If you’ve got it, haunt it!

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great week! I’ve popped in today to share an awesome DT inspiration project for The Project Bin! I used the fun Haunt It stamp set for this fun shaker card which I paired with several awesome coordinating Halloween papers! So hard to believe it’s almost Halloween… then comes Thanksgiving… and then comes Christmas! This year has literally flown by!

I love shaker cards and this was so fun! I created a 5-1/2″ square top folding card base and adhered the layered front panel. I stamped the sentiment in the center of the round shaker element, built the layers and threw in some Halloween confetti, sequins and seed beads. The final touch was the addition of a black enamel dot in each corner.

I embellished the inside panel with paper and cardstock strips, stamped the sentiment in black ink and layered the panel on black cardstock.

And one more peek… can’t get over how fun this is! Love this stamp set!

Happy Birthday tag card

Hi everyone! It’s Hump Day and it’s Day 3 of the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop! The Hop is going on until the 31st, so if you’re a fellow cat lover, come join us! There’s a lot of fun and games to join in every day, and Janis has been busy lining up some pretty awesome prizes to give away at the end!

I have a really fun tag card design of my own to share with you today that features super awesome Laurel Burch stamps! Who doesn’t LOVE to color Laurel Burch stamps (especially the cats)?! The sky is the limit with color choices! The bolder and brighter, the better, I say! ;)

I cut a top-folding card base in the shape of a tag and then picked out two coordinating bright pink papers along with some pink washi tape that I applied at the seam. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the images and adhered them to the panel, then stamped the sentiment and applied several small iridescent gemstones that I colored with a pink alcohol marker. I created hole reinforcements from white cardstock with two circle punches. I punched a hole through both layers of the card base and adhered reinforcements on the front and back side of the front flap. The final step was adding ribbon.

I created the inside panel just like the front panel, stamped the sentiment, added the hole reinforcements, and added a stitched square die cut for the signature area.

And one more peek… I’m in love with this design and see more of these in my future! So fun!

SURPRISE!

Howdy, friends! Happy Tuesday! It’s Day 2 of the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop and I’ve popped in this evening to share a fun cat card I created earlier today. The Hop is going on until the 31st, so if you’re a fellow cat lover, come join us! There’s a lot of fun and games to join in every day, and Janis has been busy lining up some pretty awesome prizes to give away at the end!

I had SO much fun with this card – the Crazy Cats stamps and dies are some of my all-time favorites. The Box Die is NBUS for sure (never before used stuff) – I’ve had it for at least five years and it’s never been out of the package. Also have the matching stamp set which I think I’ve used once because one of the stamps is stained but I sure don’t remember using it, lol! Shaking my head… how does that even happen?! Look how stinkin’ cute this is!

I dug out the Tim Holtz Crazy Cats and Crazy Things stamps and dies along with the Neat & Tangled Box stamps and dies. After I colored the cat, bow tie and flower bouquet, I decided to go with a purple and green color combo (one of my favorites) and created the background with coordinating purple papers, gold foil kraft and purple washi tape and then layered the panel on green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in green ink.

I cut the box from gold foil kraft, put the cat in it and added the bouquet and a tiny purple bow. I finished the front off with several tiny purple gemstones.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the papers and washi tape used on the front, stamped the sentiment in green ink, and layered the panel on green cardstock.

And one more look… this guy is totally cracking me up! I’m so smitten! ;)

Time

Hi everyone! Hope you’ve had a great Monday! Today is Day 1 of the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop and I’ve stopped in this evening to share a cat card I created this afternoon. We had our first snow of the season last evening (several inches) so it was a great day to stay indoors and craft! The Hop is going on until the 31st, so if you’re a fellow cat lover, come join us! There’s a lot of fun and games to join in every day, and Janis has been busy lining up some pretty awesome prizes to give away at the end!

While sympathy cards for humans or pets aren’t easy to create, we always need to have a few in our stash. I pulled out a cat sentiment stamp set that I’ve had in my stash for probably close to a year and have never used, and the sympathy sentiment spoke to me, so that’s the direction I went.

I cut a standard A2 size top folding card base, a small panel for the front and a panel for the inside from white cardstock. I covered the small panel with clock washi tape and cut a strip off which I popped up on white craft foam for a little interest. I die cut four cats from black cardstock and adhered them on top of each other. I adhered white craft foam to the back of the panel and positioned it on the card base to get an idea of where to stamp the sentiment.

I moved the panel out of the way, stamped the sentiment and paw prints, and then adhered the panel to the card base. I added a thin strip of light brown cardstock above and below the popped up panel, adhered the stacked cat die cuts and added a few enamel dots.

I embellished the inside panel with a piece of the clock washi tape and a narrow strip of the light brown cardstock, stamped the sentiment and paw prints in brown ink, and layered the panel on the light brown cardstock.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out!

2020 Cat Lovers Hop!

Hi everyone! That time is here… time for the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!

The Hop will go on October 26-31 and it’ll be my second year participating! Had a great time last year! Be sure you visit Her Peaceful Garden to read all the details and join in! If you’re a cat lover, you’ll have so much fun!

Let me side-track you for a moment to share my favorite pics of our feline tribe! My hubby and I have ten feline fur babies that we’re absolutely crazy about – Poopie, Molly, Walter, Jack, Tigger, Milo, Dusty, Loki, Spike and Tater! Indulge me for a moment while I share some pics, lol! I know, I’ve said it before… I’m like that little old granny who whips out the wallet and 2-1/2 feet of pictures unfolds! Bahahahaha!

Poopie (15-1/2), is the old lady who doesn’t like any of the other kitties… it’s a Manx thing! Ed got her when she was about four weeks old and she’s been by his side ever since!

poopie

Molly (6-1/2), is the mischief maker and little thief! She’s mama to Jack & Walter and I’m sure you’ll see the resemblance! Ed rescued her (along with two other females) from a job site, and when we took them to be spayed all three were pregnant, lol! We soon went from four kitties to 15! After weaning and getting them all spayed/neutered, most of the kittens were re-homed along with the other two mama kitties.

molly

Jack (5), is our giant Blankie Bump… loves to sleep under the covers for most of the day, just like a teenager! He’s one of Molly’s boys and is a huge lovable lug!

jack

Walter (5), is our Lil’ Panther… my sweet baby boy who loves to play laser! He’s Molly’s other son who gives finger kisses and gentle bites every now and then!

walter

Tigger (5), is the boy who doesn’t like to be touched unless he’s laying down… and then he loves his belly rubbed! When you catch him in that mood, you better get your lovins while you can! He’s one of the kittens born to one of the other females rescued and re-homed.

Milo & Dusty (both 3-1/2), are the teenagers who are constantly running through the house playing! Or eating… they are our treat mongers! We adopted them from our local shelter shortly after we moved out to Colorado from Florida.

milo-dusty

Loki (1-1/2) was about eight weeks old when he showed up under our neighbor’s carport in the freezing snow. He is Mr. Personality and there is never a dull moment in our house… he’s always into something! His name means ‘God of Mischief’ so it appears that his daddy named him very appropriately! ;)

UPDATE- JANUARY 2021: Mocha Latte is not listed as she re-homed herself a few months ago when we moved. We only moved four blocks but she apparently wanted to be with Keech (her BFF) in the old ‘hood. We brought her up here twice, and twice she left to go back down the street. So our friends (Keech’s owner) said they would keep her, feed her and love her – and we’re were fine with that. ;)

Spike and Tater (4 months) are our newest rescues that we took in month before last which brings our fur baby count up to ten. OMGoodness, it’s like having toddlers in the house again! They constantly play – and they are little rough-necks… nothing but needle teeth and claws! Bahahaha! Play one minute and sleep the next! They are a riot and so much fun!

Hope to see you at the hop!

Scrappy hugs,
lesliesig

You’re my favorite ghoul!

11/15/20 Site-Wide Winner at The Outlawz Challenges!

Hello again, friends! As promised, I’m back with another card I created for The Outlawz Challenges. I’m playing in the October Progressive/Freebie Challenge where Oddball Art Co. is the sponsor this month. We were given the adorable Sugar the Zombie digital image to play with and I have to say she’s almost too cute to spook, lol! I’m in another fun fold mode (am I ever not in a fun fold mode, lol?!) and created a free standing pop-up Halloween card in shades of green to match Sugar’s skin tone and hair, lol!

I printed the image and two sentiments on white cardstock, trimmed the focal image and one sentiment into rectangles, and cut the second sentiment with a rectangular die. I colored the image with alcohol markers and accented her stitches with a silver metallic marker. I cut a frame from black glitter paper using two deckled rectangle dies and adhered the image behind the frame. I created the card base from black cardstock and layers from coordinating dotted and striped papers.

I embellished the back sentiment panel with a strip of dotted paper.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! Another one that folds flat for mailing!

Autumn Greetings

Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! I have so much to do my head is spinning, lol! I’m going to start by sharing a couple cards I created for The Outlawz Challenges, so stay tuned for one more post after this one. I created a front step card using Jan’s Digi Stamps Signs of Autumn digital stamp set. This set is gorgeous and the front step card is one of my new favorite fun folds, so it’s a win-win as far as I’m concerned! I’m entering this Autumn/Fall card into the Twisted Thursday – Anything Goes w/ optional Embossing challenge that’s going on.

I printed the digital stamp and both sentiments in brown and let them sit in my studio for several days. I have found that allowing digital images printed on an inkjet printer to sit for a few days makes coloring with alcohol markers cleaner and the ink doesn’t smear. Heat setting the digis with a heat tool works also and speeds up the process if you’re in a hurry. ;) I cut the focal image with a stitched rectangle die, cut one of the sentiments into a rectangular panel, and punched the second sentiment with a circle punch. I created the card base from a nice medium tone brown cardstock and then cut the layers from a golden yellow cardstock which I embossed with a cable knit embossing folder. Love how this came together! ;)

I embellished the back sentiment panel with a couple cardstock strips.

And one more look… such a cool construction that packs a powerful punch and folds flat for mailing! No wonder it’s one of my new favs! ;)

From our pumpkin patch to yours…

Hi everyone! Are you having any of this cooler weather where you are? Fall has finally arrived here – it’s my favorite time of year and I’m loving every minute of it! I’m happy to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a fun Fall card featuring a couple of our awesome pumpkin products! ‘Tis the season for everything pumpkin, lol!

I created a side-folding A2 card base and rounded the right upper and lower corners. I created a pumpkin patch on the front panel with three strips of Pumpkin Washi Tape and then added three Pumpkin Brads. I added a thin strip of orange cardstock across the top of the pumpkin patch and then added a computer-generated sentiment strip. I layered the panel on orange cardstock and added some Crystal Drops.

I rounded the right upper and lower corners of the inside panel, added a strip of Pumpkin Washi Tape and adhered the computer-generated sentiment that I cut with a stitched rectangle die. I layered the panel on the orange cardstock.

And one more peek… I absolutely LOVE these brads with this washi tape – the pumpkins match perfectly!

Motivational Artist Trading Cube

11/1/20 Top 3 at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring more of the Royal Sundance cardstock that was included in our Designer’s Pack – which happens to be on sale this month so be sure to get some! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a motivational ATC (artist trading CUBE) with a different word on each of the six sides! This will be an awesome addition to my desk showing a different ‘motivational’ side each day! ;)

This is the second artist trading cube I’ve made and they are so much fun! I’m sharing my template with you today so you can make your own! A 2-1/2″ cube fits perfectly on an 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock: On long side score at 1/2″, 3″, 5-1/2″, 8″, and 10-1/2″. Rotate cardstock to short side and score at 1/2″, 2-1/2″ (down to fourth horizontal score line), 3″, 5-1/2″, 6″ (down to fourth horizontal score line) and 8″. Using the photo below as a reference, remove the outer-most sections from cube base. Miter the corners of all tabs. The pencil lines in the photo represent the score lines and the thick black lines represent the cut lines.

I cut my cube base from Royal Sundance Felt Natural cardstock which is nice and sturdy, and an excellent choice of cardstock for an artist trading cube. Each side has three layers, so I die cut six stitched squares from Pop-Tone Razzleberry cardstock, six squares from Curious Metallic Chestnut cardstock, and six stitched floral squares (extra wide Washi Tape on Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock used here) and layered them together so I had one for each side. I typed the motivational words on the computer on Baronial Ivory, trimmed them, and applied one to each layered square.

Let me share a tip – you want to decorate the sides BEFORE assembling the cube with glue. When adhering the layered squares to the six sides of the cube base, be sure to place them in proper orientation (up, down or sideways) so viewing is seamless. It’s easiest to ‘dry assemble’ the cube (without adhering) and mark the orientation prior to adhering each square. I put a small pencil number in the center which was covered up later when adhering the layered squares. When you have everything the way you want it, assemble the cube, tucking in the tabs and adhering one tab at a time. Here are shots of each of the sides:

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! As with the rest of my ATCs (cards, coins and cube), I won’t trade, lol!

Dotted/Floral Smile

Hello again, peeps! I’m back today with my last Prickley Pear Stamps sample in this batch! Whew, I’ve been busy over the past few months and it feels good to have showcased them all! This fun bi-level card was created with the absolutely adorable Emma Uppercase Alphabet Letters and Emma Lowercase Alphabet Letters clear stamp sets! These stamp sets were designed for Prickley Pear Stamps by a sweet 17-year-old young lady, and I think she did a fine job! They are so fun and versatile!

I created a standard top-fold A2 card base, adhered yellow dotted paper to the front flap and chopped it off with a stitched scallop edge die. I stamped upper and lower case alphabet letters randomly all over the front flap and colored the small segments in with a yellow alcohol marker.

I embellished the bottom portion of the inside flap with a coordinating floral paper and a leftover strip of the dotted paper used on the front, and then added a die cut sentiment.

And one more peek… this is so stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it! It’s rare that I create a card without a front sentiment, but with the die cut sentiment inside, it can be used for a variety of occasions – and I like that!
