturdy cardstock, and covered the front with CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft cardstock. Using the CUTplorations Butterfly Cover Plate, I die cut the decorative front panel from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock and then die cut the flagged label from the kraft cardstock using the Inspired by Stamping Fancy Label Dies 3, which took care of my two die cuts. I stamped the sentiment in black ink on the label die cut which satisfied the stamping requirement. I added three tiny white flat-back pearls (colored black with an alcohol marker) to the stamped sentiment which took care of the requirement of three embellishments. ;)

I covered the inside of the card base with CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft cardstock, embellished it with a strip of CutCardStock Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock and a very narrow leftover strip of the kraft cardstock just beneath it for a tone-on-tone effect, and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

And one more look… what a fun challenge! Love how this card turned out!

Tea ‘thank you’

Happy Saturday, friends! Hope you have a great weekend planned! A new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #145 – Anything Goes Challenge! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a double gate fold ‘thank you’ card sample using some Prickley Pear Stamps tea-themed stamps and dies along with some pretty double-sided paper from my stash! You know how I love fun folds, and this one is so awesome!

I stamped the to-go tea cup on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers and cut it with the coordinating die. I adhered it to a stitched mini scallop die cut also cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock which I layered on a stitched circle cut from emerald green cardstock. I chose double-sided paper that wasn’t too ‘busy’ for the folded card base, and adhered the focal image. I embellished the inside panel with a paper strip and a sentiment cut from the emerald green cardstock, and stamped some coordinating tea leaves in the bottom right corner.

And one more peek… I really love this fold and I’m sure you’ll be seeing it again (and again)!

You’re Simply Wonderful

5/31/21 DT Favorite Winner at Classic Design Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Loving life here with great weather and lots of studio time! It’s time for a new challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration for LTCCB #58 – May Anything Goes! I created a waterfall card – my first-ever waterfall card – and if you know me, you know that I’m a fun fold geek! I’ve had these instructions in my tutorial folder for quite some time and don’t exactly know why I haven’t made one yet… I thoroughly enjoyed making this!

I stamped the background in green using a pretty floral stamp set and layered the panel on black cardstock. I stamped a sentiment at the top of the panel in black ink. I applied transfer foil to a cardstock scrap to use for the centers of the flowers and OMG this is some fun stuff! I die cut ten flower centers from the foiled cardstock and adhered one to each of the flowers on the background. I then stamped the four waterfall panels with the same stamp set but in different colors, and layered those panels on black cardstock. I adhered the remaining gold foiled flower centers to the panels. I stamped the vertical strip across the pull mechanism in green and layered it on black cardstock as well, and adhered it to the base panel with green Scrapbook Nails.

I stamped a simple ‘thanks’ sentiment on the back, leaving plenty of room for a handwritten note and signature.

And one more peek… so happy with how this turned out! I see more of these in my future, lol!

Here’s a little video showing how this fun fold works!

Birthday Quad Fold

Hi friends! Happy Saturday – I hope you have something fun planned this weekend and you’re having some great weather! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #49 – Anything Goes + Layering! We are a technique challenge blog and all of our challenges are ‘anything goes’ and we offer a different technique twist each month to inspire you! Our twist this month is layering (three or more layers) which is easy for most of us, lol! I have a cool project to share this month with lots of layers – which I’m calling a quad fold card. My inspiration came from the Stempeleinmaleins blog but I can’t find the specific post again. It’s a German blog with tons of great resources and they may have called this fold something different than what I’m calling it. If I end up finding it, I’ll update this post.

I created the card base from kraft cardstock and covered the panels with coordinating papers. I stamped an assortment of images on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock in brown and teal inks, cut them with oval and scalloped oval dies, layered them and adhered them to the panels. A couple of them required a small amount of coloring which I did with alcohol markers and I added some Crystal Drops to a couple of them. I added a velcro closure under the scalloped oval element on the front to keep it closed.

And one more peek at the front and one of the back… so loving how this turned out! Definitely a unique fold!

With Love

Hello, everybody! Hey, Hey, Happy Satur-Day! Hope you have some fun planned this weekend! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! Our new challenge launched this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #34 – May Anything Christmas Goes! I’ve been playing with more Prickley Pear Stamps and coordinating die, and had a great time creating this card!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a dark green background panel from the last few scraps of this cardstock. I was so sad to see it come to an end – it’s a gorgeous color and I’m not sure I can get any more of it. I tore some snow banks from white cardstock, layered them together and adhered them to the bottom of the green panel. I stamped, embossed and cut the trees with the coordinating die, and adhered them to the panel. This is that funky clear embossing powder in my stash that looks like it has some white embossing powder mixed in it. I know I’ve talked about it before. I’m so tempted to throw it away and replace it with a new container of that brand, but somehow it looks so cool that I always talk myself into keeping it, lol! I added three snowflake brads and then adhered the panel to the front of the card.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and stamped the sentiment in dark green ink. Since I was literally down to scraps of this cardstock as mentioned above, I fashioned a semi-border with four strips which I thought looked kind of cool. There’s more than one way to make this design happen even if you ARE running out of a particular color of cardstock! ;)

And one more look… totally loving this design! This is another one that would be easy to mass produce!

from one crazy bird to another

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a fun friendship card featuring NEW brads in the store along with some washi tape and yep… you guessed it… (my favorite) enamel dots!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I cut a layering panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and a slightly larger panel from American Crafts Peacock cardstock which I adhered together. I cut a panel from some tropical leaf paper for the right side and then added a narrow strip of the Peacock cardstock along with a strip of Silver Skinny Washi Tape. I stamped the sentiments in teal ink, then stamped an assortment of tropical leaves on white cardstock scraps in teal and green ink, die cut them and arranged them on the card panel. The final step was adding two Tropical Bird Brads and three Green Enamel Dots, and adhering the panel to the card base.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of tropical leaf paper and a narrow strip of Peacock cardstock, stamped the sentiment in teal ink, and layered the panel on the Peacock cardstock.

And one more peek… so happy with how this turned out! Love it when the paper and stamps coordinate so well, and the card comes together easily with these amazing brads, washi tape and enamel dots!

‘Cut out to be friends’ matchbook

Hi everybody! I hope you are having a fantastic week! Man, they are flying by! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped in this morning with another fun little matchbook – I used the Craft Room set this time! So fun! When I finished the 20 commissioned Mother’s Day cards (I still have several to share, by the way), I moved on to nine samples for Prickley Pear Stamps which I finished yesterday and photographed with my new Canon Rebel T7. You’ll see those a little later on. I’ve had the Canon for a little over a week and finally got brave enough to try it out… and wow, talk about A LOT for this old brain to comprehend!

This matchbook was probably the last project destined to be photographed with the old DSLR camera that I was totally comfortable with and knew like the back of my hand. I’m sad it has to be replaced but life goes on. I’m actually looking forward to making a few changes going forward – I’m still using the tripod but have discontinued the lightbox. I typically shoot four pics of each card and I’m cutting down to three. And I’m considering cutting down the narratives on my projects as well, with the goal of shorter posts since I seem to have less time these days. I work way ahead so you’ll still be seeing some longer posts with more photos that have been scheduled for a while. Okay, back to the matchbook!

I cut the base from CutCardStock Basis Aqua cardstock and used CutCardStock Basis Teal cardstock for the window trim on both sides and the rug. I stamped all the elements on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies.

Here are shots going around the outside and a shot of the itty bitty envelope. ;)

And one more look… I can’t get over the detail on these – loving the die cut machine on the cabinet and the paper cutter on the bottom shelf, lol! On to the Den Set next, so stay tuned! ;)

Happy Father’s Day

5/3/21 Winner at Pammie’s Inky Pinkies Challenges!

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had an amazing week! Hard to believe it’s the last day of April already! I’m delighted to be back on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a super clean and simple Father’s Day card in a navy blue and white color combo. You know how guys are… the simpler, the better, lol!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock, along with narrow panels cut from Neenah Classic Linen Solar White 100# cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Navy cardstock, which I layered together and adhered to the left side of the card base. Using the Tutti Designs Fancy Tie die, I cut the tie twice from CutCardStock Basis Navy cardstock, layered them together for slight dimension and adhered them to the narrow panel. I stamped the sentiment in navy blue ink, which completed the card front.

For the inside, I also cut narrow panels from Neenah Classic Linen Solar White 100# cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Navy cardstock, layered them together and adhered them to the left side of the panel. I stamped the sentiment in navy blue ink and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! This is the true definition of CAS!
