MOM

5/3/21 Top Sprout at A Place To Start!

Hi everybody! Hope you’ve had a great weekend! I’m working on a few more commissioned Mother’s Day cards and have popped in this evening with another one to share! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! This card features the ‘Mom’ stamps and dies from Pretty Pink Posh and I think I’m in love! I really enjoyed coloring these florals and designing this clean and simple card!

I stamped the floral MOM letters on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock, colored them with Bic Mark-Its and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base and layering panel from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock along with a slightly larger layering panel and another set of MOM letters from CutCardStock Basis Red cardstock. I die cut the word ‘happy’ from CutCardStock Raspberry Ice cardstock thinking ‘never in a million years would I have ever thought I would pair pink with red’ – but it totally worked on this design! I adhered the layering panels together, then adhered them to the card base. I adhered the floral letters to the red cardstock letters, off-setting them just a bit, and adhered them to the card front. I stamped the sentiment in black ink beneath the die cut letters, and the finishing touch was adding the pink die cut ‘happy’ just above the sentiment.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory 80# cardstock, stamped the sentiment and layered the panel on CutCardStock Basis Red cardstock.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! And yep, I like the pops of pink and red together! ;)

Mother’s Day Flowers

4/30/21 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!
5/2/21 Winner at 613 Avenue Create!

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a beautiful weekend! Our weather is getting better by the day, and the hubs has started planting fruit and veggies in the garden! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped in this evening to share a super cute Mother’s Day card. I’ve been commissioned to make quite a few Mother’s Day cards so you’ll be seeing them mixed in with my design team projects over the next couple weeks. ;) I knew the Honey Bee Stamps Flower Pot Card die set would be perfect so I made several of these this afternoon!

I dug into my Papertrey Ink cardstock stash and used Canyon Clay and Pure Poppy for the flower pot, along with scraps of Prairie Grass, Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest, Tropical Teal, Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf, and Vintage Jadeite cardstock for the flowers and leaves. I stamped the sentiment in black ink on the front of the flower pot prior to assembling it, and once assembled, I embellished it with small clear gemstones.

I cut the pull-out card from Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise cardstock and adhered a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock to it and stamped the simple sentiment in black ink.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! I’ve only used this die set once before and made these flowers a bit different. Love all the color! ;)

8/15/22 CAS Weekly Favorite at Splitcoast Stampers!

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a pretty clean and simple thank you card using more of the new brads in the store along with my favorite enamel dots! This card came together really quickly!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base and a layering panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I stamped flower stems and leaves in green ink in the bottom right quadrant of the layering panel, and then stamped the sentiment in pink ink just to the left of the stems and leaves. I added five Colored Daisy Brads and adhered the panel to the card base. The final touch was adding several White Enamel Dots to complete the front panel.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of pink striped paper, stamped the sentiment in green ink and adhered the panel directly to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… such a pretty CAS design to say thank you! Loving these new daisy brads!

Thanks

Happy Friday, friends! I’m thrilled to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring more of the amazing Glitter cardstock that’s on sale this month so be sure to get some! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a pretty thank you card featuring a lacy glittery panel with a single lavender bud.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with layering panels from Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock and Basis Dark Purple cardstock which I adhered together. I die cut two lacy panels from Silver Glitter cardstock, trimmed the ends off of each and butted them together to make one longer panel. I stamped and die cut the lavender bud and layered it on three more plain die cuts for some dimension. I stamped the sentiment and layered it, then added three white enamel dots to finish the front.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the amethyst, silver glitter and dark purple cardstock, stamped the sentiment in purple ink and layered the panel on the dark purple cardstock.

And one more look… super happy with how this turned out! These purples are so pretty, and that silver glitter cardstock is amazing!

Traveler’s Notebook

Hi everybody! Oh, Happy Day! I hope you’re having a good one! I’m back this morning with another fun post… my first Traveler’s Notebook! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I had with this! I’ve been seeing these notebooks in various forms around the web for a good while now so I decided to try my hand at making one. I’ve actually had the notebook and inserts with tags done for a couple months, and finally added die cuts for photos and journaling yesterday, so now it’s complete and ready to mail. ;)

Here’s a huge shout-out to Doodlebug Design for making the most awesome 6×6 patterned paper EVER – all of the patterned papers are from various Rainbow Petite Prints paper pads plus another one of theirs that I’ve had in my stash for many years. I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock for all 13 of the white tags slid into the pockets. There is a pocket inside the front cover, and there are three tri-fold inserts that each contain four pockets each with white tags and little doo-dad pulls at the top of each one. And here’s another huge shout-out to STAMPlorations for making some pretty awesome dies in their CUTplorations line that I used for die cuts on a number of the pages for photos and journaling. I used a Cottage Cutz die to create some double-stitched oval die cuts on a few of the pages as well (these are some more of my favorites). The cover is laminated and has an elastic cord to hold it closed. This was definitely a labor of love and I have plans to make a few more.

This was a booger to photograph… what with the problems I’m having with my old camera, the slick laminated cover sliding around (and casting a shine), and pages that would not open completely without holding them… so I did the best I could, lol!

And last but not least, here’s a flip-through. ;)

‘Make a little wish’ matchbook

5/2/21 Top 5 at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog!

Hi friends! Hope your week is starting off great! Mine started with a doctor appointment… new insurance January 1st means a new primary care provider and I only put it off four months, lol! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped in this evening with a fun birthday matchbook I created for a birthday coming up soon. Squeal – I’m HOOKED on matchbooks! OMG, they are so tiny and so stinkin’ fun!

I cut the base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and used a primarily-purple color scheme, with purple polka-dot paper on the base, and I cut the window frame, rug and sentiment panel from CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock. This was the first one I made and I learned a few tricks along the way for the next ones, lol!

I stamped all the elements on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies. So sorry about these close-ups. My camera is on it’s way out. It’s eight years old and doesn’t seem to hold settings anymore. Macro and super macro are blurry, no white balance (which is a nightmare in the light box), it literally gobbles up batteries in two or three uses so I have to keep it hardwired all the time, it no longer reads SanDisks so I have to connect it directly to the laptop with a USB cable to upload my pics… I could go on and on. I guess after eight years I’ve gotten my money’s worth. So my new Canon Rebel T7 shipped out today and I will hopefully have it in a few days. I can’t wait… :P

Here are shots going around the outside of the matchbook and with the little envelope. ;)

And one more peek… I can’t stand it! I’ve been looking at these sets for the past few months and finally gave in! So stayed tuned for a few more, lol! I treated myself to the birthday, den, kitchen and craft room sets! “Warning: Matchbooks are addictive!” ;)

Aged To Perfection.

Hi everyone – I hope your week is off to great start! A new ‘3 Colors Plus Twist’ challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Beccy’s Place so be sure to come on over and play! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a Father’s Day card using Neville from Beccy’s Gnomes In My Garden digital stamp set. I’m so in love with Neville. I’ve had him in my stash for a little while and this is the second time I’ve used him. Is he cool or what?! If I wasn’t married and if Neville were a real dude, I’d SO date him, lol!

For the 3 Colors Plus Twist challenge this fortnight, we are to use the three colors shown in the photo below with a twist of a die cut. Definitely do-able! I used blue and green when I colored Neville, used double-stitched rectangle dies and added a yellow strip to my card design so I’ve covered all bases! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock. I printed Neville on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock, colored him with alcohol markers and cut him with a double-stitched rectangle die. I layered the image on a slightly larger double-stitched rectangle cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green. I didn’t have the right color of blue cardstock in my stash so I faked it by cutting a slightly larger rectangle of the ivory cardstock and coloring the outside 1/2″ around all four sides, then adhered it beneath the layered image. I added a wide strip of CutCardStock Camomile cardstock down the center of the card base, stamped the sentiment in black ink at the bottom, adhered the layered image, and added three black enamel dots to the top to finish the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock and embellished it with a narrow strip of CutCardStock Camomile cardstock, stamped the sentiment in black ink and layered the panel on CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock.

And one more look… so loving this little dude! He makes the coolest cards, lol!

Fishing Rules

4/30/21 Spotlight Winner at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge!

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve had a great week and will be doing something fun (and safe) this weekend! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a fun hybrid Father’s Day card featuring a slew of awesome brads and of course some washi tape!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from CutCardStock Curious Metallic Night cardstock. I cut a background panel from CutCardStock Sandcastle cardstock and covered it with Sky Washi Tape-Wide and Water Washi Tape, then printed the Fishing Rules digital image on CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft cardstock, fussy cut it and adhered it to the background panel. I hand-drew the sign post with a black Pigma Micron pen, as the post was not included with the digital image. I tore a scrap of brown bag kraft cardstock to create a sand dune, and added Fishing Lure Brads, a Fishing Pole Brad, Trout and Bass Brads, a Wine Brad (don’t laugh – I didn’t have the beer brads yet and the wine bottle looked like it could pass for a beer bottle, lol, but I have linked to the beer brads!), a Seagull Brad and Shell Brads to create my little beach scene.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Sandcastle cardstock and embellished it with a strip of CutCardStock Brown Bag Kraft cardstock, a narrow strip of the sandcastle cardstock for a tone-on-tone effect, and a narrow strip of CutCardStock Curious Metallic Night cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in black ink on a scrap of the sandcastle cardstock, cut it with a stitched rectangle die and layered it on a slightly larger black cardstock die cut, and then layered the panel on the twine cardstock.

And one more look… I chuckled the entire time I was creating this! Absolutely love how it turned out! ;)

ART happens mixed media board

Hello again! I’m back with the third project in my first feature as guest designer for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday! I’m having a blast! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! As mentioned in my previous posts, I have three projects to share and wanted to showcase them individually so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature several ARTplorations Stencils and Masks along with other products available in the store. So here is a fun mixed media board!

I started by laying a 6×6 piece of Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock with the ARTplorations ART happens Mask and three pieces of the ARTplorations Circles Flexi-Template in my ink spray cardboard box and randomly sprayed Red, Gold, Yellow and Orange Glimmer Mists over the board. I then put a 2×2 EcoArtBoard into the cardboard box with the R on the mask centered over it and sprayed the Glimmer Mists over it as well. The spray landed heavier in some areas on both pieces, splattered/splotched in some areas, and even ran in a couple areas but I felt like all this contributed in a positive way to this mixed media board! After both pieces were thoroughly dry, I adhered the inked cardstock to a 6×6 Gessobord with matte gel used as an adhesive, and then randomly stamped sentiments from the STAMPlorations Art Is stamp set by pressing the stamps into barn door archival ink and then pressing them onto the pieces with my fingers rather than putting them on a block. I expressed ink from my Gold Posca pen onto a piece of scrap paper and flicked gold ink over the board, and then ran the pen around the edges of both pieces. I used the matte gel to adhere the EcoArtBoard to the Gessobord, lining up the letters. The finishing touch was adhering an arrow from the CRAFTplorations Funky Arrows #2 pack with the matte gel and drawing four tiny gold dots on the arrow with the Gold Posca pen.

Here are a couple additional shots.

And one more peek… this was so much fun! This mask and circle templates are awesome! Nothing like good mixed media play!
