Meowy Christmas

Hi everyone! Well, we’re beginning the month of July. Can you believe it?! A new challenge has launched this morning over at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project with you for MLCCB #12 – July Anything Christmas Goes! I sure do love fun folds and I finally got around to trying a book fold. I’ve had the instructions printed in my tutorial folder for quite some time which I believe I got out of a Splitcoast Stampers newsletter. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! ;)

I used the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cats stamps and die set that I’ve had in my stash for a couple years and have never used. Not sure how that happened, lol! I kept with the traditional red and green Christmas colors. I stamped all the images and sentiments from the set in black ink on ivory cardstock and then colored the images with my Studio 71 alcohol markers.

I arranged the colored images and sentiments on the front and the inside ‘book.’

Here’s an overhead view of the construction. Really loving how this turned out. I see more of these in my future, lol!

Get Well Soon

Hiya, crafty friends! Half the year is over… yep, Christmas will be here before we know it, lol! A new challenge is live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #27 – Anything Goes + Foiling. Remember, all of our challenges are ‘anything goes’ and we offer a different technique twist each month for inspiration but the twist is not required to play! This month the twist is to use foiling – this could be a Minc machine, foiled cardstock, aluminum foil, etc. If you’re inclined to play the twist, let your creativity soar! I created a hot pink Get Well card using DCWV Washi Foil, and if this doesn’t make someone feel better, it will certainly blind them, lol! It’s bright and I love it!

I’ve used lots of dies on this, starting with the scalloped stitched card base and stitched panels, then moving on to the foiled stitched oval with stamped sentiment, and finally the stamped and die cut band-aid with a little paper piecing. This was so much fun!

Happy New Home

Hi everyone! Another Happy Monday to you – hope your week will be off to a good start! A new challenge is live over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #123 – Anything Goes! I created a ‘new home’ card and used the simply adorable Single Birdhouse stamp for my project. Many of you know that my husband and I sold our home in early May and have been living in our fifth wheel waiting to close on another home 95 miles northwest of where we were living. The sale of that home went without a hitch. However, nothing has been on schedule with the purchase of the new home and we are now approaching three months since we went under contract. My heart was really in this card because we are yearning so badly to get into the new home, lol! But there is light at the end of the tunnel… looks like we may finally be closing soon!

I chose a couple coordinating papers for the background and colored the image with matching alcohol markers. I attempted to make it look a little weathered. ;)

I adhered the left and right panels to foam for a little dimension, leaving the birdhouse image flat on the card base. I bridged the sentiment onto the panels across the bottom of the image, and added some tiny clear rhinestones to the flowers on the left-hand panel.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the paper used on the front. The front and inside sentiments are from my digital stash.

One more look… so happy with how this turned out! I love that image! ;)

Shabby Chic Thank You note cards

Hello, my crafty friends! I hope you’ve had an awesome week! I’m super stoked to share my Ephemoire inspiration project with you this morning. I was provided Pretty In Pink Printable Papers Letter Size to play with this month and created a set of 10 shabby chic thank you cards. One can never have too many thank you cards in their stash! ;)

I’m a cardmaker at heart, dubbed “The Card Queen” many years ago and recently re-dubbed the same by an online crafting friend, so when I saw these papers I knew what I had to do. ;) These papers are absolutely gorgeous!

Each card features torn pink vintage rose papers with either green striped or green peeled paint paper seen underneath, gold foil ‘thank you’ elements layered on punched circles, and a few tiny flat-back pearls.

There are five papers in the set, so I printed each of the floral sheets twice, created background pieces, and tore each one a little differently for variety.

I created a ‘thank you’ sentiment for each card using a gold foil sticker layered on a punched circle, which I placed randomly on each card.

The finishing touch on each card was the application of several tiny white flat-back pearls. I didn’t photograph the inside of the cards but I embellished the inside panel of each one with a thin leftover strip of paper used on the front, leaving plenty of room to write a custom message. Loving how these turned out!

thanks note card

Hi everyone! Happy Monday – the weekend sure went by fast, lol! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! spiegelmon scraps is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! I created a pretty thank you card featuring some new cardstock, several gorgeous coordinating papers, a few die cuts, and spiegelmom scraps Snowy Fields sequins and Rustic Hearts wood veneers.

The spiegelmom scraps sequins and wood veneers were a gift and I’m absolutely thrilled to use them in this sketch challenge! She definitely has some awesome products! I used some American Crafts cardstock for the first time (and I’m in love!) to layer under the background paper. I chose several more papers from the Cafe Mediterranean matstack to create the frame, the area inside the frame, and the two strips down the left side. I created the frame and area inside the frame with two Cottage Cutz Double-Stitched Rectangle dies. The thanks sentiment was created with the WPlus9 Hand-Lettered Thanks die (seven die cuts layered on top of each other). The finishing touches were the spiegelmom scraps products.

Since this is a note card, I left the inside blank so there’s plenty of room to write a custom message. I decorated the top of the panel with a leftover strip of paper and cardstock used on the front.

And here’s one more look… I’m so stoked about this card! I love how it turned out and can’t wait to use it or gift it! ;)

Washi Tape Caddy

Hi everyone! It’s HUMP DAY says the camel, lol! Today is my post day on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you, a fun Washi Tape caddy that I created for my studio with the Simply Crafty SVGs Tool Caddy cut file. I’ve become addicted to skinny Washi Tape and thought it only fitting to create a caddy to hold it!

I used 120# Kraft cardstock for the base and some orange dotted cardstock for the panels. I have a fun Crafty Organization stamp set from Inspired by Stamping in my stash that I decided to use to stamp the label in matching orange ink. What a fun project – I’ll soon be making a couple more of these in different colors to hold the rest of my Washi Tape! ;)

nothing like a dream

Hello, my crafty friends! Hope you had a great weekend! A new challenge launched over at UnstampaBelles last Monday and today is my showcase day on the blog! I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for Stained Glass Using Dies! The twist this month is Inlaid Glitter. The twist is not mandatory to play but we’d love to see your creativity and it will put you in the running for DT Favorite! And there’s a prize in the mix… a random number draw for $15 to the shop of your choice or via PayPal! How awesome is that?!

I created a friendship card using dark brown cardstock for the card base. I cut off the corners of the card base to follow the flat corners of the die cut.

I colored the first layer containing the die cut negative spaces with earth tones, then added Glossy Accents, some glitter and another coat of Glossy Accents.

I added five more die cut layers to build the design, then I added a few flat back pearls and a sentiment sticker to finish it off.

I kept the inside fairly simple with another sentiment sticker and a leftover strip of the brown cardstock used for the card base.

And one more look… I’m really loving how this stained glass look turned out! Have to admit I was a little skeptical about how it would end but I love it!

Hello, my crafty friends! Can you believe we’ve busted through the first week of June?! Hope you’ve had a great week! This month’s Anything Goes with Dies Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers and I’m absolutely thrilled to share my DT inspiration project with you today!

I created a ‘new house’ card. I paired an awesome forest village die with a very cool stamp set and label die to complete the look. I began by creating a card base from thick white cardstock along with front and inside panels layered on green cardstock.

I’m SO smitten with this die – it cuts beautifully! It was super easy to create a gorgeous white on white card with just a pop of color. I cut a ‘stencil’ from thick cardstock, placed it on the front panel, and used it to color in the rooftops and trees. I then adhered the die cut in place so the colors showed through the appropriate areas. I stamped the sentiment in green ink and cut it with a label die, then adhered it toward the bottom with foam tape.

I kept the inside very simple with just a stamped sentiment in two colors of green ink on the layered panel.

Here’s one more look… I’m really loving how this turned out!

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far! This month’s ATC Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! The theme for our June ATC Challenge is Christmas and we’d love to see what you create for our challenge this month!

I’m really diggin’ creating ATCs and I’m SO happy to be on this design team! I belong to a couple ATC trading groups and have gotten a couple very awesome coins from a gal in the UK!

I used 120# kraft cardstock for my ATC base and I rounded the corners on this one. I adhered two KaiserCraft Letters to Santa papers together to create the background, cut the panel to size, rounded the corners and inked the edges. I stamped some text on the plain side of the background panel and added some skinny gold glitter Washi Tape to distinguish the two sides.

I created a couple of tags, inked the edges and connected them at the top with some green bamboo cord. I added a file tab decorated with some black/gold skinny Washi Tape to the left side of the top tag and a faux wax stamp (paper coated with Glossy Accents). I colored a tiny doily with a green alcohol marker and tucked it under the right side of the embellished tags. Super easy and fun – and I love how it turned out!
